I own a 2009 Toyota Tacoma. 4 years ago my keyless remote stopped working. I replaced the battery and still did not work. I phone the dealer, Williams lake bc Canada and was told..$260 for the replacement, labor was $220 and reprogram was also $220...a $700 bill. Of course, I said I can live without it. This morning,I watched this video and tried what was said. It Worked!!! . I am going to call back that dealer and ..... well I will keep what I will tell them to myself. Thank you for making my day.
Great video, real time solution that worked for my 2009 Tacoma that has 109k miles. The fob quit working suddenly, I went to my local Florida dealer who told me the cost would be $99 For a diagnosis-which would NOT apply to any repair or parts-plus perhaps $200 for the actual repair or reprogramming! Or he would sell me a new key-also for $300! I nearly choked at such unmitigated avarice. THANK YOU, Tomahawk DIY!
MOST important point is that, when turning to ON need to turn ALL THE WAY ON, so that instrument panel lights light up (not cranking, of course). No other programming instructions made that clear, so I was getting close to paying toyota service $600 for B.S. replacing body ecm. Thanks!

I have a 2011 Tacoma TRD Off road with all of the bells and whistles.....It works! One happy camper thanks you! Keys are next, thank you for that video as well.
THANK YOU!!!! i just put new batteries in. nothing. called dealership who said i had to bring it in and probably get new fob. saw this...went out tried it..and fob works great! YOU ROCK!! thank you!!
Thank you Mike, I bought my 2007 Sienna with one remote not programmed, dealer asked for over $100. I kept the one for 10 years until I followed your video today. In 2 minutes I have programmed the keyless remote. Valuable video!
Worked perfectly for a Toyota 2007 4runner! For the key cutting I'd recommended going to a good locksmith and avoid big box stores like homedepot or ace who sometimes don't cut blanks that aren't their own. I got a blank first to test the fidelity of cutting first, then got my transponder key cut after programming it. Total cost was about $20 and a few hours of my time.

Your instructions worked like a charm! I'd tried to follow several other and nothing. I followed along with your instructions, Bam! Remote programed! Thank you!
This helped soooo much! Thank you for posting this! I tried it just like you did and now my fob works again! This was awesome and saved me a tooon of money if I took it to a dealership. $6 for a new battery and this tutorial just made my wallet happy.
I bought the GQ4-29T with 4D67 chip from Keyless2Go (Amazon) for my 2009 Matrix. There was a number for tech support, but instead I used your directions. Thanks so much.
I give 5-Stars to Toms Key, but not for getting some new FOBs programmed - Unfortunately, it didn’t work for me! The 5-Star rating is for their service! A few weeks ago I purchased 2 new FOBs and rented the programmer for my 2008 Toyota Highlander. (I recall when I bought the car new that even the dealer had issues with programming the FOBs using their computer). I had a few questions about programming the FOBs and William, from Toms Key, addressed my concerns. I made several attempts at programming and had a few back and forth e-mails with William. William reminded me on at least two occasions that they back up their products with a 100% refund guarantee. I finally conceded that this was not going to work for me. I packed up the FOBs and programmer and sent them back. A couple days later William sent me an e-mail saying that my refund was being processed. This is the kind of service that makes a company successful! Even though it didn’t work for me, I’d go back to them first for another car.
Great to hear! Glad to hear that it worked for your Toyota Avalon 2006. You're very much welcome! If you have any questions or need assistance in the future, don't hesitate to reach out at help@tomskey.com. Safe travels!
worked famously for 2006 Sienna. Received 2 fobs for $15 from Amazon, so this saved around $150 from what the dealer cost would have been for just one. PS - the van has a chipped key.
LOL 😂 excellent first time on this channel awesome my only problem is the music it wasn’t annoying but it made it difficult for me to listen to the music and listen to you at the same time lol but it was excellent thank you 🙏
Gid bless you mike .....yesterday mine stooed works ng on tacoma 2011.....i was readdy to go to mecanic and pay money.....luckelly i just folowed your video and it works.....thanks
I purchase a 2009 Tacoma few days ago and I went through this process to program a new remote and it didn't work. I noticed there was a blue blinking light near the bottom left panel where hood release latch was. It occurred to me that the previous owner must've installed a after market car alarm. Having said this, would this interfere with programming the new remote? Thanks.

I've not seen that before where lock/unlock work but the other buttons don't, unless there is a problem with the power assist to the doors. I presume the side and rear door y open with power assist when you push the buttons built in near the driver seat to open them?
Hi mate, I have 2 used remote which I keep when my 2010 Camry wrecked in an accident. It's exactly as same as you have got. Now I bought a Kluger 2010 model and it has same remote. Can I program that used Camry remote to the Kluger.
Good Vid! I watched a couple of these vids and this also worked for my Toyota Avalon 2007. I suspect they have the same programming as the Sienna, at least, they have the same engine! :) Great times, used the Link you provided, worked flawlessly when I got my model vehicle. @ $35 to get a new set of remotes! Because there's some Good times when you can DIY!

Glad to know it worked for your 2013 Scion XB. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out. Thanks for choosing Tom's Key Company!
Nice explanation. Is there same method for 2011 Rav4? I already have one key. In case of failure to setup program in new key; will this impact to existing working remote key? Thanks
Hi, not sure if you have a push button or not, but you may check this link to find your vehicle, we have a related video for the push button start tomskey.com/pages/toyota#rav4. Alternatively, you can reach out to us at help@tomskey.com for assistance. Also, this just ads a new key. No existing keys get erased
Very helpful video, really appreciated your heads up warnings & tips. Keep up the good work. As a suggestion the background music was distracting & too loud making it difficult to hear you.
Mike i only have the 2 original keys that contain the transponders. I see you are using a key without that. Can i still use these keys? Its just my one fob that is failing.
This worked perfectly and quickly! Thanks so much!!! Do you know how to get into a 2005 Toyota glove box without using the open handle? Either the lock tab is stuck locked or something is blocking it from opening from the inside of the glove box. Thanks.
Thanks for the video. I followed your instructions and got to the car into programming mode, pressed both the lock n unlock buttons on the remote, pressed the lock button but the car locks didn't cycle. I have done this severally to no avail. What could possibly be wrong?
Try repeating the procedure with the original remote. If that kicks out the new one you program, try clicking the Lock/unlock then lock buttons on both remotes after doing the procedure
This works perfect on a 2007 FJ Cruiser! I had an issue where it would cycle twice instead of once and then not work - but I just wasn’t doing it quick enough was all

Yes. Toyota stopped this method from working on vehicles starting about 2010. That led me to start TomsKey.com so people have an affordable way to make new keys and Fobs.

Worked on my 2006 Tacoma. Thanks! Now, I can trash the factory fob. I’ve tried programming it but it wouldn’t work.
I programmed a spare remote for my Sienna perfectly. Only problem is it deactivated the original remote that was in the house. Any thoughts.

Hey Mike. I have a 2020 sienna I just bought and need to program my Amazon fob. This way did not work. Do I need to rent your programmer kit? Gina
Yes. Toyota stopped this method from working on vehicles starting about 2010. That led me to start TomsKey.com so people have an affordable way to make new keys and Fobs.
