They Did! I think those like me that have an original in pieces will love being able to just go wheel the mini and have a great time remembering the good ol days!
I had the pleasure of meeting Ron Rossetti one of the designers of the prototype jrx2. He came into the hobby shop I was employed at to say hi to the owner. In hand he had the hand machined all aluminum jrx2 prototype. I’ll never forget that meeting.
Man I'm blown away and excited to see this release! Bought my first Team Losi JRX-2 back in 1989 when I was a Team Driver for my LHS. Won a ton of races with it. I had to do the rear arm conversion on it to replace the 5-link rear suspension. THIS was the buggy that gave many Team Associated RC-10's in my area a run for their money! Can't wait to pick one of these classics up and display on my shelf next to my OG JRX-2 that currently lives a happy life on my shelf!
Man, looking at this cements my thought that modern day 2wd and 4wd rc buggies are just BUTT UGLY!! What happened?? This thing (along with all the Kyosho Legend Re-Releases)is beautiful!!
dude the classic rc cars from 1990 to 1980s look so sick! and this looks just like a classic rc car and it has the perfect speed for my school show and tell.
AWESOME!!!!! I switched from my RC10 to the Jrx-2 sometime in 89 or so. It wasn't brand new but new enough. I instantly retired the RC10 and turned it into a RC10T eventually and kept racing the X2. Had Schumacher tires all the way around. The 4x front tires made it go around the dirt tracks much better. So many awesome memories. I might have to get this just for fun.
I got very recently (as a middle aged guy) into RC as we got our daugether an Arrma Mojave ( which was a bit of an overkill - and a steep curve for me repair-wise), but it got me really interested and I got a blue JRx2 for Christmas (boys will be boys). I love it. What really impresses me how good the throttle control is and how incredibly small the turning circle is - both together mean that one can run this car indoors very easily - just get some marking plates, set up a track and learn. In my view this is a great car for a beginner to learn to drive and learn basic maintenance (shocks, etc). I don't have the urge to tune the car - I would rather get a 1:10 or 1:8 brushless car later and keep this for the tighter spaces. I really think that Losi nailed this one - it may serve as a drive down the memory lane for some and excellent first car for others. I am in the later category. It will not be my only car for the long run, but for now I need to lern to drive and for that this car is perfect. I think it may profit from a bit thicker oil in the rear and maybe longer and a bit stiffer springs, but it is not a must - certainly not for indoor/flat tracks.
Love those closeup shots!!!! By far the best video I've found on the JRx2. Great job! This is on my Christmas list and makes me smile everytime I watching it run.
@@LosiRacing Anything new in 1/36th would be great. Also bringing back parts support for the originals would be amazing. I'd love to get my old micros up and running again without paying scalper prices for parts
I had a Tamiya Fox. The Losi came out just after and really changed RC from there. I'm getting one of these, they are just too cool and as you said, brings back memories.
I was never able to grab a JRX2, always been pricey kinda like the gold pans, but they’ve always looked like a ton of fun! I really need to get one of these little revamps!
I owned the original JRXT and JRX2 as well, even raced against the shakiest Radio in the West, Gil Losi Jr in Dallas! Love they kept the trailing arms, this brings back great memories!
I ordered the black JRXPro. I love the black with pink wheels. Like you said, I wonder if they’ll make a brushless one with the Pro name. I don’t care how slow it is, look at that motor decal! That’s staying in there! How cool!
I was 10 years old when the original was first released. I only had Kyosho and Traxxas money back then. Two stick radios with the three foot chrome antenna. I did eventually manage to get one. Back then, you were either a Losi guy or Associated. I’m still a Losi fan to this day. I’ll probably get the red for the shelf and the pro for fun!
Ordered 2! I've raced for decades and started with the XX series. We got a perfect scale backyard mini track due to covid and raced Mini 8ights and T 2.0s on it. The mini B and T... just don't drive right on true dirt that isn't blue grooved/constantly groomed. SO STOKED on this. Maybe they'll bring the XX series back too as a mini! (hopefully minus the top plate lol)
I used to race a jrxt truck. I won the north american coca cola challenge championship in the 2wd dirt open class in the early 90s with it. I still have it somewhere. There were a ton of pictures of it everywhere. People were pissed I walked all over them with the budget model lol.
OMG so excited!! My original has 4 holes though on the 5 link! Weird. I whish it didn't come RTR and I hope I can get a clear body and paint it like my original from '89. Would look nice sitting together ❤️
That’s a great looking buggy! I don’t usually go for the mini RCs but yeah this one has my attention. My first RC was a Losi Jr-T kit and soon after had a Losi truck with that same rear suspension JrXT??? Quality. Most of what we bashed back then were the race kits.
I remember the "battle" between Losi and TA, and electronic speed controllers were a rarity around my area. Lots of Magnum and Magnum Jr. remotes. Now no crystals, built in electronic ESC, and no giant 7.2 batteries lol

Absolutely love it! I’m going to talk to my local track to see if they may start a class for these. How would a transponder be hooked up? Anyone know? Thanks for the video Greg!
You just need to use a Y-Harness inline with the servo to power the transponder. Just like the Mini-B. Really wish they gave us a separate port on the ESC/ RX redesign though.
Not sure about that open diff in the gearbox - all the grease just leaves the diff itself openly into the gearbox itself. Hopefully 3rd parties make a closed gear diff or a ball diff
It’s just like the Mini-B. For stock racing I use the Tamiya anti-wear grease which is super sticky. It stays put for a while. Not sure if an MIP ball diff can be transferred over. Might require new driveshafts.
