How to INCREASE YOUR DAMAGE for as CHEAP as POSSIBLE!

- After seeing how well one of my most recent Chaos Profile videos did, I realised that a damage optimising video is one that a lot of people will likely want to see. Optimising your damage is one of the most important stats you can work on in Hypixel Skyblock and being able to work on your damage depending on what stage of the game you're at is extremely valuable. It doesn't help that the damage system also happens to be extremely complicated, which is why I've decided to make this video. Hopefully the points I cover help clear up some of the confusion around dealing damage in this game to assist with your Skyblock gameplay overall.

you can describe the logic for the 1:1 strength to crit damage ratio like this:
lets say you have a choice to choose 10 points to turn into crit damage and strength, you chose 4 and 6
4x6=24
but instead if you choose 5 and 5
5x5=25
?

the formula for damage is (5+BaseDamage)*(1+(strength/100))*(1+(CritDamage/100))*(1+(BaseMultiplier/100))*(1+(PostMultiplier/100)) has (1+strength/100)*(1+CritaDamage/100), simplifying to (strength*CritDamage+100strength+100CritDamage+10,000)/10,000 as the multiplier for this part. Increasing either strength or crit damage has the same from the 100*(the thing youre using), so the CritDamage*strength is what we care about for which one we do. And for two numbers a and b that when added together must always equal the same value c, represented by a+b=c, the greatest value a*b can ever be is a^2 or b^2, when a and b are the same number. This is because you set s as (a+b) and d as (a-b) and rewrite the equation as (s/(2)-d/(2))*(s/(2)+d/(2)), simplifying (s^2-d^2)/4, which only gets smaller as d gets bigger, but if a+b aren't changing then the s term won't be changing. A similar argument applies to the strength and crit damage multiplication, which is why you want strength and crit damage to be as close together as possible.

Edit: another way to approach this is to look at it like this, if you add 1 to 100 that's a 1% increase, but if you add 1 to 50 that's a 2% increase, and since multiplication is used in the damage formula what we care about is maxing percent increase
(more mathematically, 1/x is a decreasing function, having a negative first derivative (-1/x^2), so having a larger denominator will always decrease how much adding 1 (or any number) will do, so you want to get the lowest denominator, or whichever of your strength and crit damage stats are lower. I could expand this out to be more exact but I don't wanna)

Tl;dr the formula for damage includes (with some other stuff, but it isn't important for this)
-((strength - crit damage)^2) so you want (strength-crit damage)^2 to be as small as possible
Super helpful video finally understand combat much more than before the video... Honestly most people find combat a bit confusing because it's so many numbers that are involved and sometimes can increase your damage by a couple of thousands for simple tasks

Woah!! as an og player coming back I had no idea that the thing at 10:44 existed! I was sad to see that they removed reforging of talisman but that makes up for it tenfold. I can finally kill zelots again, cheers!

Hate to burst your bubble, but I'm neither new or coming back. Superior just holds its own extremely well even in current Skyblock, people just don't like to acknowledge it.
If you don't believe me, I've made 2 long ass videos on the topic with resounding evidence to support this. Though honestly I feel like I might end up re-visiting it again because I wanna update the videos to my current editing style & compare them with slightly better testing. The numbers still hold true regardless though.
Oh yeah, and because it's clear that you've not seen my stuff before, this isn't my main profile but a secondary one I use specifically for "midgame testing". I've got much better gear on my main profile that isn't full superior

@@sameritani Superior pieces on their own aren't gonna do you much. I would sell whatever mixed set you have and jump straight to full superior, but that's because I prefer the EHP + out of dungeons stats more. Otherwise just keep collecting SA pieces until you have that full set

Upgrading foraging gives you strength. If you aren’t getting the damage you want chop some trees.

Idk what you mean by superpairs, but he is using the mod neu (not enough updates) and is probably using the furfsky texture pack.

Monster Raider set is also really good for early-game and if you get someone to craft it for you its only like 1.5-2m.

I would adivese getting red of superior since its not very good for in and out of dungeons and painfully expensive go for sa/crimson/necron (depending on budget and level) for outside dungeons and for in sa/necron@@franklinklinton7160

I've seen dragon armor and was able to get full set of old dragon armor with encouragement and reforged legendarys with 1 superior in the set but they some was 1 or two star at end of it
just simple armor : meanwhile wearing renowed recombed superior dragon armor with max enchants and book modifiers

Im not really one to ask for guides or anything but could you make one on dungeons? I search everywhere and theres alot of things ive missed that've messed me up like how upgrading swords and armor and stuff increases the req catacomb lvl to use it so that set that mightve been useful before is now worth nothing at that time. Also stuff like good armor and reforges for that and armor sets for each cata lvl. Even if this doesn't get seen its all good but ya, just a request

I do 60 k with my livid dagger with shadow assassin armour with the zombie knight chest plate, I have a lion pet, I have like 15 talismans and itchy reforge, combat 25 and that pretty much it
