George Harrison in Anthology had no idea what songs were on what Beatle records. Paul even joked about in the interview. As fans we live in the past and want to know everything about them. They were just four guys having fun until it was not fun anymore. Sure they were the biggest band in the world but they moved on and I myself would be sick of answering the same questions for almost 60 years.

Officially announced today, Paul’s lost 1961 Bass has been found and returned after 51 years. May not have been in a castle somewhere but still a great story and incredible it got back to where it once belonged.

But questions like that are wishy-washy and ambiguous. It’s like “when did you guys start dating?” One person may see “dating” as the point in time that they and their partner began regularly hanging out on the weekends. Another person may see “dating” as much more “official”. Like after months of “hanging out” they don’t consider that “dating” until there’s an agreement between them to not see other people. When the Beatles began is like asking when WWII began. Was it in motion after the Treaty of Versailles was signed and started to punish Germany? Was it when Hitler seized power in 1933?

Lennon even claimed that, because Elvis was playing a Fender bass when they met him, that they all “just grabbed whatever instrument was around and played and sang with him” which all the other Beatles later refuted in a joint interview for Anthology. John also said they snuck into the bathroom at Buckingham Palace when they received their MBEs and smoked a joint, which George later claimed was just a cigarette and John was trying to sound cool by saying he met the queen stoned.

His comment about a click track- I respect that SO much. Specifically as a drummer and a singer myself, and also being 18 and working with other kids who aren’t legends or anything, we certainly get off tempo at times- but like Paul said, if one of us gets off we go with the drummer. Or if the drummer gets faster or slower, we still go with the drummer. You can’t just go off on the tempo you think or know it’s supposed to be- then your not thinking of everyone else
Exactly! Why does a professional musician need a click track when there's a drummer on stage? It takes away the opportunity for tempo changes and extending/shortening solos or ad libbing in the lyrics. As soon as there is a backing track or a click track the performance can no longer be spontaneous.

yeah no offense but even before I started listening to music I knew who the Beatles were
I didn't even know the Rolling Stones until I got into classic rock, except for maybe Mick Jagger and that's only because of the song "Moves Like Jagger"
The Beatles were a great band for a short time, the rolling stone are a great band for a long, long time.. and the stones can hold their own..Keith Richards and mick jagged were just as plorific writers.. just my opinion..

I loved watching this, although part of me would like to know what the question was in the first part that got him riled. I love his humbleness. To me, the Beatles are one of the best bands ever, and Paul was always my favorite. i watched the Car Pool Karaoke episode and couldn't help to think how great it would be to have the juke box where he plays the songs live. That man is timeless.
