Remote Just Stopped Working!!! EASE v3.0 Adjustable Base ( Sit & Sleep )

- Just got this TEMPUR Pedic LUXE Breeze about a month ago. Along with it I got the EASE version 3.0 which is the 2021 model. I lost a good nights sleep due to the EASE v3.0 bed base remote just stopped working out of no where! It was stuck in the upright position and there was no way to get it to go down!
I checked to see if there was a manual override on the motors themselves because the assembly came with some allen wrenches. No screws to turn on the motor units.
Power to the adjustable bed base was fine. Control module had power. I thought the remote batteries died and changed those as well. Remote was lighting up.
I no longer have my manual and I looked online to see if there was a trouble shooting pdf available and hit another dead end. The only option I had left was to call the tech support on the 800 number listed inside the remote control.
The problem was this happen on the weekend and tech support was already closed by the time I changed out the batteries. I had no options left! It was midnight and I had to wait it out!
Anyways, I thought I would teach you guys what I learned on "How to pair EASE 3.0 adjustable bed base" and "How to Unlock Child Safety Mode" lastly a Life Hack just in case your Remote OR Control Module is actually broken. A simple bypass using a 9 Volt battery and some pin connectors.
What I did leave out in the video is that you can simply connect two 9 volt batteries to the factory battery connector and use 2 paper clips to go directly to the motor pins to get the unit to go up or down, which might be a lot easier to plug into the motor terminal.

We got it up and unplugged it from the charger (where the green light is) rather than from the wall as they told me. Then the blue light came on underneath and we were good to go...Your video is a blessing. I hope you receive a Blessing in return...

I'm jumping on the top comment just to share one more thing that this video didn't have, but solved my problem after none of these tips worked. You can "reconnect" (not pair) the remote by holding leg up and down simultaneously for 3-5 seconds.

I contracted a terrible cold and slept in the upright position so I could breathe and wanted the remote close by so I kept in the bed with me. Something must have happened during the night because it stopped working. Your directions were so easy to follow. Thanks again.

Oh my gooooodnesssssss I woke up in the middle of the night because I rolled onto the remote and accidentally put the head up too high. Then the remote stopped working!!!! Your video helped me solve it. It was ultimately a child lock issue. All the manuals I found online said that child lock was unlocked by holding the foot up and down buttons at the same time until it blinks twice - which did nothing. Your video told me to press the head and foot down at the same time until it flashed once and then head and foot up at the same time until it flashed once. That solved it. I’m so mad that the official manuals had the wrong instructions.
I tried looking online for a manual, and they were all for the Ease 2.0. Apparently releasing the child lock changed between 2.0 and 3.0. For 2.0, you press and hold the foot up and foot down buttons. For 3.0 you press and hold the head down and foot down buttons until it blinks, then press and hold the head up and foot up buttons until it blinks.

Yes, when I had the issue originally, I found the info for the 2.0 as well.... nothing for the 3.0 hence, why i threw this vid together. ;)

You sir have saved me! Remote stopped working last night with the back of bed raised. Woke up with a horrible back ache. Called Sealy, was on hold for 17 minutes, then they sent me to voicemail. What a crock. Shows what they think of their customers. During the 17 minutes on hold they offered a call back option of one business day. I opted to stay on hold and the reward after that was to be redirected to voicemail with a two business day call back. Not sure I will ever buy a Sealy product again. You are brilliant, solving a difficult issue. Thanks again.
Dude! You have no idea how you saved me. My adj base hadn't worked in 3 years and I've only had it 4 years. I am going to have esophageal surgery soon and need to be able to sleep at a 30 degree angle for the rest of my life and thought I was going to have to invest in a new base, but following your video fixed my bed in 20 seconds. OMG Thank you so much! My Mom just had knee surgery and got the bed stuck in the upright position. It was killing her back and I've been tasked with finding a solution. Afraid I was gonna have to call customer support and you all know how that goes, lol. Plus it's the weekend so I was worried it would have to wait till Monday. This was a lifesaver! :D

Thank you for this tutorial! I don't even have this manufacturer's frame. I have a completely different brand, and I couldn't remember how to pair my remote. As soon as you said to push the head up, leg up buttons, the light bulb in my head went on, and I remembered that's what I needed to press to pair my remote. THANK YOU!!

Yes, the tech line told me that having the remote fall off the bed can also, cause the remote to go into child proof mode.
Holding the two down buttons and then the two up buttons worked for us!!!

Yes, I had that same issue lol. Except I misplaced my manual and found it shortly afterwards. I was able to find the version 2.0 but, not the 3.0

It was with great relief that I watched this video. I asked for a replacement controller for Christmas since "the boy side" controller got lost somehow. The wife did not provide tech support. Clue: neither does dialing the 1 800 customer service number - terminal hold. Older videos talked of pressing the reset button on the power unit. This finally gave the correct answer. Thank you.

Dude! My hero! I had some kind of short so I had to use your battery solution. I didn’t have the techie tool you had so I got a 9 volt and used electrical tape to secure paper clips to the nodes! I felt like MacGyver! Also might warn peeps that the battery got pretty warm! But my daughter can stop sleeping in her own bed again! You are awesome!

Bless you...I didn't know what happened. The remote was on the bed when I fell asleep. Lol...you were spot on with your instructions even to the 9 volt battery thing. Saw that but didn't have a clue. Thank you so much.
One of the things the technician told me when I went through the call was..... IF you sleep on the remote aka push all the buttons down with your body. It can be the cause for it to go into "child proof mode".

Thank you! This saved me. We sleep with the remote in bed and must have inadvertently put the remote in "child mode." I went nuts for about 30 minutes with new batteries and cycling power to the power supply. Found this video and quickly realized what was wrong. Thanks again!

OMG!!! I can't thank you enough for your easy to follow instructions on resetting the EASE adjustable bed remote. My mother has this exact bed and for the past week, she's been frustrated trying to get the head and legs to raise. The damn remote locked. She said she looked online at a video to learn how to unlock/ reset the remote but to no avail. Tonight I was determined to see if I could get this damn remote going. Thank you. I have a Stearns & Foster mattress that includes the EASE adjustable frame. Unlocking the child-proof lock did the trick for me. Recognizing the EASE remote was helpful, because I knew the instructions would be specific for me.

Although my model was not exactly the same, I was able to reset my module so that the remote worked again. Happened after a power outage at our house. Thanks for the great info.

OMG!!! I fell asleep on it and must have put it in the child lock mode....and of course you guessed it! It was locked in the upright position and killing my neck and back!!! I called customer service but because of hurricane Ian......they are closed!! So I decided to come to the University of GOOGLE and your video popped up!! Thank you. My power unit didn't have the pairing button but I pushed the button on the remote anyway & then also did the unlock procedure. It worked!!
