I loved the way the Lasernut drove right off the bat. What struck me was how smooth and quiet it is. It has tons of control and drives like its on rails. I absolutely love mine.
Wheel nut comes off because center lock wheels should have opposite thread on the right side as real race cars. And it happens to the rear tire because it is the one where most of the torque is applied as the center of gravity moves back when a vehicle accelerates. Usually not a problem on most RC cars, but 4s on brushless with tires this grippy is just a recipe for failure for wheel nuts. Another solution would be using multiple nuts like most road cars 4 or 5 nuts per wheel would work.
Needs 17mm hexes. Those wheels are also super shallow at the hexes. Everything should be 1/8 scale on it. It shouldn't have rtr tenacity crap on it. It's a $500 shelf queen or a 1200 money pit. Horizon dropped the ball. Really sad

It rips! The advantage of buggy is there is no panel the tires rubs on. RC cars should've threads for the wheel nuts following the forward direction of the wheels just like bicycle crankarm/pedal setups.

I got so tired of spinning rims that I started using a little bit of the tire glue on the threads and I haven't had any problems with wheel nuts coming off anymore on any of my RC cars. And to get the wheel nut off if it's glued on too much I just use a little Heat from a soldering gun and it comes right off. I will not run any of my RC cars anymore without it
I was thinking about possibly getting one of these but for $479 the wheel shouldn’t be falling off. Basically one of your hubs was ruined and you possibly may have an axel issues. Thanks for this video!! Took you advice before my Lasernut even even arrived and ordered the losi nylock nuts. Put them on before I even drove it. I’ve now lost three of them, all from the right rear. No matter how tight I put them on they eventually spin off. One of the tires is ruined. Can’t figure it out. Major disappointment!! Love the car otherwise, but this situation is crazy. Tried locktite but it just heats the stuff up.
To follow up. The original back tire just got shredded by the hex when the nut came off, even though I took Greg's advice and used Losi's nylock nuts (I added the skid plates as well per his recommendation). The spare tire came off a few times as well, no matter how tight I made it, and after using threadlock. That tire is "warped" or something. It wobbles a lot almost like a bent BMX bike rim, but it gets me by. In about my 4th drive l completely lost power to the back end. Opened up the diff and found ground up and spun metal everywhere. The source was the rear bearing for the pinion gear which had come completely apart and then got shredded by the pinion and and ring gear. Luckily I had a spare. Put that in, ran one more pack through it and a CVD just snapped off at the head. I started looking at the others and noticed that another one is already warped. So now I'm waiting for parts. I have not been driving this car hard at all. It has yet to even see a jump, let alone any rough terrain. It has only been tooling around in my yard on low cut grass. When it runs its fun, although I'd like to get that turning radius down, but I can't believe the number of problems I've had after putting just 5 or so pack through it. I bought this car because I felt like it would be a blast right out of the box; no need to start down the upgrade path with it right away (I'm on that path with my Kraton). But I'm shredding bearings and busting driveshafts and destroying tires without even really putting it through its paces yet.

My wheel fell off on my Arrma Granite just the other day lol What needs to be done prior to taking any rig out really, is removal of wheels and loctiting each one really good and waiting 24hrs for it to set and then you should be good to go for hours and hours! Hopefully my Granites wheels hold up now that I did this :)

If you go with the Spektrum Smart batteries, you should go with the Spektrum charger too. No programming necessary unless you really want to change some of the parameters.
Such a nice RC! I also own the DB Pro and enjoy that, this is basically an XL chassis 4S powered 2.2 tire version of it! Sucks about the wheel nuts though. 7mm non nylock just doesn't cut it.
35 years ago I had a Tamiya Hornet. Back then we ran 7.2 or 8.4 volt battery packs and those batteries maybe lasted 10-15 minutes. Are these new battery packs substantially better for run time?
How are you getting on with this car? I’m considering buying one, but seeing / reading lots of stuff about failing parts. Have you had a different experience, given the recommendation? E.G. drive shafts breaking too easily, differential problems and missing shims, bearings exploding, under powered servo, nylon lock nuts needed for the wheels - I guess the list kind of goes on. I’m still considering this car, but seems like I would need to strip it down and replace a bunch of parts before using it. I’d like to know what you think?
I just got the db pro almost decided to preorder the lasernut but went with the pro had to watch your db pro video and I pulled the trigger waiting for it to be delivered I think the durability of the lasernut hasn't been proven yet. Awkward moving power sounds problematic.

Love that u4 rig. Losi did a great job on the look of the body. Have you done a review of the axial rr10 bomber? Love the new shop I can't wait to see more stuff done to it.👍
I have the original kit and RTR Bomber but have never driven them. Probably won’t review them since there is a newer version. I can’t wait to get more of the shop done. Running into the usual problem; time.
Depends how you run it. I go into the trails with it and can get an hour out of it going fast when I can. You can drain it in 15 to 20 minutes if you're on the throttle the whole pack. Careful doing that cause the motor will get pretty hot. I put on a cheap fan and that does the trick. Hope that helps!
Very nice...I was thinking of getting the Tenacity DB Pro before but ended up getting the Axial Bomber 2.0 instead. Do you have an Axial Bomber 2.0 and video review of it?
DB Pro is durable. Just drive it in the right conditions and what it was meant for. It’s NOT a basher. Size and scale is becoming a “BIG PROBLEM”. There are tracks that won’t allow a 1.10 Buggy that even looks remotely like a basher. This new LaserNut goes by 1.10 scale? I could tell my LHS track, that LOSI says it’s 1.10...BUT....they see it as 1.8 scale. The DB PRO fits just right as 1.10 until the rest of the world realizes that our more athletic RC cars for dirt off-road are becoming super popular. Dirt tracks will come back! WHY? Because it’s cheaper than carpet. Let the customer and his car get over the elements instead of track owners closing their venues because of operating costs.
Db pro is a tank , but i agree its not basher and bashing even granite is way more fun . That said db pro needs wants to jump and perform but its controlled well and stable. I finally get back into rc and no more dirt tracks all of newyork it sucks , ofcourse there is a carpet track , but really doesn't intrest me
I only drove a Bomber way back when it was first released. Unfortunately I don’t think I can give a fair comparison because of my limited use with the Bomber. Sorry.

That new granite in the background will be a good review to do next
All ready in the video editing phase.
So cool, how does this slower speed "crawl" on rocks?
It seems like Josh at Harley Design’s had the same problem with losing wheel nuts on his truck also.
Good to know. Didn’t get to watch his video yet.
Love it. Cool stuff 👍💯
Greg , I have outcast 8s , if I buy s smart batteries, do I have program and use smart charger ?
If you go with the Spektrum Smart batteries, you should go with the Spektrum charger too. No programming necessary unless you really want to change some of the parameters.
@@rcdriver thanks 😊
Great review and cool RC
Cool video ! I do not understand why Losi did not include a motor fan or real leds ???
Such a nice RC! I also own the DB Pro and enjoy that, this is basically an XL chassis 4S powered 2.2 tire version of it! Sucks about the wheel nuts though. 7mm non nylock just doesn't cut it.
Awesome keep up the great videos coming.
35 years ago I had a Tamiya Hornet. Back then we ran 7.2 or 8.4 volt battery packs and those batteries maybe lasted 10-15 minutes. Are these new battery packs substantially better for run time?
Excellent review buddy, another banger!!😁✌️
Nah I think be just as good but db pro is gr8 , you Lenny's kid 😆
I'm getting a pro this week too, couldn't wait more time and this one didn't surpassed my initial thoughts...
@@paulclancy2404 no I met him as a kid with my dad. He said he wished he had my dad's forearms though lol. Hope your right and it is tuff as "nails" the lasernut
@@garretdykstra9015 lol I see what you did , it is tough , you lucky he wasnt always nice to kids with there dads .
Only rc I haven't layed a tool on yet , i probably have about 15 20 packs through its due for maintenance
Awesome video SubD you up!! Look forward to the next one!!
Lost wheel nuts are like stray golf balls. They are inevitable, but always a good feeling when you find one.
Excellent video quality for the test runs. You are making a rock crawler want one! Thanks. And how is the new home?
Love the videos. Very informative! What's your favorite basher Currently? Not the best, just the one you reach for the most.
I don't think this is a u4 it doesn't have any straight axles.
This is gonna be my next ride !🤤😎👍🏼
Mine was missing the left rear wheel bearing straight out of the box . Other than that it's great, about an hour off a 4s smart battery.
Wow one hour run time, what battery are you using?
Can you crank the nut on? Will it keep coming off even if?? 😊
It needs locktite to help secure it. My model didn’t have it.
You need a laserNUT to hold that wheel on lol but it definitely looks fun!
Great Review, thanks man.
One question: how long ist the ride with the 4S Spektrum 5000mAh lipo?
Thanks
Depends how you run it. I go into the trails with it and can get an hour out of it going fast when I can. You can drain it in 15 to 20 minutes if you're on the throttle the whole pack. Careful doing that cause the motor will get pretty hot. I put on a cheap fan and that does the trick. Hope that helps!
Very nice...I was thinking of getting the Tenacity DB Pro before but ended up getting the Axial Bomber 2.0 instead.
Do you have an Axial Bomber 2.0 and video review of it?
Is it possible that you test the ZD Racing DBX10? It’s the 1/10 cheap version of the lasernut.
11:25 what is that song
Hi gregg hope we will see the traxxas hoss very soon on the chanel ... I'd realy love to have your thaughts on it !!!
What would you recommend. The losi Lazernut or the tenacity db pro
i had the same problem just use teflon tape on the threads, it works.
I've owned a lot of losi stuff, and it's a good driving experience, but who likes breaking parts every 2 or 3 batteries
Hope the db pro is durable just got one
I know this is new so people haven't driven it a lot, but so far it sounds durable, some videos ive seen they drove it roughly and it was fine.
I finally get back into rc and no more dirt tracks all of newyork it sucks , ofcourse there is a carpet track , but really doesn't intrest me
I gather if you threw a shortcource body on db pro it be hard to beat , i read that was the problrm tracks were saying no to losi being 10th scale
Does this truck, buggy break down alot ? Seen bad transmitters , easily broken drive axial and wheels popping off
so is the body shell Lexan or carbon fiber. Is the carbon faux
Any thoughts on how the Axial Bomber compares? Won’t be as fast, but how do they compare in more technical terrain?
I only drove a Bomber way back when it was first released. Unfortunately I don’t think I can give a fair comparison because of my limited use with the Bomber. Sorry.
Did you add threadlocker on the wheel nuts? This is something i always do on any of my RCs.
Hi RC Driver. Which one is more durable the Losi LaserJet or the Traxxas Hoss?
Typo Lasernut
I'm still going for the db pro, getting it finally this week...
DB Pro is still awesome. Enjoy!!
@@rcdriver You're the responsible for the choice :D
@@rcdriver planing to upgrade the servo for the spektrum s6240 wich I think maybe its a bit expensive, do you recommend this one or can I get a cheaper equally capable one?
Would you recommend this as my first rc car and how much does the battery last
About to buy one, what was the fix for the wheels and would you still recommend this?
Do you need "smart batteries" for this rig?
Is there a diffrnence in using the 50c vs the 100c battery?
