Aspiring hair dressers are so lucky to have UA-cam videos to watch over and over again to learn your craft. I wish I had this pre you tube days as it took a long time to master the art of hair and yes, I still struggle from time to time. Matt, you are amazing. You were born to do hair 😇

This is exactly the type of video I have been looking for to help me understand how to take out the weight of a graduated bob to further my understanding of dry hair-cutting techniques and how it effects the hair in any style - Thank you so much!!

I love that you are using a mannequin to do your cuts.. I have watched a lot of videos on cutting and your are definitely some of the best out there... you go section by section and your explanations are detailed.. some of the top stylists either have no explanations of the cut section, just music, or it lacks reasoning and details about the cut.. definitely love your work.. thank you..

I really appreciate your technique. I have been trying to request a long version of this but hairdressers don't seem to know how to do it. If wavy hair is cut in graduated layers, it will curl, but as you say, if the cut is not finished properly, there is only one way you can style the hair.

Made it to the end. 😊 I spent most of today watching your videos, including this one. Had a client contact me just now asking for a haircut inspired by "Queenie" from the movie "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them". I instantly thought of the techniques from this video and will be diagramming the cut tomorrow to prepare for her Tuesday appointment. If you have any advice to that end, I would really appreciate it. Thanks for all of the information that you share. It is so invaluable.

Do you recommend this sort of cut for someone who has fine, thin hair? It seems like it should only be on women with thicker hair.

I've been enjoying your videos for a while now. I really like how consistent you are with your haircuts! I think thats the biggest challenge as a hairstylist is being comfortable and consistent with your combing. I work in a corporate type salon that values quantity over quality and it can be quite monotonous. Watching your videos gives that inspiration and artistry that I do crave. :) Also I like that version of The Knife's Heartbeats lol :)

HI Matt, loving your videos they are really helping me with my training :). I am going to be doing this cut on a friend of mine this week (perfect timing for video) I would just like to ask... she has really thin hair so would I be better leaving the bulk to make it look thicker or still dry cut/texture to make it have more volume? Thanks Jo xx

haaha made it :) got to laugh at your heavy bob cut before texturising, i think the texturising is the main part of the haircut, i see that alot here, gotta get myself some of those dry cutting scissors, i use my japanese cobalt 7" scissors but like you said, they get blunt quickly when doing alot of dry cuts
