That was a great show 👏 love the cover tunes 💯 I also have preformed the same ones many times 🎶 I'm surprised this hasn't been shared as much? Excellent band 💯 Rock on ArtyThan ☆♡☆
Steve Nieve & The Playboys, Steve played keyboard for Elvis Costello, Pete Thomas was on drums, The guitarist was Kevin Armstrong and the bass player (who looked a bit like Tom Jones) was Steve Lawrence. Great days!!
Rare to see him playing his Gibson Les Paul gold top (rather than bass) on three straight songs, but he’s a fine guitarist. Great performance-lots of energy!
I've been ignoring Macca for far too long. His solo career is loaded with great material. And his hands always rock.
I first heard this song, sung
by Tony Bennet.
I also love this rock version by Paul.
He's soooo cool!!
Fantastic
Paul McCartney dress up like Early Beatles Days like in Hamburg or The Cavern in Liverpool. Great Great Great
Amazing how in 1987 he still looked like Beatle Paul -
This version of lawdy miss clawdy is better than the album version :)
Very good quality! Thank you!
Uarrrgh. Great
I saw this on tv then, Ohne Filter! First upload ever i think of this broadcast , thank you!
Paul's voice is fantastic. Love him.
Return to Pepperland times!
This song seems like even present past
Great Paul! What about the great Duke Ellington?
even present past?
Does anyone know if that musicians are friends of Paul or just musicians for recording sessions?
They were the house band for the chat show 'The Last Resort'. Keyboard and Drums were Steve Nieve and Pete Thomas (both from Elvis Costello's Attractions), Bass was Steve Lawrence and the Guitarist was Kevin Armstrong, who has written a great book about his time working with Bowie, Iggy... and this show with McCartney. Apparently Kevin missed out on a tour gig with Paul by mentioning the Rutles!
2:34 Buddy Holly ?
