My Pitbull Terrier was a red nose. I rescued him from a woman when he was 18 months old. She was going to take him to the pound. I brought him home. So intelligent. I think he wasn't treated well before we got him. He was highly scared of the broom and hated people. I mean hated them. Only my family of 4 could be around him. And any animal I brought into the home he guarded. Every time I brought home baby chicks, he'd immediately sit and watch over them. Last year I brought home baby chicks and our cat walked over to look into the tote. Bruno (My dog) put his head between the cat the the chicks and gave him a "Back up right now" look. And the cat did. I trained my dog so much, unfortunately I could not get him to accept outside people. It caused him so much anxiety. To me, he behaved much like a livestock guardian. Like how you imagine a Kangal to give no craps about outsiders, and to just guard his own stuff? Like that. I could throw a piece of chicken and send him after it, and in mid chase tell him to "leave it" and he'd stop and look at me. and I'd call him away from it, treat him with a piece of chicken and then send him back out for the first piece, and he'd get to it and pause to wait and see if I'll call him off of it. He really was a wonderful dog with such an amazing temperament and personality. Bruno got sick in august 2022 and we had to say goodbye. He was 60lbs of pure unshakable Family Love, great personality, Intelligent, protective, and so so charming. We sing that song "We don't talk about Bruno..." But change some lyrics to "We won't forget about Bruno, no no..." Even now, as I think about him, I'm in tears. He's gone, but never forgotten and forever cherished.

I have an American Bully, got her when she was 3. She had never experienced cats beforehand and we had 4, so we had a bit of work. You could see her confusion when I would feed & pet them and a look of panic when they came up to her. They are now comfortable roomies. Good animal husbandry is always a key element.

There are other breeds much stronger or faster with bigger bite force. But it is the fact that they never let go of another dog’s throat even when they are being stabbed by that other dog’s owner that makes them what they are, the deranged serial killers of other canines.

There are plenty other breeds that are stronger. Stronger bite force. Quicker. Meaner then a real apbt. What makes the apbt shine is. No other dog is more eager to please its master and willing to die to please you. No other dog has the game. No other dog has the determination or athleticism. They say apbt have higher pain tolerance then other dogs but I don't believe it. I believe the abpt is just more determined to endure the pain to complete there task to please you.

One of the problems, with pit bull terriers in particular, is that there is no margin for error. If an elderly woman is walking her Spaniel or Pomeranian or maybe miniature poodle and an APBT happens to be roaming free, it is almost 100% going to be a really bad outcome. These dogs are extremely powerful and almost always display unprovoked aggression in these sort of situations.
Added to that and this is unfortunate, the overwhelming majority of owners are thuggish, moronic types with combative, warrior type personalities. Yes, there are some responsible owners that manage their APBT responsibly, but, sadly, they are very much in the minority.
Ideally, local governments with the responsibility for registering ownership of dogs, should differentiate between the different breeds. Owners of dogs with the potential to do serious harm should be subject to very strict rules. The registering authority should demand very secure conditions on the property where the dog is housed. Fences and gates would need to be child proof to prevent the dog escaping and roaming unsupervised. The owners need to be vetted and anyone with a criminal record of violence or intimidation should be outright prohibited.
It should be made difficult for anyone to own these dogs and impossible for thugs and criminals.
Unfortunately, in this woke, politically correct world the dog licensing authority would not be allowed to discriminate against the breed of dog or the criminal owner. This allows the possibility to remain that, an elderly woman who pays her taxes and contributes to society in a positive way, will watch her beloved pet and companion killed in front of her eyes by an unsupervised APBT owned by a thuggish moron.
Thugs and criminals have a natural tendency to want the toughest, most violent dogs. You don't see these types of people with the abovementioned Spaniels or Pomeranians or miniature poodles. No, they have to own the meanest, toughest, most aggressive breeds.
Sure, no doubt these types of people are fully capable of loving their APBTs, but that love does not extend to anyone else or their dog.
Their egos demand domination of you and your dog and so only an APBT is good enough for them.

Agree 100% unfortunately the damage they can do is far more than a terrier or chihuahua. My dog had is neck ripped out in a first meeting with a pit bull. I have seen pitbulks watching small children about to attack. I know they are not all bad and some causes are genetics and owners lack of training. But you can't take the risk because of how much damage they can cause do.

Unprovoked aggression? Not in my experience with my APBT. She is distrustful of new dogs, but does not attack. If a dog attacks Her, She is able to protect Herself. I see so many people with aggressive and untrained small dogs. If they attack, they will get their worst nightmare. Pits always get the blame. I don't let mine around other dogs She does not know for this reason. I have three small small terriers. She loves playing with them and is very gentle. Fantastic family dog. With that said, She does have a strong prey drive, JUST like my small Terriers.
Edit, She loves people despite being abused as a puppy. No aggressive acts against people. Most affectionate dog I've ever had.

I'm thankful for this video. I'm 72, and had learned a lot about Pitties over the years but have never seen or encountered an American Bully. I've been a dog owner/lover my entire life. I've never owned a Pitbull but I've met hundreds of them. Years ago, I spent 20 years as a cop and we'd sometimes get "vicious dog" calls and when we showed up the dog was often a Pitbull. I think the fact those dogs barked a lot instead of being properly trained by their owners, along with their appearance, made people characterize them as "vicious." My whole life, dogs liked me right away, and I found that on those vicious dog calls that those dogs were actually very friendly - they had just not been properly raised to remain quiet and not to lunge at people. If they had, they wouldn't have been called vicious. I despise those who train dogs to fight. They are less than human and deserve to suffer the same fate their dogs do. The American Bully looks quite a bit different from the Pitbulls I've seen. I think by the size and muscling that there must be some Rottweiler bred into them. Perhaps I'm wrong. They are a handsome breed though and I can see where they'd make a pretty imposing sight for any burglar peering through a window or fence.

So last summer, my son and I were at an Animal Shelter and were charmed by a bright-eyed, fairly calm dog, who was a bit malnourished and under exercised. After a few months of hearty food and exercise, we realized we had an American Bully Classic. His personality is 100% relaxed with family, 75% relaxed with children he doesn't know, and 100% leery of any adult he doesn't know. If an unknown adult approaches him, he will back up and give a warning bark. Once he settles in, he seems to read off my energy and accept any adult around me. Treats help. Yes, this dog sleeps a lot during the day, but is a ball of energy in the evenings.

Unfortunately, some American jurisdictions do ban American bullies. It’s not a direct ban, but I have seen ban language specifically naming pit bulls then stating that dogs that sufficiently resemble pit bulls are also banned. This wording is to cover pit bull mixes and related breeds. Anyone living in a city where a pit bull ban is in effect and wanting to get an American bully should call their city and confirm that a pit bull ban does not apply to the dog they want to get.

Nice video but in fact it is the combination of how they are raised and managed with their genetics that determines how they behave. If you raise a golden retriever and a Caucasian shepherd the same way, you still won't get dogs that behave the same. Owners need tobe aware of their breed's genetic predispositions and manage them with prevention in mind. If you have a pittie you need to socialize it very well with other dogs and be careful about putting it in situations that might trigger fighting instincts. If you have a flock guarding breed like a Caucasian you need to put tons of effort into human socialization and obedience/ manners while at the same time not expecting it to be super friendly with strangers.

I had never wanted an American bully as I preferred breeds like the husky or German shepherd. One day I stopped at a local pawn shop. When I entered a bell rang and an American bully walked out from behind the counter. As it walked toward me it's expression changed from "I just woke up" to "I'm glad to see you, new friend". It stopped right next to me and look up at me clearly wanting attention. I pet him for a while and carried on with my business.
When I was leaving another customer walked in, the bell rang, and right on que the bully approached him the exact same way. When the dog looked up, the man offered a quick smile and carried on his way. Without any pets, and clearly disappointed, the bully hung it's head low and began it's journey back to the counter. I crossed paths with the dog on my way out, and pet him a few more times to make up for the other customer. With one last look of happiness from the bully, I left knowing I now need a husky, a German shepherd, and an American bully.

However, I have an pit bull/am staff, regardless. Someone could no longer care for him as a young puppy, and I decided to take him as my 2 other dogs were aging/aging and sick. He has been a great dog, just naturally a bit aggressive. I know his triggers and effectively control him, therefore there have been no "accidental" bites to dogs or other animals or humans. I would gladly also rehome a pitbull were it not banned in the UK.

@@stactionsmedia3318I'm pretty sure Pitbulls will never be eradicated because when properly raised they are so wonderful and also truly unique. As a former dog walker I can say that I've never personally walked a hostile Pitbull nonetheless I concur that they are incredibly strong , agile and alert and are also very high energy dogs. They must be properly socialized, properly exercised and properly led. However these traits aren't what make them so potentially dangerous. There are 2 qualities Pitbulls have in the extreme that do make the Pitbull potentially quite dangerous. First is their unmatched desire to please their humans. Pitbulls utterly and completely adore their humans and put them on a pedestal like no other dog breed. They will do anything to please their humans. Second is their unmatched resilience. Their ability to endure pain and disappointment and even abuse and still keep going or at least bounce back is simply otherworldly. As anyone can understand these 2 traits are also what make the Pitbull so potentially wonderful. They are the quintessential dog breed whose bodies are wagged by their tails when you walk in the door. No other breed is more over-the-moon to be greeting their humans. Your Pitbull will herald your entrance as if it's a once in a lifetime magnificent event every time you walk in.

Thank you for this video! I over the years have had a Basset Hound, Labs, Mutts and Pittbulls. While some traits may be more common in certain breeds I am of the utmost belief that each dog is also an individual. I've had papered Labs that wouldn't touch water and others that I had to literally pull out of the lake or else they would have probably swim till they drown. Some of my dogs though everything and everyone was thier friend while others where guarded and aloof. Ever notice when meeting a dog on a walk how different individual dog reactions are? It amazes me how owners get embarrassed if their dog is aloof when meeting me. I simply tell the owners that I don't necessarily like everyone I meet either and just like us a dog is an individual! No apologies necessary! One trait that all of my Pits have shared is extreme loyalty. Pit bulls taugh me the importance of positive reinforcement in training. Although all three Pits have been different in personality I have found that negative reinforcement either shut them down or resulted in them being frustrated/destuctive. My Pits also taught me how to better communication with all dogs. All it takes is a look or slight hand gesture from me for them to understand what I want. I also can read dogs better because my Pits were so loyal and in "Tune" with me it helped me learn the "language" . All of my dogs have taught me unconditional love. My Pits gave/give an additional level of loyalty. It is our responsibility as dog owners to respect and nurture those traits no matter what the breed. We have no excuse for using that love and loyalty for destructive and evil purposes. A dogs love is pure.

Mighty fine video here. It really does represent both dogs well. One thing, though. This video has the admittedly more mainstream theory that pit bulls are a mix of terrier and bull baiting bulldog. To be honest, I do not believe anyone knows for complete certain the history nor does it really matter at the end of the day. That being said, with absolutely no disrespect to this video, there is another theory shared with two very well known and respected people within the pit bull circle that have been involved with the pit bull breed for decades and decades. Their names are Mr. Richard F. Stratton and Ms. Diane Jessup. They believe that the American pit bull is the bull baiting bulldog. This video here even says how they were used for bull baiting. There would have been no reason to add terrier to dogs that needed to have the gameness and agility to face and avoid being trampled or gored by bulls simply to use them for facing each other. A dog that would face a bull would also be able to face another dog. Since the video tells use pit bulls did both, we know that a dog can both be good at bull baiting and dog-against-dog contests.
Diane Jessup has said in one of her books, "The dog called 'English bulldog' today is a show bred animal developed well AFTER baiting was banned. Dogs with the bracycephalic nose and short, wide, deformed body of the show bulldog never were typical of animals used for bullbaiting. Rather, the true bull-dog was a 40 to 65 pound dog, long of leg, with a strong, medium, working muzzle, and a long, thin tapering tail. The watercolor above is by Thomas Rowlandson [1756-1827], who sketched scenes of English life, and often drew butchers, baiters, dog fighters and their dogs. The above is entitled The Bull Bait and shows the riff raff typical of baiting sports and their bull-dogs; identical to today's American pit bull."

There will always be a dog that has a mental problem that makes them dangerous and you must identify them as an owner and either get him or her the training they need to break the bad habbit, or give the dog to someone who will!!!

As a breed the American pit bull terrier was used for bull and bear batting wich became illegal in 1835 then the breed became the preferred choice of dog fighter's. This continued for many years
As a common activity antel the animal welfare acts made dog fighting illegal in 1975 making it a little less common.
It wasn't antel 2007 that the activity became a felony wich resulted in a large decrease in the blood sport.
Now the American pit bull terrier is commonly used by hunters as a catch dog for hunting hogs.
With activities such as these being a huge part of the breeds history the American pit bull terrier like all dog's of a pure breed have certain traits Physically and mentally that are More common than not. I actually am surprised to read so many folks understand that some breeds are genetically predisposioned for aggressive behavior that can't be taken out of them no matter who trains them or how much socializing is done with the dog! It's a sad but true fact that needs to be taken seriously instead of being swept under the rug like everyone wants to do just because some people have met a few nice ones in the breed line! Last but definitely not least, the breed is discriminated against because they are responsible for more than 65percent of attacks on humans are from pits. In the USA that's our facts about the breed! I've been around them my entire life and experienced both types, aggressive and non,as well as broken up fights of random dogs while walking down the street! I honestly believe that these new bully's are the only way to reassimilate the reputation of the breed because most folks don't know the difference between them, which is actually going to work out well for the pit bull breed. Also we are seeing less and less of actual pitbulls around here in California. The amstaff is still big around the major cities because they are charging too much for these bully's but they're a different breed altogether.

He was likely given steroids (had high liver counts commonly seen in dogs on steroids) to bulk him up even more. He is fearful when eating and drinking water. We brought him to an animal behaviorist at a university near our home. They said food was likely used as a lure in traumatic situations. We cannot move or look at him when eating or drinking or he stops (though he's improving). They told us this dog was "brutalized." Though he is very shut down except in certain places (like my office, my husband's office and doggie daycare), he is the most gentle 90 lb boy (20 inches at the withers) I have ever met. My xl bully is one hell of a happy 100lbs ''little'' guy. He's very protective, I would not deny its potential ''danger'' BUT those dogs, when bred and educated in a responsible and loving way are the most balanced, tempered and self controlled I've ever come across in my life. I trained a lot of dogs, with sometimes amazing results, sometimes fails too... But nothing comes close to an american bully when you want a caring gentle giant with attitude. They are tender, sensitive and VEEERY loyal dogs. The only way you could get in real trouble with them is if you would have bad intentions towards what they consider their clan. Better not mess with their ''family'' that's for sure. This does not make them a ''dangerous'' breed in any way. Any normal person could turn into a killer in very specific citcumstances. And that would be considered as heroic behaviour. They are like the best among us in that way. If they are part of the few real heroes left in this world, please keep them from having to constantly fight against people's ignorance and/or stupidity because of a tarnished reputation solely due to idiot breeders or ego tripped owners. I LOVE my big boy like crazy. He's a real brother to me. That's how fantastic those companions are. Sorry for the rant.

Most pitbulls I have known have been very loving, playful and friendly. All were from loving homes, raised by various friends and people I've known over the years. All however had at least one incidence of violence or aggression in the past- biting people, killing cats, attacking horses.
Pitbulls kill twice as many people per year than all other breeds combined. Pitbull injuries can be horrific. Statistically someone is killed by a pitbull in America every 28 days. Since bull baiting became illegal, dogs were pitted against each other. Retrievers retrieve, heelers will nip your heels even if theyve never seen a cow. similarly pitties were bred to fight. People make the mistake of thinking they can love the violent fighting instincts out of a breed of dog bred specifically for violence. Though they are rarely vicious and generally well natured, thet can snap, even after being a perfect pet and family dog for many years and raised in ideal environments.

      Retrievers retrieve bc of genetics

Thank you for presenting the FACTS. I own a mixed breed, a beagle bull, half beagle and half pit bull. He looks like a giant beagle, but just tan and white, no black fur. He is a very sweet gentle boy, who has made friends with all my neighbors and gets along very well with all the other dogs he meets. He does exhibit the beagle's wanderlust, and the stubbornness found in both the beagle and pit bull, but with gentle persistence on my part, he has become pretty much a home body who stays around my little farm and doesn't wander miles away as he did when I first got him. (here in the Smokey Mountains we let our dogs run free) Now his favorite activity is to snuggle up to me when I am sitting in my recliner, and play 45 pound lap dog !

Still not a huge fan of pit bulls since I’ve been beaten by one badly. I had two other close calls with pits as well and my friend was bit on his face by a pit Bull as well. They don’t deserve poor treatment but some pit bulls aren’t too good of dogs due to bad owners or there past life. Unfortunately for me and my friends who were victims of pit Bull attacks, I won’t be able to feel comfortable getting close to one or even adopt one due to me being in fear of them. Don’t get me wrong, I met some good pit bulls but was still nervous or fearful of being bitten again by the dog. I hope the pit bulls do get some sort of positivity and light by showing more of there positive energy.

Hold on a second. I have several and do not agree with fighting. But I had to begrudgingly admit that it is the fact that they were bred specifically for fighting and nothing else for 200 years that produced this amazing dog. Ironic, and hard to accept but none the less true.

A dog is as good and social as his human master, you can mold them as you want them to be. Why this breed is so popular? Because they're loyal until death, courageous, powerful, athletic and will not give up. Last but not least absolutely wonderful, loving, goofy and funny companions.

Fact is, Pitbull Terriers are not for everyone and on top of that, breeding needs to be controlled and owners need to be selected and educated. It would be a shame to either lose this fantastic breed or have it turned into couch potatoes without the old traits, just because people don't know how to handle them.

She understands cause/effect and sequencing better than most 6 year old humans. She loves all animals and is relatively un-bothered by any kitty cat intruders into her yard. She is gentle with her elderly and much smaller brother (at 100lb she has 85lbs on him), even when he is being a snappy grouch.
She was gifted to me from my daughter and son in law. It's ironic that the greatest person to ever grace my life is the person who brought me together with the greatest animal I have ever known.

I wanted a pitbull for years. I think they are beautiful.
I know all of them are not bad dogs. I know most of it has to do with how they are raised. I've just been recently looking into getting a family dog. My first choice was a pitbull...of course. So I just started doing research. I couldnt ignore the rate of fatal pitbull attacks. There are so many fatal & near fatal pitbull attacks, and a lot of them the owner says "he/she was always a sweet dog then she/he just snapped". Now I know it's highly likely that owner just didnt see the signs. I know it's possible there actually were none. But I came to the decision to not get one because I have a 9 year old and 16 year old, and I cant take the chance. They are such powerful dogs, so when they do bite they do a lot of damage. And the rate of pitbull attacks is very high. Too high to be ignored. I think there is something there. I wish there would be some research done to figure out why there is such a high number.
My brother had 2 pitbulls. The female lived until she was 13, and the male 14. If I could have a clone of her, I would. I LOVED that dog so much. I loved both, but she was special. The most AMAZING and smartest dog I've ever known. There are so many stories i could share of how amazing she was. Before her, I didnt know dogs could be so amazing. She was very scary looking. She looked like she would tear u to bits just for looking at her wrong. She was 75lbs of pure muscle, white & tan, with sky blue eyes, they were almost white. She was a beast. But so gentle with kids, and didnt have a mean bone in her body. The male was kinda a big dummy. He was very hyper, and would lick all the kids in our family so hard he would knock them over. He was an asshole. We all joked that he acted just like my brother. An arrogant asshole!

Wrong dude the American pitbull is not a new breed from the dogs that came over to America how ever the English staff is a product of show breeding selected to represent one of Staffordshire's best known fighter think his name was Buster, if you look at the Irish staff of today they look more similar to the red boy dogs since the red boy dogs are more heavily bred on the irish lines going back in history, in turn are more pure bulldog than the lines from Staffordshire( England) who tend to be slightly more terrier although the terrier influence is very minute since the terriers used were mostly bulldog already and some terrier breeders of that time would use terriers that have like 75% bulldog blood for gameness and bravery to go to ground and also don't get confused about Bulldogs cause the English bull dog was only bred way after bull baiting was outlawed in 1835 basically there was no use for the true bulldog(pit bulldog) and with the gold rush in USA people were taking there dogs with them leaving only a hand full of true Bulldogs that were already limited owned by gamblers(dogman) and farmers and after 1835 seeing a bulldog in Ireland or England was a rare sight so a few fanciers of the time decided to create there own bulldog used some pug blood in them that's how the bracephiliac face and screw tail emerged. If you look at the Elano Espanyol, Ça de bou or even pitbulls that are about 35kg (70lbs +- ) you should have a dog that represents a bulldog in its truest form nothing else got it! Just remember dogs were bred for purpose and named after that purpose. Just also remember that an English bull terrier is in fact a pit bull x with a white terrier with some dalmatian blood thrown in.

Thank you so much for differentiating between these two breeds more people need to see this video so they can get some education on it but also pits are prone to dog aggression and animal aggression some are more watered down and will be animal and dog selective as my old pit bella was she loved most other dogs and absolutely hated chickens but pits are definitely not a breed for novice dog owners if your going to own one do alot of research and make sure you as its owner can handle such a powerful dog amd control it properly train and social them and youll have the best dog you can ask for but i believe before getting any breed of dog you should do research on everything about the breed so you know what your getting into even if its just a chihuahua

My mom used to repeat the myths about pitbulls and their "locking jaws" and I could never convince her away from her fear of them. Then I adopted one from a shelter, brought her over in her pink coat with the fur on the hood. Overtime, she has grown to love my pitbull so much and it wasn't people that could convince her otherwise about her breed but the dog herself.

Thankfully the ban was lifted we were able to get Rome. He's amazing around people loves to play and still cuddles and sleeps like a puppy. He's 2 and we love showing people how gentle and lovable he can be at his dog park. Not much experience around American bullys but if they're anything like Rome I can't tell anyone why they shouldn't buy, adopt, or rescue either.

I love the American Pit bull terrier and I can also give you a whole list of reasons why the majority of people shouldn't own a American pit bull terrier. American pit bull terriers are a pure breed of working dog that have been registered with the ADBA since around 1909.
They are also registered with the BFKC and SDR and UKC. With the ADBA BFKC and SDR being the most respected.
UKC has lost alot of respect within the APBT community because of the number of American Staffordshire Terriers and mixed dog's that are registered as American pit bull terriers the.
UKC has a large number of pitterstaff Also the breed standards set by the UKC. For the American Pit bull terrier is better suited for the American Staffordshire Terrier.
People that Have dog's registered with the other registeries won't breed their dog's with those that are UKC registered.
      Often referred to as the
Gamebred American pit bull terrier which is what you will see registered with the ADBA BFKC and SDR. Purebred American pit bull terriers.
Before the breed was known as the American pit bull terrier. They were used for bull and bear baiting that became illegal in 1835. Then the breed became the preferred choice for dog fighting and ended up registered as American pit bull terrier by the ADBA.
Anyway we'll just say from 1909 all the way antel dog fighting was made illegal in 1975 the American pit bull terrier had been selectively bred for success in the pit/box. Dog fighting has played a huge part in the development of the breed dispite what anyone says the American pit bull terrier was bred for dog fighting throughout the majority of the breeds history.
By dog fighter's selecting the dog's that did the best in fights as the dog's that they would breed. Selectively breeding fighting dog's for more than 75 years which was how the breed was bred antel 2007 when dog fighting became a felony that is when it became where it wasn't worth it for breeders to test dog's in the pit before choosing them to breed.
As with all purebred breeds there's a consistency that is expected with the physical appearance of the breed And the mentality of how the breed should act.
With the American Pit bull terrier.
We should expect a medium sized dog between 45lb-60lb some can be heavier but that is not the average.
Short coat in all colors except Merle although alot of people in the APBT community agree that blue is not a color produced by the American pit bull terrier.
A slim Muscular athletic build. A scissor bite long tail ears natural or cropped.
American pit bull terriers are a high energy level dog that has a high prey drive determined and intelligent they should have a good disposition towards people. This part is important
SOME LEVEL OF DOG AGGRESSION IS EXPECTED.

Real APBT are animal aggressive. Even raised with love and effection. One must be very carefull. I would never allow my APBT to be off leash around Other dogs. And let me add this, added on 7-13-2021. Just because a dog or Apbt is animal agressive or has high prey drive doesnt mean that the dog is agressive towards dogs for no reason. I took mine to the dog walk/park on leash of course and he met lots of dogs and didnt have no issues, he is very confident, high prey drive and no problems. I would never let him run loose because that a problem waiting to happen and besides that he plays really rough. Actually he did get jealous when another dog wanted to say hi to me. My dog pushed him out of the way and growled but didnt attack. So agressive dog even pitbull does not mean attack everything that moves and it does not mean lack of judgement on the dogs part. I still wouldnt let a working Apbt loose because the dog would probably get into trouble. Mine definitely would.

@@alphaarx3055 It's not a fault. The working blood line APBT is animal aggressive, just all working dogs have their traits, working live stock guardian dogs are the way they are. And right on down the line. Now that doesn't mean that if you have a working APBT and its a family companion and is raised with other dogs that it will always be aggressive, but strange dog is a whole different thing. That was good info as it pertains to facts but I noticed that you spoke about 3 bulldog types used to create the Am. Bully and yet you showcased the XL Am. Bully. The bullies you showcased in this video were merle and tri colored coated dogs which does not indicate bulldog traits at all. In fact, the coat colors exhibited in those dogs are of mastiff breeds such as the Corso, Rottweiler (tri coat), Catahoula bulldog and the Alapaha blue blood bulldog (merle) that was crossed with the Am. Staff/apbt crosses back in the mid 90', except for the Alapaha bulldog, which is the more recent cross added to the XL Am. Bully and what we're seeing a lot of in present. I think that would be a good topic to touch on in future videos, "the coat coloration and temperament of breeds that incorporate the Am. Bully"...

Dog fighting is what made them what they are. Gameness is something most don't understand. A game dog is a tough dog. It can get torn apart protecting you and let you stitch it up and just lay there. They also let children pull on their ears poke their eyes, pull their tales and many things and not flinch or barely flinch. My pit broke up an attempted robbery about 100 yards from Dade County line in Florida where they were banned. 65 pound brindle. They robbed the 7/11 a week before. They dropped off by my house and my dog was raising chaos in his bark and I walked out to see and seen two dudes jump out of a car and run across the open field by the water tower towards the double drive through conscience store. The dude in the car had his head lights off and sitting in his car at the stop sign by my house. It was just after dark and I could see from the store lights two figures running towards the store. I said Bengal watch em. He went full lit. I said Bengal get em. He took off across the field after the two dudes and the dude in the car seen it and flashed his headlights and raced over to the store while honking his horn. They had a descent head start so they were able to get into the car before my dog got them. I got there as they left and grabbed my dog while the store worker called broward county sheriff to report an attempted robbery. That same dog even made the news in miami about leash laws and it showed me and my wife walking little puppy Bengal and our other lab mix gypsy years ago. I miss that dog dearly.

He wasn't a fighting dog but he was a bullet. I knew what his genetics were and behaved responsibly. What I would give today just to have a line from the past. Boomerang was a legend down in Florida before rednoses got big. Bengals father was a rednose but his mom was a brindle. Danger zone bloodline was big down there.
