Harmonica, sax and a distinctly different sound, all their music was awesome and I listened to both sides of their record all the way thru back when that was true music genius
I was 11 when this came out. Awesome then, but the thing is, it`s still awesome. Now it even brings tears to my eyes. An absolutely fantastic masterpiece, thank you for giving me back these memories.
We are , have been our parents , they live through us , in us they live immortal. Love u great song , i think of my brother when the scream amd yard bell ring !
Crime of the Century was the first album I ever bought and I saw Supertramp perform live in Hull in 1972 / 74 ? I'm now nearly 60. Imagine being introduced to music like this when you are a child? FUCKING BRILLIANT!!!!
My dad introduced me to Supertramp when I was about 6 years... Now Im 34 years and still this music gives me thrills and memories..... And although I may be young to like this music I still believe the musicians of this era where music geniuses... I studied music myself for 10 years but to come up with such tunes you've got to be a really good music genius... 👍👌✌🤘❤🎵🎶🎼🎸🎹
I am 64y now and I grew up with this Song like my friends did with shaking hair on the dance floor. I stiil enjoy this song and recommend it to my Son. He might not be interrested.(I guess they are lack of many pleasant music and memories these days - I am sorry for them - they miss a lot)
One of the best road trip songs - ever. I remember a long drive home, still hours to go, sun setting on my left, the shadow of mountains far to my right, the ribbon of road ahead... 'Supertramp' booming through the car's full set of speakers. Much has changed in my life in the decades since then, but I still love Supertramp!
Saw them about 1977 at the Odeon Birmingham. They played just about everything off Crime Of The Century and Crisis What Crisis? I remember the umbrella, deckchair and table lit up on the stage. An all time favourite band. They were spectacular.
Im 56 now, and im really listening all kind of music..from A to Z....love RHCP and many othets..im like newer ending story if you ask me about any kind of music...any mood anything and all...and thats the thing now..im in Quarantäne in swizerland and sitting on my Terrasse hanging in youtube...stuck in my play list and what had i there...Supertramp ❤ my mood got there..and im so much jamming with those guys and really got stock on this site once again.
I discovered Supertramp in the 70's growing up in Seattle. They were my favorite band back then and still are today. Roger is one of greatest Rock n Roll artists in the last 50 years. When you think of the great rock pianists over the years from Elton John to Billy Joel and Chris Martin of today, Roger Hodgson is up there with the very best. The piano in School and especially Child of Vision are pure genius. I have never heard anything better in Rock n Roll history than Child of Vision.
I played this song soo many times. Some songs you have to shelve a while before you get sick or tired of them. That has never happened with School. No matter how often I hear it, I still listen intently and get chills at the scream.

Vastly underrated band, some stellar songs, both had great voices, and top class musicians magical growing up with these guys, my young cousin John would have been 8 years old way back when, he's late 40's now, still loves them
My Uncle had this on in the car a lot, and I asked for a copy, back in grade 7. I listened and learned every note of this album. Supertramp is greatly under appreciated in Pop music these days , but that's fine- it speaks for itself. Great studio craft.
Hi Folks, well done! Caught the spirit right with all the ups and downs. I recall my feelings being a pupil a long time ago. Feels like just a couple of weeks ago. Shine on, you crazy diamonds!
These Guys were pure GENIUS ! HUGE FAN for 40 plus years ! Supertramp is tattooed across my collar bone ! Saw Rodger a few months back, He shook my hand and gave me his Guitar pick ! AWESOME NIGHT !
I love that every Supertramp album is different musically and similar tonally, They all build upon the previous records sound. You can literally hear the band build towards the Breakfast in America sound.
How good is this. So glad I was having a great time back in the 70s.
Als Jugendlicher in den 80ern, schau ich dieses Video immer wieder....lieber, als das Original...like a timemachine...thank you, Herr Engels !❤
A great capture on video that will last. 1987 is nearly 40 years ago. Wow. Where did time go.
Moin Herr Engels!
Dieses Video ist richtig toll. In Verbindung mit dem Lied einfach unschlagbar. Kompliment!
I just can't get bored of this piano solo, just perfect
Glad someone else enjoys it too
Me too!
I honestly can never get enough of this song...it’s pure art

A superior song, written and performed by a superior musician! What more can one ask?
Supertramp never got the credit they deserved, they were marvelous.Any comments folks.
Crime of the Century is an All-Time Classic album. Not a bad song on it!
Play Lynyrd skynyrd's greatest hits Play Lynyrd Skynyrd that smell
I absolutely agree. But Lynard sucks. Go away sir. Not the topic???
I know it is kinda randomly asking but does anybody know of a good place to watch newly released series online?

Wow - forgot how incredible this song is - so brilliantly constructed. Like a beautiful painting that includes all my early 70's memories. Yeeha!

How the song is written is simply pure diamond. Genius inside
I was 11 when this came out. Awesome then, but the thing is, it`s still awesome. Now it even brings tears to my eyes. An absolutely fantastic masterpiece, thank you for giving me back these memories.
The bass line in this tune is simply brilliant. It drives the song.
I loved this Song since i was 13 years old. Now i am 53 and i Do LOVE it more than ever!!!
DAMN MAN, THIS IS WHAT I CALL MUSIC. THE PIANO IS AWESOME
I really love this video. For me, the old footage and the calm scenes really match the somber tone of the music.
I brought crime of the century when it first came out . And still playing it , great music never dies
My mom used to listen this song with me in the car when I was little ❤ I miss her so much ❤
We are , have been our parents , they live through us , in us they live immortal. Love u great song , i think of my brother when the scream amd yard bell ring !
Yop, me too
My Dad too. He was murdered in 2004. This was his favorite band.
Great style of making music by Roger, Progressive and a true genious....

Why is everything written Spanish
@William Johnson
Uh, buddy, that’s German
I was 14 years old when I got into Supertramp music and this song went well with the times I was going to school and what was going on in those days.
Brings tears to my eyes.. Especially when I see how we've "progressed"..
I am 64y now and I grew up with this Song like my friends did with shaking hair on the dance floor. I stiil enjoy this song and recommend it to my Son. He might not be interrested.(I guess they are lack of many pleasant music and memories these days - I am sorry for them - they miss a lot)
I’m 14 years old now, and about two years ago I got into the amazing band of Supertramp
@@oliverfresh5742 So you are enjoy the music your parents did in the past. All fine. You are a little bit ahead of others...enjoy 🙂
The most incredible song about school experience..so beautiful!

I like all songs of SUPERTRAMP...this is one from best.ever SUPERTRAMP.
Same here my friend. Especially the opening harmonica.
What an incrédible song!

Schönes Zeitdokument.

What a song!
My friend used to come pick me up in her mother's VW bus. We used to smoke on the sly. We loved this song. Thank you.

Super underrated song, and my absolute favorite from them.
Supertramp! I was 16 years old in 1977! When I listen them it's really coming back to this time

PIANO PLAYING AT IT'S BEST!!!!
THE OPENING HARMONICA!!!!
A PERFECT SONG!!!
J’aime, j’aime !!!!
j ai 54 ANS MOI AUSSI
This is the best song by Supertramp, period.
One of my best songs of all time. This band didn't get the full credit it deserved - the musicians are pure genius. So creative and evocative.
The way those long intro notes grow in awe, the child scream suddenly cut by Hodgson's voice. Overwhelming.
it just totally freaks you out...brilliant, get goosebumps every time i hear it.
Juan Zabala indeed!!
Excellent moment. Great climax
Gives me chills every time. The original ASMR
Makes me impatient every time I listen to it, waiting for my favorite part to start

Except Rick Davies does the piano on this song, not Hodgson
One of their best tracks...Saw them live in Bolzano, Italy in the 80's....Great show....
This is the best song ever written by Supertramp. They never did better than this one. Thanks.
TheRunner75 not even fools overture???
Yes, "Fool's Overture" is excellent too and comes close.
I played this song soo many times. Some songs you have to shelve a while before you get sick or tired of them. That has never happened with School. No matter how often I hear it, I still listen intently and get chills at the scream.

One of my all time favorite road songs. No trip the same without playing this on the open road over and over again

Incredible! It reminds me of my buddy,n connecting partner,Johnny Mac! Great man,n great ironworker!

My favorite album of theirs..listened to it back then all the time
I finally convinced my daughter to listen to this song from a great band I grew up with. She listened to the first lyric and said, 'umm... stalker.'
I graduated in 1985. This song takes me back to my school days. Back to the days of 8 track tapes and cheap weed. Thanks for posting.

I love that every Supertramp album is different musically and similar tonally, They all build upon the previous records sound. You can literally hear the band build towards the Breakfast in America sound.
Exactly! And a direct example is "The Logical Song" coming just one album after "Babaji".
this song gives me shivers, so amazing lyrically and musically
Awesome group. Saw them live in Sydney 1976.
