My wife and I rescued an Alabai from a shelter in Ukraine a year ago. He is now 4 years old, and his flock includes the humans of the house, the other dogs, the house cats, and our vet.
But let's be honest bro like fr most healthy timber wolves smashes a domestic dog. I've been on the dog side for years and it is dumb. They take down moose, bison and musk ox. Wolves are literal KILLING Machines. So no I dont think but they can in certain circumstances take down a wolf.
depends on the Wolf. a timber wolf would eat this dog in minutes without breaking a sweat. most wolves in Asia are smaller and often malnourished compared to timber wolves.
I was very surprised when we first got my baby at how aware he is of his size, especially when indoors. He absolutely knows how big he is. Which is especially cute when he play fights with our much smaller dogs, getting down and letting them bite his ears
I had Bull Mastiff and they showed well. They died of old age and it's took me a long time to want another dog but now I'm ready for another best friend and buddy.
I grew up with an Alabai, Ben (rip). An AMAZING family member. Definitely requires a strong hand to learn their place. But, as they are "scary", they are also extremely smart, fun and gentle. Very protective of their "family".
@@Kanti12311 my family got him as a puppy when I was in first grade and stayed with us till passing. I had a blast as a kid growing up with him. I had never have any situation in which I felt unsafe even when he grew up (unlike strangers on the street if they got too close to me and my dad when we were taking him for a walk). So from my personal experience I'd say yes. However, it is not a chihuahua. And definitely not a first dog to own!!!
@@AJOP1 Oh... it was a long time ago (thank you for reminding me my age 😁). From what I remember: In general he was very calm around the family at home, extremely smart and playful. At first you could mistaken him for a huge teddy bear. HOWEVER, extremely protective! He would not bark unless someone came too close to our windows (we lived on the first floor in a large condo - which is a bad idea for this type of dogs due to mental and physical harm - they need to be outside). Walking with him was not a simple task. We had a muzzle on him at all times when outside. So, my dad would walk him out mostly at night, when less people around so he could take the muzzle off. The dog is extremely powerful, so if my mom was the one walking with him she would do so ONLY where trees were found. Because, if God forbid there is a cat or another dog or a person who would seem suspicious, our dog would engage immediately. So, my mom would wrap the leash around a tree, otherwise he would just drag her wherever his heart desired. More things I could tell, but to summarize: THIS DOG CAN and WILL KILL if not educated and handled appropriately. Definitely NOT for unexperienced owners!!!

If i wasnt so old, I'd love to have my next dog be of this breed . Ive always owned large dog breeds and always wanted an Alabai or Tibetan Mastiff. They are beautiful animals
