Love your cutting tutorials. You don't drag them out and make them boring. You are my favorite educator for cutting and I have been doing hair for 30 years. Thanks!
This is exactly what I needed! I struggle with deciding what elevation to use and what guide would work best for certain types of cuts. I have been doing hair for 16 years now and its just like second nature to me to flow thru a haircut/color. I know what to do to get the end result but I didn't really focus on why. This industry is always changing and as a stylist its so easy to feel insecure in our work if a certain cut/color doesn't turn out how you wanted it to. I love these Back to Basics videos! Thank you for explaining the "why" and breaking down the haircuts/colors with your diagrams and explanations. Your videos have helped me to be able to take a step back and get a better understanding of each method and be confident that I will use the best one to get the desired outcome.
I absolutely love your channel. I've always wanted to go to school for hair, but allowed myself to be talked out of it after I came out of highschool... over 10 years later, I finally made room in my life for a return to school. I don't start until the end of June, and your channel has helped me live through the impatience and excitement til I start school. Not only have you guys given me a ton of material to keep me inspired and motivated in the mean time, but I feel that you've given me a lot of ideas and career goals for life after school. Awesome to see a fellow midwestie take the same education that I will be receiving taking it so far with such success really inspires me to think big and work hard to get what I want out of my career. Love from Iowa, Kambrie
You sound exactly like me! I and my family had talked myself out of cosmo school right out of high school and I went on to fail at other things because I was really disinterested and now after 10 years I just finished my first week of cosmo school. It was a shock for sure being thrown into it but I am adjusting! No regrets! Good luck to you! Hope you have a fun time in school!
Matt as italian hairdresser I really thank you for having the time to share with us all your knowledge and ideas! It's not easy here to get free access to GOOD educational videos...So, thank you from the heart! I bring some Matt Beck style to Italy everyday!
Love how quick and efficient these videos are it's awesome having new cutting guidelines in my mind from watching a short 10 min video. The refining at the end really polished things off too, nice job!
I love your channel. I shows the foundation of cutting in a modern way. I know I needed to go back to the basics to refine my skills, and your channel allows me to do that. keep the videos coming. I don't just enjoy them, I need them!!! 🖒👏 your awsome
I love the hair styles that you do. I have a square face and I wanted a shorter hair cut similar to this one in the video. I am just nervous that it will define my square face and not look good on me. The reason I want a shorter hair cut, is that it is easier to maintain and take care of. Right now I am just trying to find a look that suits me.
You're awesome, thank you:) I'm sure you've done a bunch already, but I'm always looking for fun new ways to layer classic bobs...what's a fun one for wavy hair that will look great air dried? Thanks again!
just cut one of my best layered bobs yet...thanks for ALL the videos...they're really helping me grow! Would love to see you do a graduated bob with an undercut :)
In beauty school were told its unprofessional to section away hair for hair cuts , and I've always hated it. I always loose mind and my guide. Than I get gaps. I love your sectioning , you can see everything so neat and easy to go back. Thanks Beginner Stylist
Jose Rivera the more I understand hair , I understand why they don't pick the hair up . The demographic of the school salon was extremely fine hair. You can section fine hair if you want but when its wet its pretty easy to section away the hair with part. They say the client wants to look beautiful at all all times she doesn't want to see a bunch clips in hair. Than I thought about it what type of client would feel that way the ones with that 💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰 lol
Mat I need a video or some explanation on how close to come to my fingers when cutting. I am a new cosmetologist and I cut myself a lot.I did watch your series on becoming a better hair cutter and that really helped me so thank you for all of the help. I think it's just getting that muscle memory to know where I am placing my moving blade and my still blade when cutting.
Hi Matt, Love the basic bob cut it's a great classic. Is there much difference between the graduated bob and the concave bob, it would be good if you could do a video on that. As alway luv your work and alway watch until the end, I quite often re-watch your tutorials as well.😘
Why do some cuts start out with a u shaped or v shaped around the parietal ridge? What's the difference in beginning with the two? I am not In the biz but have been teaching myself to cut my own hair. After watching your vids for about 2 weeks, I did the 3 layer cut on myself and love it. Keep doing what your doing. I love your work, and you are a great teacher. Thanks a million for the tutorials.
+Free Salon Education if they want a very low stack in the back, would you do the same thing but at a very low angle? you know what I mean? some times when they have very fine hair I think it looks better when it's not high stack. great video thanks! !
Thank you so much it was awesome job 👏👏👏👏 I really loved it and I have a question if you can answer me please ! You mentioned the name of the Cesar you’re using but I couldn’t understand on the video because You were talking too fast for me 😊 can you please help me to find that Cesar ? Thanks so much
As a seasoned stylist I absolutely love these videos. They keep me from getting sloppy and remind me how important structure is! Keep'em coming!
Love your cutting tutorials. You don't drag them out and make them boring. You are my favorite educator for cutting and I have been doing hair for 30 years. Thanks!
30+ years and you still are teaching me newer and better techniques. Wish I could give you a 15+ stars. Blessings
