Hey mell, can you make a video about hair growth products like droppers, shampoos, treatments etc. ?If they really make our hair growth more than natural.
Hey Mell! your videos have taught me so much about how to manage my hair, thank you so much! How do you know if you've rinsed your conditioner out of your hair well enough? Should there still be some slip left or should it feel like 'naked hair'?
I been wringing out my hair for many many years before applying the rinse out conditioner but ever since this CGM started booming for Curlies I’ve now heard to stop removing the water from hair because the conditioners need the extra water to evenly distribute,to make detangling easier on the strands. Now I’m hearing I should go back to removing the excess drippy water again. Ugh so confusing.
Also, it’s about what kind of curls you have. Nell need a lot of moisture. I as a wavy don’t need that much! So I leave a little extra water in to help with heaviness
I was excited to watch this video, hoping it would answer a question my stylist can’t, but recognizes that it happens. My hair hates conditioner. When I condition after shampooing or deep condition, my hair literally falls out of my head in long strands and also breaks off little pieces. My hair is very fine. I have tried dry detangling before washing and conditioning, but it still does the same thing as soon as the conditioner sits in my hair for a minute or two. I’ve used thin, watery conditioners and thick conditioners, ones with protein and moisturizing ones. It always happens. My hair is not very tangled, so it’s not being pulled out in the process. Hope you can help before I have no hair left.
Right now my goto is Ecoslay Banana Cream. I use it as my deep conditioner and leave in. I am about halfway through the process of growing out bleach/color/heat damage so the bottom of my hair is highly porous. I have several stylers that I use after my leave in to seal - Olaplex 6 Bond Smoother, AG Recoil, Ecoslay orange marmalade. Right now to avoid having to redo (wet) my hair more than once a week, I am using flexirods because they mimic my curl pattern and some of my hair that is most heat damage ( flat ironed the hair around my face to death!) just does not curl. Ecoslay is the only deep conditioner I have found that keeps my hair moisturized all week. I also use their oil Moonshine nearer to my wash day to help with frizz.
I’ve always been a leave in girl, I like alikay, Eva nyc spray and AG fast food. Plus, since getting highlights that multitasking conditioner is very appealing.
I have been wondering what my conditioner was conditioning my hair to do! Lol! I also just came home with this product, so you have ALLLLLLLLL the info I was needing! ❤️
I stopped using rinse out conditioner about 8 months ago, on the advice of my old stylist, and I was stunned at how easy it was to detangle my hair in the shower. I have 3a, fine, curly, high density, low porosity hair that is more on the dry side. No more snares and tiny knots at the base of my neck. My new stylist recommended I stop using leave-in because it weight down my hair. He said all I needed was a rinse out. So now I’m wondering if I need conditioner at all. Gonna give it a try the next few weeks and see how it goes.
Helpful tips, Mell. I love watching your videos and learning from you. Thank you. Unfortunately I couldn't use Curlsmith products. Though I loved the smell of the products, I ended up with hives on my face, neck and eyelids where my hair touched it. Bummed but ever onward. Moving onto Oribe which I know has worked in the past.
In terms of conditioner routine, I usually comb it through my hair and clip it up to "bathe" in the conditioner. I get done washing my face and body, then rinse it out. Afterwards, I apply a leave in conditioner. My hair can go "poof" from dryness easily. I do commit the sacrilege of using silicones in my leave-in to help combat dryness and frizz.
Great video❤️❤️ Definitely guilty of using regular conditioner as leave in conditioner 🤭 tho once again asking for the pop up info placements to be somewhere not covered by the subtitles 😁🙏
I would love to watch a clarifying themed version of this! ❤️ Your videos helped me a lot throughout my curly journey, but I often encounter the problem of not finding suitable products in my country when you try to go about this microplastic free and not overly expensive. Questions I have would be like what makes a clarifying product clarifying (same for chelating) and can I use products that are not labeled as "clarifying" because of certain ingredients? I started using a shampoo with a strong sulfate paired with an ACV rinse every few weeks some time ago because of some recommendations but, a week ago, I have read that it apparently is not clarifying enough? Since I struggle with my curls from the root to mid length and changing all my products didn't work, I am highly interested in wether me not clarifying properly is the problem or not 🤔
I have super duper fine, super duper low density hair, and a scalp that tends slightly toward oiliness. Would i benefit from shampooing my roots AFTER conditioning and detangling to try and get some volume? Everything has a tendency to go flat just from regular conditioning without any deep or leave in conditioning because my hair is SO fine, thin, and sensitive to anything even remotely heavy. Even the lightest conditioners, fully rinsed still give me flat hair from day 1 wash day that only gets worse as the days tick by.
Some people say that after a masque I must use a rinse out conditioner in order to close the cuticles. Is it true? Do I need a conditioner after deep conditioning??? Thank you so much you are fabulous!
Yesss Curlsmith! I love their products. Also, Mel, I'd like to hear your opinion on LUSH Cosmetics' new curly hair products! I've been using some of them and getting great results.

I always learn so much, but more importantly I always get a good laugh!! Thanks Mel😄
Had a busy Friday. But who said you can't watch Mane girl Mel on a Sunday catch up!!! Thanks for your awesome content Mel
This video answered so many questions I didn’t even know I had 🙌🏻 Loved it!
Wow your hair looks voluminous. I love it! It’s really growing too since you got it cut. Can’t wait to try these products sometime soon :)
I ordered this along with the gel a few days ago. Can’t wait to try it. Thanks for all the info. It’s so helpful! I always enjoy your videos! 💗
Hi. did you try it? do you think the multitasking conditioner would be enough for defining fine hair?
Helpful tips, Mell. I love watching your videos and learning from you. Thank you. Unfortunately I couldn't use Curlsmith products. Though I loved the smell of the products, I ended up with hives on my face, neck and eyelids where my hair touched it. Bummed but ever onward. Moving onto Oribe which I know has worked in the past.
I'm living for those Friday videos🙌🏼
In terms of conditioner routine, I usually comb it through my hair and clip it up to "bathe" in the conditioner. I get done washing my face and body, then rinse it out. Afterwards, I apply a leave in conditioner. My hair can go "poof" from dryness easily. I do commit the sacrilege of using silicones in my leave-in to help combat dryness and frizz.
Great video❤️❤️ Definitely guilty of using regular conditioner as leave in conditioner 🤭 tho once again asking for the pop up info placements to be somewhere not covered by the subtitles 😁🙏
Thank you!! And oh no! Great point we'll look into that thank you for mentioning!!
Yes, I can never see them because I need the Closed Captioning
I feel like this would work great on a trip where I don't want to spend a lot of time on my hair! Will give it a shot!
Great review, Mell! I might have to try Curlsmith Multitasking Conditioner. I like to use my conditioner as a deep conditioner.
I love Curl Smith! I have tried both but I love deep conditioning.
Whoa, I thought conditioner was supposed to go on sopping wet hair! Thank you for educating this ol lady!
I love surprise vids!!! Great topic to cover
Since I struggle with my curls from the root to mid length and changing all my products didn't work, I am highly interested in wether me not clarifying properly is the problem or not 🤔
I’m a new subbie and every video I crack up cause I constantly see a new funny looking hair tool 😂
She is coming in CLUTCH with this video.

Hey Mel, do you think you could maybe do a vid of your favourite cruelty free hair products or a cruelty free product battle

Our beautiful Mell and Amanda....another BONUS video this week....It's like my birthday.
😉😉😉 OUR birthday!! Thanks for watching Lisa I hope you enjoyed!!❤️❤️
Thanks again, Mel! I always appreciate the science & the humor. 💖🤓😁
scientify mell's freckles suit her so well

YAY!! Thanks for watching
This video was so necessary and needed 😭 thank you!!!
Smells ah-mazingggg... Like dewberry or sparkling blackberry. Looove it! Love your content and expertise.
Fabulous... I have been pondering this for a while.. thank you so much.
Yay I'm glad i could answer your question!!
What would you recommend for mousse or gel to give a strong cast?
I want to hear that answer too
Yesss Curlsmith! I love their products. Also, Mel, I'd like to hear your opinion on LUSH Cosmetics' new curly hair products! I've been using some of them and getting great results.
That was very helpful.
I never understood why my hair doesn't tend to curl when I use the styling cream. I always thought it was weird that the leave-in worked better by itself 😅
I never knew how much i needed this video
Thanks for another great video girlie ❤️ Btw do you recommend curlsmith products for wavy 2B/2C hair? 🤔
Another bang on video as always ❤️
