Kids and I were headed out to the pool and my car made a funny sound and the check engine light came on. 😞 we still went swimming 🏊‍♀️ then we went to autozone to get the code read
Ignition coil for cylinder 1 $84.00. Cost of labor. Zero thanks to my son for being a awesome helper and this great UA-cam channel My check engine light shut off and it’s running again,
my son and I had fun while working on this project together. I think he would make a good mechanic . I’m not a mechanic but this looked rather easy on the 15 min UA-cam video
Which must have been condensed because It took us 2 hours. 🤦‍♀️ but I’m still thankful we were able to get it done with the help of this video. Thanks

From experience, I would only purchase ignition coils from the dealer. I had a bad experience with some that I purchased on eBay. I thought I was buying original parts but ended being counterfeit and it cost me lots of money to buy the dealership coils which fixed my problem.

    Sorry had to say it.

    • @skorpyo331

Because maybe the spec requires the spark plugs to be changed at 120k miles and/or the check engine light is coming on, my situation.

They are not Idiot's they are Greedy, (They want you to have to rely on dealership repairs) . My wife is currently driving her third Gen Prius. I remember on her first or second Gen I had to remove the entire front lights and bumper cover just to replace the headlight bulbs. They are great on fuel savings, but for maintenance and passenger room (I'm six four & 270 lbs) I hate them, but I love my wife and I'm a mechanic so it is what it is.
