Its such a subjective thing. Everyone both of you named are amazing. So are the drummers on this dudes list. Its why you can never say who is the best at something like this. Everyone has there own criteria to go bysnd it just comes down to personal preference.
@@damiencross7334 Too a point , it's true what you said . Danny Carey hands down. His set up alone is insane added with his particular style? BUT Neil Peart is certainly a LEGEND! I merely voted on the living.

But also neil Pert is just the god man hes untouchable man is surrounded by drums and cymbals with acoustic and electric absolute legend may he rest in peace🙏
Not to disagree with you about Neil - just about the kit. The kit does not make the drummer. The drummer makes the kit - period. A great drummer would make a kids first christmas set sound good.
Without question, Just in compositional skill alone Neil puts everyone else so far behind . . . . with every other drummer there is a degree or two of random-ness especially in their solos, well if anybody has ever heard a Neil Peart solo, they aren't going to be able to say that about that drummer
I’m glad to see Alex vanhalen in that list he has got to be one of the most underrated drummer. I say him in 1984 he did hot for teacher and I swear he went so fast it became one long beat. I was tore up at the time but still I have never heard drumming that fast before in my life.
The Rev man. Ugh such an amazing drummer. Same with Joey and Neil. They're all gone sadly. The best of the best and they are not longer here with us. Truly one of the hardest pills to swallow

Oh how wrong you are! Raymond Hearne of Haken does syncopations and odd signatures like no one else. You think it's a coincidence, tons of drummers make his covers, of this unknown band? Check Haken if you dare!
Idc if people don’t like the music, the band, or Dave himself, but Carter Beauford is just as good as Peart. Anyone who says otherwise is biased and/or a hater or just hasn’t seen him enough. He’s fucking absolutely unreal.
I was thinking "where the hell is Tomas Haake" but it seems not many people recognize his skill level here in the comments. Maybe they haven't even heard of him.
@@Mustaine1ify it drives me mad that whenever there is a piece on any musician there is always one person that posts about how underrated they are. Mike Mangini is miles ahead of all of these drummers when it comes to timing, technicality, and polyrhythms. The guy is a machine. He's the only drummer in the world who can play three time signatures at once and also do it ambidextrously.
@@andigunawan7920 Just because you aren't musically inclined and you give the rebuttal of a 12 year old it doesn't mean that there is someone else who can do the things he does on a kit. It seems someone forgot about Stewart Copeland, Carter Beauford and most importantly John Bonham. John Bonham should always be and will always be number one forever and ever, even if there’s a fire.
Yes ,it seems if you use double bass , you are therefore in the top ten drummers lol ! Non of these noise makers could hold a candle to Bonzo , Stuart Copeland , Buddy Rich , Cozy Powell , Ringo , Charlie Watts ,Phil Collins and many , many more !
But bar one or two on that list they are not technically better than any of the drummers mentioned, just ' run of the mill ' stickmen , who use double bass which is nothing new .Ginger baker started using double kick bass , years ago and who could drum most of the drummers in this list into the ground . I think it's just a fan boys list .
@@SISU889 i get what your saying but you could say its not about doing anything new. It could be about how well people do what they do. Does anyone really do anything new anymore? Just cause ginger baker was playing double bass in the 70s doesn't discredit how good joey jordison is as a player. That being said ginger is in my top ten but so is joey. I just like a lot of different kinds of playing i guess.
@@SISU889 Phil Collins ?????????????????? Errrr no
Danny Carey hands down. His set up alone is insane added with his particular style? BUT Neil Peart is certainly a LEGEND! I merely voted on the living.
I don’t understand the lack of respect for Danny Carey on so many lists.
I also don’t understand the amount of respect for Dave Grohl. Don’t get me wrong, I like Dave Grohl, but i was never blown away by him behind his kit during the Nirvana era.
I've been around 9 decades over 2 centuries and seen em all and i agree Danny Carey is special.
@@mmedrano21,i think with Dave Grohl it is because he is an all round fine musician taking in other instruments, he is an excellent front man and overall a decent human being.
Bonzo from led Zeppelin#1
Neil Pert from Rush#2
Bill Ward from Black Sabbath#3
Ginger Baker from Cream#4
Alex Van Halen#5
Ginger baker for sure!!!
Any list without John Bonham doesn't exist.
He's the best.
@@arnaudh.681my list dont got bonham 😮
@@karkeido7611 who cares ? You're no one. 🤷♂️
@@arnaudh.681ur saying bonham should be on everyones list, yeah if were talking rock then hes the best, but for example im a jazz drummer and he aint on my list
In a land of the blind, a one-eyed man is king.
Bonham was OK. For the time. We’ve gone so far since then.
Honorable Mention Phil Collins/Chester Thompson (Genesis), Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters) Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers) Sheila E and yes Prince (people don't look at him as a drummer, they only know his guitar work)
I see jimmy and i click 😥 Miss you so much Knife Master 😣
same
he isnt the knife master yet and he wont come back, but when he comes back, he is gonna reach his final form
Same
Hey I'm here
@WhoDarestheMAN gamer just shut up and go to the hell with your stupid mother
Rest in peace Neil Peart. Thanks for your work.
If you haven't got John Bonham in there it's null and void. Ask any of these drummers in your top 10!
Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa, Max Roach, Larrie Londin, Chad Smith, Carter Beaufort, Jonathan Moffett (Alex Van Harlem is my favorite).
WTF where the Joey
Hiw the hell is Justin Foley not on this list??? KSE anyone???
Vc conhece o Eloi Casagrande? No momento acho que é o maior nome da bateria no Brasil, muito bom.
My favorite os John Bonham. Today Carter Beaufort very, very top!!!
van harlem lmaooo
R.I.P Charlie Watts, we will never forget you...😢😢
Make a top 12 best drummers and add John Bonham and Stewart Copeland.
I would have liked to seen Bill Ward playing Children of the Grave on here. Also I’m betting every drummer on the list idolizes Buddy Rich.
Bill Ward's solo in the song Rat Salad off the Paranoid album is Killer
Dave Abruzzese, Tommy Aldridge, Lee Kerslake are some of my favorites.
Buddy Rich is the greatest, and it's not close!
agreed
Yes. It's a subjective topic.
So happy that the rev is on here. Easily one of the best for me. So underrated.
R.I.P. Neil 'the professor's Peart.. The best there will ever be, end of.
my vote goes to Danny Carey...they are all excellent drummers~
I agree with you on Carey!
Carey, Peart and Portnoy are on
-> my
Yupp, for sure!
Here are some really good drummers ...and Now the absolute greatest of all time . Neil Peart 🤘. The Man. The legend !! .
Without question, Just in compositional skill alone Neil puts everyone else so far behind . . . . with every other drummer there is a degree or two of random-ness especially in their solos, well if anybody has ever heard a Neil Peart solo, they aren't going to be able to say that about that drummer
Peart easily the best drummer of all time. In a league of his own.
WOW what a sad case to lose a few of these legends past few years. My top drummers in my eyes VINNY PAUL ABBOTT ROCK IN PEACE, THE REV ROCK IN PEACE and JOEY FKING JORDISON ROCK IN PEACE with your boy PAUL GREY!!! LEGANDS in the METAL WORLD!!! All us Maggots are weeping today!!!!
Big Vin has been and will always be the best in my eyes. No hate whatsoever for the ones listed on this vid though. They are all excellent
How could Carl Palmer not be on this list
Thomas Haake from Meshugga is definitely on the list. Listen to "bleed"
Or Clockworks.
Jimmy A7x is still Legend
@WhoDarestheMAN gamer Why Is trash? Its a great band
How Many songs have you listened to buy them probably not enough that you can make her own opinion keep it to yourself
I know why it’s ok you listen to there first to albums
Thy are way better now yes joey is amazing to
Joey is better but the Rev is no that bad listen to almost easy and Beast and the harlot they are my favorite if you don’t like him then you don’t like them and that’s OK
The Professor, Neil Peart. RIP
Buddy Rich, John Bonham, and the Iate great Neil Peart are the best. Then there is the rest.
Oh how wrong you are!
Raymond Hearne of Haken does syncopations and odd signatures like no one else.
You think it's a coincidence, tons of drummers make his covers, of this unknown band?
Check Haken if you dare!
Pete Grusky nope hes right
@@fredscribner3688 Like you know Haken, eh?
Mike Portnoy, Neil Peart and Joey Jordison - are Gods in drummer world! Always in my heart, brothers❤ With great respect to yours, Brothers!
ok i got it
?? John Bonham ??
I SEE THE REV AND I CLICK THE VIDEO
R.I.P THE REV SULLIVAN
Keipawh
Neil Peart too RIP 😢
Same here!
oh shut the fuck up. super overrated.
@@itsmedante.5325 oh watch out guys. Keyboard warrior!
This is a great list of some of the best drummers to ever live!! Neal peart being the absolute best of all time. Watching him live is insane!!
Idc if people don’t like the music, the band, or Dave himself, but Carter Beauford is just as good as Peart. Anyone who says otherwise is biased and/or a hater or just hasn’t seen him enough. He’s fucking absolutely unreal.
Joey Jordinson 🖤
I’m a biased RUSH fan for 40+ years…..BUT….he’s still the GREATEST! R.I.P Professor……❤❤
Thomas Haake deserves to be on this list
I was thinking "where the hell is Tomas Haake" but it seems not many people recognize his skill level here in the comments. Maybe they haven't even heard of him.
Joey, Jay and Jimmy. My three favorite :)
Triple J
Im to bro.
Same
Same bro
Jay ?😂😂😂😂😂
Stewart Copeland was such an underrated drummer. His early years were way before its time.
Agree and consider Neil Peart was a huge Stew Copeland fan. Dude was legit
He is rated highly by all drummers and massive legions of Police fans. I would say if you think he is under rated, then you know fuck all about music.
@@Mustaine1ify it drives me mad that whenever there is a piece on any musician there is always one person that posts about how underrated they are. What they are actually saying is "I've never really heard much about this person, but I think they are good". These musicians may have achieved the pinnacle of success in the 70s or 80s or even 90s.
@@Ian666peace Yes sorry you are correct. I won't mention the U word again.
I believe stewart has a PhD in percussions
Mike Mangini is miles ahead of all of these drummers when it comes to timing, technicality, and polyrhythms. The guy is a machine. He's the only drummer in the world who can play three time signatures at once and also do it ambidextrously.
Hoooaamm, boring dude
@@andigunawan7920 Just because you aren't musically inclined and you give the rebuttal of a 12 year old it doesn't mean that there is someone else who can do the things he does on a kit. When the title suggests the word best when it comes to drumming Mike Mangini is it period. If you don't think he is then prove to me that he isn't... I'll wait.
See him live, good one. But I see and raise a Terry Bozzio
Very Solid List. The Professor at number one was a no-brainer. I was also glad to see Alex Van Halen on this list. Eddie always got the spotlight for his incredible guitar work but so many people overlooked just how awesome Alex was as well!!
Yea great list but really how did Ian Paice from deep purple not get mentioned 🤦🏾♂️
@@johnq7165 Thomas haake is 100% the most skilled drummer of all time and is so effortless about it but never gets mentioned 😒
@@carpetgymolyliftingagreed, not number one but easy among top 20 and Im swedish and listen to alot of Meshuggah..
Neil peart is another level though, so is Simon Phillips
From this video,,,,i choose Neil Peart as the best Drummer,,,, anyway Portnoy is My Fav drummer of all time.. 👍🏻👍🏻
Danny Carrey the best
Bro, hate to break it to ya...Dave Grohl isn't the drummer for Foo Fighters...lol...
Ryan Ritter should have put nirvana if going to add him to the list
If he put Dave Grohl he should’ve put the dude who inspired him and so many others to become drummers which is Ringo Starr
@@lemurcreemur8905 I agree with you but I still think Dave deserves to be on this list whether it's for Nirvana, Them Crooked Vultures or Queens of the Stone Age. (Dave has always claimed he's a drummer first and everything else 2nd, 3rd etc.) I would have omitted Keith Moon and put in John Bonham.
He did all the Instruments on the first record.
He was the drummer for first two albums, breakin' it to YOU.
Mike Portnoy and Joey Jordison are my fav drummers
There is no top ten drummer list without Buddy Rich that should be taken seriously.
the way buddy was i would be affraid he would haunt us all drummers after this list lololol
Or Joe morello
Jimmy The Rev will forever have a spot in my heart fr. RIP
Mike Portnoy, Neil Peart, and Danny Carey are the best 3 on the list.
Carey aint even top 10
R.I.P Jimmy Sullivan, always my fav drummer
Neil Peart all day. Playing fast doesn’t make you a good drummer, it makes a fast song a good song. Drummers for Pantera, Blink 182, Metallica and a few others have exceptional talent. Neil Peart is just on another level.
Neil is almost as good as Buddy Rich...almost
Gee Anzalone? Will Ferrell? John Dolmayan? Mike Wengren? Vinnie Paul?
Those are the real BEST DRUMMERS!
Dude Joey was literally a human drum machine R.I.P.
I’d have Rick Allen from Def Leppard and Lars in every top 10.
my favs is brooks wackerman, joey, jeremy spencer and the rev.
Bbbbbbhyhyh
Yaaasss
Did I really not see John Bonham? What a LOL list! 😂😂🤣🤣
Adlerjoseph Naulak but because of what he did for drumming is why he’s so highly regarded if there’s no Bonham none of the guys of this list you get me
Adlerjoseph Naulak i agree they are technically better drummers but you telling me you’d leave him out on a 10 best drummers of all time list ?
If you would leave him out they you don’t know what ur talking about my friend
Adlerjoseph Naulak people who study drums regard lars as one of the greats becuase of what he also did for drumming, drummers like that changed what it meant to be a drummer. Of course there’s people now who are technically better than lars and Bonham TECHNICALLY and only that. But on a list of ALL TIME you wouldn’t see the likes of Joey jordison or the Rev on there. I’m huge fans of them both but they can’t be regarded as one of the best of all time of ALL TIME
Bonham fue pionero en crear un sonido diferente is the best.
Where's Buddy Rich. His drumming was incredible. Legendary.
Young kids have a lack of respect for the past. So many jazz drummer's that blow some of these guys out of the water.
@@markmission9728 Very true Mark.
You mean where Bohnam
Buddy rich and others
@@markmission9728 yeah...sure...whole bunch of jazz drummers can "blow some of these guys out of the water"...which guys could blow which guys out of the water?
Neil Peart RIP , was the best ever drummer and lyric writer 40 yrs worth .
RIP the Professor and Drum God, the great Neal Peart!
There are so many overlooked drummers that are unique, passionate and all out amazing. Buddy Rich started it all, Sheila E such an amazing iconic and legendary drummer, Steve Moore...for gosh sakes the guy is an ANIMAL, Lars Ulrich, Phil Collins, Ron Bushy...omg his drum solo on In-A-Gadda-da-Vida is second to NONE, Charlie Watts legend and true gentleman my gosh there are so many! Unfortunately so much is being lost in the last two generations...it's so sad. OMG I almost forgot an amazing, young and animal on the drums is Daniel Wagner of Greta Van Fleet, Jason Bonham is genetically spectacular and last but certainly not least by any means is Jay Bellerose. He is spectacular and unique. His sound is such that when you hear him it's unmistakable that it is indeed him. Definitely one of my favorites!! Well there you have it. Google all of them and be amazed. They are worthy!!
Jay is the perfect guy to keep Joey’s legacy going
My favorite drummers Lars Ulrich, Joey Jordison, the Rev
When I tell you I've been scrolling for ten minutes looking for Lars Ulrich. Thank you.
