Very well done! I owned one, she was 62% wolf and 38 % GSD. I didn't have the proper housing for her. I was very lucky she only escaped a couple of times. I never knew what I was coming home to. I had her for over 15 years, and she was one of the highlights of (almost) every one of the days I had her. She was destructive, she was timid around humans (other than her pack). She liked other dogs, until they realized she wasn't a dog and she got bit a few times. She then didn't like other dogs other than the ones in our house. She would let them know by growling, baring her teeth and pretending to go after their face. She never bit another animal except to teach them lessons when they were puppies (nipping like a Mother would). It's been over four years, and I miss her every single day. I know how lucky I was to have had her. I know how lucky I was, because she could've been much more destruchitive and it would've been easy for her to run away. I was never so attached to a creature in my entire life. I knew I was coming home to something I'd have to spend time cleaning every time I walked in the door, but I always looked forward to just seeing her. There was something so special in the way she looked into my eyes, It's like she was looking into my soul, and no one will ever understand who I am, the way I feel she did.
As a owner (better partner) of a tschechoslowakian Wolfdog: this is the best blog i have ever seen about wolfdogs - thank you for that, your engagement and sorry for my English
Great video guys, it's nice to see a sanctuary that is pro ownership and tries to educate people to be responsible owners
We do our best to ensure people are educated so that most wolfdogs can get the quality of life that they deserve. Thank you for your comment and support!
So refreshing to see content like this from a sanctuary. I have a mid content and a brand new high content pup and have really enjoyed your videos! Y’all do great work.
People fall in love with these beautiful animals and have no idea what they are getting into. The average dog owner wouldn't even be able to handle the German Shepherd/Husky/Malamute part. Don't shop for looks. Get a dog that actually fits into your life. Also often you don't know how much wolf there is actually in them or if they are gonna be more like a dog or more like a wolf.
Had grey wolves. Now a Czech wolf hybrid : intense!!!! Adopted him. ❤ my wolves lived 17 years. ❤
How BEAUTIFUL they are!
I love how Kuna and Zeuse adopted Novas as thier own! They are so precious. Thanks for the work you are doing!
Wolfs are just amazing animals it depends where you live to have them you still have to have them fence in except in your house 🐺💯👍
Great to see another channel other than ours trying to help educate the community about wolf dogs.
Great video! I have a Coywolf that comes to visit me from time to time!
Awesome animals! Thank you for the video.
Beautiful wolfdog
Wish you had more subscribers this content is so interesting. I've learnt so much. Thank you for sharing your knowledge

Awesome episode!
This channel is amazing
Cute dogs ❤
Lake Tahoe Wolf rescue . ❤
I love My nova❤
Love y’all 🎉
I am confused. Where I live, all young women are morbidly obese, with tattoos, pierced noses and purple hair. Get with the times.
I love your snow white wolf
Your welcome I love watching the wolves
I bought a 8 week old Husky/Wolf yesterday (Dad Pure Red Husky + Mom Husky/Wolf)
Let the intrusive thoughts win and bought without research but really putting in the work to set up for success with diet research, training, socializing and etc.
Would appreciate any tips or advice moving forward!
So how did that go for you?
@@randerson5172 actually pretty great! He’s super good around other dogs and he’s cautious around new people but warms up quick!
He’s very protective around my daughter and now they are like best friends so it’s cute
Be aware of subtle behavior they show, e.g. before prey drive kicks in. They always try to create an amazingly deep bond with their owner, since they heavily rely on their owner to see if a given situation is good or bad, and will prevent some flight behavior if not all flight behavior.
Aware of the fact they never should be cut only combed since they have a double coat. Cutting the hairs under their paws might be necessary at times since in urban areas it can cause them to walk wrong.
Having Siberian Huskies and Saarloos wolfdogs myself, plus a second nest is on its way.
Have had wolves for over 20 years. I adopt! Do your research.
10:49 I live in a van (vanlife) and the forests of the world are my back garden. Do they really need a crate in a van to be in with me.
As a owner of a tschechoslowakian Wolfdog, I think that your lifestyle is good for this breed. Maybe you have to get e mobile fence that you can put around of your van... (Sorry for my English)
😍😍❤❤🥰🥰
They are an incredible amount of work they have to have meat kibble is no good. They lack an enzyme to digest carbs . My breeder required a full year of study.
How can I get or adopt a wolf dog puppy in the USA
can most vets verify via blood tests?
Wouldn't a wolfdog make a pretty GREAT hunting hound,if properly trained and domesticated? Especially since hunting together should increase the bond between human and animal, aswell as help facilitate pack dynamics? I mean, after all that IS what our ancestors did..
My opinion: no, don't learn a wolfdog hunting, they make their own decisions and ignore your commands if it makes no sense for them. I educated my wolfdog, to not hunt.
@@claudehelfer8790 I talked about this with a few dog people. Professionals. Most agree it's not a good idea. But it's because they would be scared of basically everything "human". Shotgun shot, other humans, cars etc. too bad really. But most agree you could technically teach them to hunt with you,but ONLY you. Maybe for bow hunters, this might be viable.
You got to get them around strange humans nearly every day for a year .
Good advice for people. As a Wolf dog myself I would add that these thoughtful considerations are appropriate for any dog adoption. Not just hybrids like me. If you don't have the time to spend on this incredible journey, then do not get one. Unless you are incomplete and unhappy without the love and companionship that only a Wolf dog experience can bring to you take up some other activity. And you will have to make a choice. It will come to that. My human loves me above all others. Because I bring him love, joy, laughter and happiness more than all others.
5:20 why did the adult wolf lick Nova's genitals? Was it to clean it the way they lick their own genitals?
Yes, it's to ensure the hygiene and cleanliness of the puppy!
They are alot of work my uncle said lol. Loved her to death but she was always stand offish lol. She decided when she wanted to be petted or when she wanted to spend time with you.
Fam just rescued a high high content pup we know nothing ab them im i fucked??
My girl is still super shy with the public, but now is more dog like.
I really wish you'd say more to actually discourage ownership, considering 90% of them end up euthanized within 2 years of being born. I'm not totally against ownership but everything said in this video makes them sound like just another difficult dog such as a Malamute or Husky.
No 38 nobody should discourage the idea of having a wolf pup it's how you treat all animals you mistreat and abused or neglect even abandoned them they Will come back at you with vengeance and they will be in there right to turn on the owner that is cruel to them I don't care what type of animal it is
You SHOULD PROMOTE ADOPTION!!! You should be telling people to go to their local SHELTER AND SAVE A LIFE!!!! No one needs a wolf dog, a wolf is not a pet and there’s thousands of DOGS DYING AT AMERICAN SHELTERS EVERY DAY!!
Like
How much the puppies?
Would like a male puppy with timber wolf bloodlines... Not from a farm mill where they treat them like rats n live in piss poor environments
Most people cant even handle a dog, dont buy these things! Stop promoting em! If the wolf content is enough you will not be happy with em.
People having wolfdogs are normally the ones being very aware of what wolfdogs are. Second nest: Siberian Husky x Saarloos Wolfdog on its way here, 95% of the people interested in one of our first nest's pups received a no go. For the love of the wolfdog we are brutally honest. It is our responsibility towards them.
Basically anyone breeding wolfdogs around here check if a potential new owner would be a good match for a wolfdog. Often also looking if the specific personality of the pup matches the new owner.
