    Frizz doesn't look that bad on type 3 or type 4 curls. It looks the worst when you have wavy or a mix of wavy and curly.

      Yes! Mine is more like Roseanne Rosanna Danna's.
      When I saw Mel's, my first thought if only my hair looked that 'bad' on a bad day.

      I feel it doesn't look "bad" to us is because most of us have lived with frizzy hair and didn't know it. At least for me, I thought type 4 hair simply grew that way until I learned about hair types, proper hair care and everything in between (I'm Type 4 btw).

    I’ve always struggled and had insecurities with my hair since I was a little kid. I was so amazed and envious by how beautiful everyone’s hair look like as well as how healthy they looked. I’ve wanted to become a hair stylist for years but I always felt so insecure and discouraged by how my hair isn’t healthy nor I did not even know where or how to start. Ever since I found your UA-cam channel I became obsessed and changed my hair 180° by watching almost every video you posted! I have improved my hair so much and thanks to you and your seester Amanda you guys gave me the confidence and the courage to decide on going to a hair school next year. This may not be a big deal but honestly I wouldn’t have been so confident and feel so amazing if it weren’t for you two. I learned so much about my hair and learning more day by day makes me just fall in love with hair even more knowing that my curls can turn out to be healthy like yours and I truly appreciate it for all the videos and the effort you put in these videos! You’re my hero and forever will love your videos❤️ I hope that soon one day when I do peoples hairs and give them tips on how to help out their hair that they see results and learn more about their own individual hair just like the amazing Mel!!! Thanks again and I wish you and your sister gains more subscribers because you are honestly so underrated you deserve the best and more ❤️🥺

    I had straight hair as a kid until 5th grade. Got it cut to my shoulders in layers and it curled right up. I cried and cried. I have always hated my hair! I used a straightener on it all through school. For years I have washed everyday, every other day. I would go to bed with my hair wet wake up looking so crazy. Frizz not really any curls just a hot mess. I use to always wet my hair in morning to style. I was never taught a good way to take care of or style curly hair because no one in my family had crazy curly hair like mine. Since I found your UA-cam channel I have learned so much about my hair and it's helped ALOT. My hair looks and feels so much better!! Thank you!!

    Adding Olaplex to my next sephora order! Thank you for all of your time and effort you put into teaching us how to care for our curls. Since I've adapted my haircare routine to specifically high porosity needs, it has really taken on such a life of it's own and I absolutely LOVE it now. I spent decades not knowing why things I was trying weren't working for me like they were for other people. Turns out, I was mostly using products best suited for low porosity instead and every thing I gained from one would basically just cancel out another. Now that you've educated "why" to use "what" and "when", it's been a total game changer!

    I'm 15 and since my 7 years old I straight my hair so now I decided to stop and take care of my natural curls. But now my hair is so frizzy and I lost a big part of my curls, my hair is a complete mess, curly, wavy, straight... crazy! And when it dries it gains so much volume, and its puffy and I really don't like, so I just grab an elastic and tie up my hair in a bun... and when I release it... total disaster!!! I've been looking for videos to help me but I never found it until now! I think this video and your channel in particular can help me and my baby curly hair come back again! So I thank you soooo much! I'm gonna grab my computer now and do the quiz! I'm excited ❤️❤️ lots of Love
    Ps: love your curls such a perfection 😍😍😍

      That was the clue that led to me admitting I had wavy hair. Many of my hair's are my mostly straight. Some are actual curls that, well, curl and are springy and everything. So if I just air dry, brush, and attempt to wear my heart "straight" in the PNW I just get weird springy bits all over and frizz galore. The routine I just mentioned worked just fine when I lived in a desert though.

    I love the Kerastase elixir! It smells so great. I've always struggled with leave-in conditioners because they always felt too heavy for my waves. I've tried reducing the quantity, but it's as if it overloads my hair (especially if I apply curl cream and gel) Any tips? Or any brand that is light?

    Mel you make finger coiling look so easy!! I’ve followed your tips and tricks from videos, and my hair just doesn’t respond like that. It doesn’t bounce or spring back up when I’ve finger coiled it, it stays long, drawn out and twisted. Help please. 😭🤞🏻

    • @carinagonzalez7421
      @carinagonzalez7421 4 роки тому +4

      That happens to me too!!! I find if I twist too much it will just be a random twist lol. The way mine works best is if it’s wet when I finger coil and then still scrunch scrunch scrunch until it coils! If the scrunch doesn’t work I will literally wrap it around my finger like you would a wand and hold until it stays then release and not touch until it dries. I mainly only take the time do that on my front pieces though lol

    My hair is totally a different texture than yours, but your videos are so thorough that it feels like your tips will help me too. I recently big chopped and some of my curls are clumped together and defined, but most of my hair is super frizzy. I wasn't sure if I needed a protein treatment or my hair is just dehydrated. I'm going to try these tips and hopefully I can figure out my hair better lol. Thank you Mel!

    i've been trying to figure this stuff out ever since i started the curly girl method and i still can't seem to find out whether my hair is ACTUALLY damaged or not. I have never dyed it or bleached, i have used excessive heat on my hair maybe 6 times tops in my entire life, but it still kinda seems damaged somehow and therefore almost always frizzy. This also makes it harder to determine what porosity my hair is... do you have any sort of advice or tipes :)

    Mel I have a question..
    when I put product in my hair and I let it naturally air dry, I get 2b 2C waves.
    But when I put products in my hair and style my hair with DENMAN BRUSH, and also DIFFUSE, my curls are 3a 3b..
    So I’m a little confuse as to what the natural texture of my hair actually is?
    Also why does this happen? Does the denman brush have the ability to change the natural texture of your hair ?

    • @aleksandralempart8305
      @aleksandralempart8305 4 роки тому

      Too much product will weigh your hair down. Lightweight products can help with that. Denman will help distribute products evenly and remove fairy knots
