How to lock and unlock the Tempur Ergo , Ergo Extend or EASE adjustable bases (2021 version)
To unlock (2 steps):
Push and hold down the 2 DOWN buttons (Head Down & Foot Down) for 6 seconds, the remote light blinks once, AND THEN push and hold the 2 UP buttons (Head Up & Foot Up) for 6 seconds, wait for it to blink twice. The remote should now unlock and your base should work!
New child lock feature - these instructions are for Tempur-Pedic adjustable bases purchased after Oct/Nov 2020. The remote may accidentally lock if you sit or sleep on the remote.
These instructions also work for the Sealy Ease base (although its a different remote). Same process
If your remote isn't working, it is probably on Child Lock
1) Check to make sure the base is still plugged in.
2) Check to make sure you aren't on "child lock". If its locked, go straight to the "UNLOCK" instructions before you try re-pairing or reprogramming a remote control. This is an EASY FIX to try to unlock. You will not be able to reprogram your remote if the base is on child lock (you won't get the flashing blue light).
To reprogram the Ergo or Extend remote:
1) Remove the cover from the remote control (you need access to it)
2) Under the bed, locate the battery backup box (for 9 volt batteries). You will push the "learn" button TWICE (small black button), and the little light bulb will light up.
3) Push the white button on the back of the remote, it will start flashing blue. Keep holding it down until it stops flashing.
To reprogram the Ease 3.0 remote:
1) Remove the cover from the remote control (you need access to it)
2) Unplug the Base from power and wait 5-6 seconds
3) Plug the base back into a working outlet (this starts sending a new signal out for pairing)
4) Push the white button on the back of the remote, it will start flashing blue. Keep holding it down until it stops flashing.

This didn’t work for me
If the remote blinks when you push any button, then the remote is locked. There are different instructions (depending on the remote control version). If it has a white sticker with orange trim, the instructions are printed on that sticker. You can also call (800) 821-6621 for help
If you have the remote with a black sticker on the back, you will follow different instructions. Push and hold “Foot Up” and “Foot down” for 6-10 seconds until the remote blinks twice. Same instructions as this video at this link ua-cam.com/video/UtRJtdQklrg/v-deo.html

On older bases you would hit head and feet on the same side. I like this newer version because its a lot harder to accidentally lock the base. Thanks for this. I was going crazy pressing foot up and down to unlock the base.

@@BlueLADodger I have a different remote. Got my Ergo in 2018. Have split king, both remotes weren’t working. Did a reset & got one working, but can’t get the other one going. Have tried all the tricks recommended for the other remotes but it won’t work! Any suggestions?

Thank you! Do you know how to favorite a position on this remote? The best I can guess is to hold brown the star button, but I’m not sure. 🤷♀️
On the Ergo and Extend remote, you can record your “favorite” position by pushing and holding down the “star” button for about 10 seconds. It needs to blink twice to record. You will see it blinks once after 6
Seconds. Keep holding it down until you see the backlight “Blink” a second time. Once it blinks twice, your favorite position is now stored in the “Star” button.
To move the base to your favorite position, you just need to push the star button for 1-2 seconds, release, the base will “play” back your favorite.
If you want to modify the other
Buttons (TV, Zero G and zzz Anti Snore) can also be re-recorded over by using the same process (push and hold for 10 seconds, wait for it to blink twice).
You can also restore the original “preset” positions by pushing and holding these 2 buttons for 10 seconds - push “flat” and “zero G” and wait for the backlight to blink twice.

If you push any button on the remote, and the remote blinks twice, then that tells you that the remote is locked.
You should double check that you have a green light on you power supply, and the cords are plugged in tight. I suggest that you try to LOCK your remote, and then unlock.
To LOCK: push head UP + foot UP together for 5-10 seconds (wait for it to blink twice). The remote should now be locked.
To UNLOCK (2 steps: First push head DOWN + foot DOWN together until the backlight flashes once; then push head UP + foot UP together until the backlight flashes twice).
If that doesn’t work, you may need to reprogram the remote. Or double check that the white sticker on the back has the instructions. There is one other remote that had you push ZERO G instead of the FOOT button in the sequence.
To reprogram the remote, take the cover off the back of the remote. Unplug the base from the power outlet and wait 1 minute. Plug the base back into power. You’ll have about 20 seconds to push and hold the white jelly button (pair button) above the battery compartment to send a new signal. The button turns blue and then stops. Once it stops, the remote should be paired. You can also call (800) 821-6621 for help. Good luck.
