The B Team did awesome work recovering this Ford truck. I am very impressed with Kaulins thought processes on this recovery. Great use of your experience Kaulin. The key was you remaining calm and talking about your thoughts. When we put our thoughts into words we are much more logical in our thinking. It's not just for the camera and the subscribers.
Still, it took Jake to get him to do it the also safe fun way, Kaulin was just going to bland it out because it was a big job and he wanted to do it so right that the fun way never occurred to him. Either way, I'm sure Matt is proud
Kaulin is truly turning into a “Chip Off The Old Block” Great job team and a tribute to Matt who has trained his team so well! Love all the MORR videos 👍
He's got to work on that not wearing a coat in freezing cold weather. Other than that, Matt has trained all of his crew to be lead person on the rescues! I like that. (The coat thing is kind of crazy!!)
Hey Matt, the cost of a Texas ranch hand cattle guard is way less than the cost of repeat damage . I have hit a deer at 70 mph, it look like a rag coming out the other end. Paid for it's self right off the start.
My wife and I were there when they went on this recover. We toured the lot and saw some of the other cars. Bucket list. We bought all that merch. They were filming in the shop. If you travel to Hurricane we liked the Rooster Run Cafe. We stayed at Best Western Plus Zion. We toured Zion National Park. Great place.
Glad you had fun! Zion is a great park to visit in the Spring and Fall. To much snow in the winter, and way to hot in the summer. A friend of mine asked if I would drive his motorhome to Zion in July! I asked if he checked the weather, and we went to Sequoia NP in July and Zion the last week of September, 2010, then on to Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta the first week of October. Had a great time in all 3 places!
Only one oppion...when windshield is shattered like that- Please wear safety glasses...its cheaper than a trip to the eye dr or hospital for glass in eye removal.... But y'all did a fabulous job...so proud of all y'all...❤
GLOVES, GLOVES, GLOVES when you crawl into a vehicle with broken windshield think GLOVES to protect your fingers. This crew doesn't always, or sometimes ever, think about PPE, i.e. safety equipment. Stems from a leader/boss who likes to "charge ahead" without pausing to think of eye protection, etc. Running a grinder without eye protection is extremely STUPID. Geez!
I met Jake in person when I stopped into the shop to deliver some cookies and let my son see the wrecker in person. Jake was just as nice off camera as he is on camera. The guy really is super positive and a genuinely nice dude. The whole team was nice, but Jake is a stand out guy.
This was just great! The B team hooked up on a cold fall morning to rescue a truck in a ditch. Problem solving, teamwork, cheerfulness. Just beautiful. Thanks for bringing us along!
In addition to his other skills, Kaulin has does a great job with the commentary. Everyone is so skilled yet all are quite personable, humble and never put on airs (Even the video crew is first rate).
I feel so bad for the customer. they seemed pretty devastated about the rollover. Rightly so. I love how earnest, professional, and respectful Kaulin and Crew were with this recovery. This wasn't a weekender's hobby rig or a company fleet truck; this was the customers daily driver. Kaulin and the crew were very professional. They rocked it.
Ha ha, no man, this is southern Utah. If you're not crashing, you ain't drivin'. I live on this road and the this is how people drive here. I'm og from the midwest 30 years ago, and it still blows my mind they drive this way.
for a guy who said he's driven the same stretch of road hundreds of times...how do you slide off it at speed and roll?!? As a fellow midwesterner, my assumption was maybe booze was involved. Glad no one got hurt
Matt, the next gen has arrived! This could have gone south in several ways but your young crew nailed it big time! No further damage and it rolled out! Congrats all around!
Ed is Gen 1. Matt is Gen 2. This crew is Gen 3. And Gen 3 nailed the recovery. Everyone had ideas, and everyone listened to create the plan that was best. No egos were hurt in the recovery. Great job and great video.
Calls back to that video where Matt says with all the kindness he can muster while stalled out on a steep climb... "would any of you mind using your opposing thumbs and help me move these rocks"
Love Jake's positive attitude. Katelynn, you should really wear some eye protection when moving a vehicle with a windshield like that. Those glass shards will fly around like dust when the truck is flexing while moving...
What a great team. Communication makes everything smooth. No egos in the way. Kaulin is developing into a great leader and content maker. Your whole team gives great "to camera" commentary. Well done B team, or should it be A 2.0.
It’s beginning to look like Kaulin is going take over the recovery business so Matt can focus on his builds. Why else would he need a dedicated engine building room?
I hope not. He always tries so hard to be like his dad, and it comes across as self important. He always says 'I am going to...' when he should be saying 'We are going to...'
@@TrevorDennis100 na, he is still a kid trying to do a good job and keep us informed. He cant do anything BUT act like his dad, that is the guy that has raised and taught him.
Kaulin just got to do what his Dad didn't get to do! Because his Dad taught and gave him the tools, that's AWESOME. Matt has done well in making fantastic kids and a fantastic channel. I love this.
Matt is taking my dad's approach. He told me , when I was young,"I can't teach yo everything, but I'm trying to teach you to think". He did just that, and there's no lesson more valuable! I was so fortunate to have the Dad I had.
Good equipment, a team that works together, looks out for each other and they’re all smart and also take a moment to listen to each other and make appropriate decisions to get the job done. No egos in the way, they’re all respectful of each other and that’s why they make stuff happen! Very cool!
Will you add youth size merch pretty please. My 3 year old grandson loves watching Matt off-road recovery. He always crashes his toy monster trucks and says" Oh, we better call Matts Off Road to get them unstuck"
Kaulin's experience clearly shines through. The way he utilizes his knowledge, combined with the ability to stay composed and explain the process, shows how much his expertise contributed to the recovery. It's a great example of how experience in the field can make all the difference in how smoothly a job is completed, no matter how tough or complicated the situation is.
Well, it's obvious that Kaulin's been paying attention to his dad and learning from a pro! Great job to the entire "B team"! Also, with very positive, can do attitudes! You did MORR proud on this technically difficult recovery!
Proof that the next generation isn't hopeless! Watching these "kids" using winches and rear steer... oh the joy it brings me!!! Wonderful recovery guys!
I have to agree with some of the other commenters. For the sake of all the crew, they should consider having a stash of safety glasses in their vehicles. The team is a little lax on safety and it would be a shame for any of them to incur an eye injury from grinding during field repairs, maneuvering vehicles with broken windshields, etc. Especially the young crew with their whole lives ahead of them.
That happened on one! It was a flooded vehicle and the electronics were shot. Not sure which video but I remember watching it and was like oh dang that scary.
I can't judge this one. One slip on a road you know is what gets you. I had a similar issue with my commute home today. Hit a greasy/icy patch on a corner, and just sort of Tokyo Drifted my way through it. In a front wheel drive car. Fortunately, the driver aid electronics had my back so things were fairly controlled. I wasn't even sure I was sliding until the tyres found grip again. I'd probably have had an even worse time of it without fancy all-weather rubber.
You might consider a full face helmet for the person in the towed vehicle to protect eyes and sudden unexpected movement. (safety first😉) That windshield looked like it could fall out any minute or from any bump.
safety glasses would have been nice but that windshield wasnt gonna fall out from that gentle ride. glass could, would and did fall out and that is where glasses were needed but no danger of a full frontal glass departure.
Kaulin, you demonstrated very good troubleshooting skills during this recovery. Katelyn, that was quite an athletic NASCAR tape dismount out of the pickeup window.
I'm not one to tell folks what to do, but this is one of those times I need to say something. A vehicle that has flipped over or been in a wreck where the airbags didn't deploy is a serious risk of injury to anyone that enters the cabin and turns the key. When the electrical system is energized, there is a chance the airbags could deploy, throwing all those glass shards right in your eyes. Also check to make sure the AC/Heat fan is in the off position before turning the key. Don't need that fan coming on and blowing more debris into your face and eyes.
This is a crew that constantly forgets keys and other important items. Just because they have a camera, doesn’t mean they’re competent. Love the channel but they have no formal training
Wrong. Airbags are "energized" all the time. They can deploy anytime they are triggered, regardless if the key is on or not. Had a car.parked on the street get ready ended and all the airbags deployed. The keys weren't anywhere near it.
Great job getting that truck upright and back on the road - so to speak. I would suggest a upgrade for your tow truck, a couple of motorcycle seats and handlebars to hang on to when riding in the back of the tow truck. Some more padding for your bottom, and something to hang on to that is a little safer than the tubing.
12:10 You don't want the front wheels touching, because when they catch the ground, and tow vehicle is moving, it will create tension, and launch the vehicle being towed, into the back of the wrecker.
It's amazing how many needles of splintered glass fall on the dashboard and seat when your windshield gets blasted. And it's physically impossible to vacuum them all.
12:15 This would be a great time to put on some safety glasses...wrap around sunglasses...even regular glasses would lessen the odds of getting splintering glass shards in your eyes. Two of your 'teammates' had unused pairs resting on their ball caps.
With all that cracking of glass, a pair of goggles might be a good addition to your recovery gear. Keeps glass and tree limbs out of your eyes. You all did a great job getting 'em out with very little difficulty with a great coordinated plan.
Why winch it? Drive Wrecker over berm back up to the front end. Lift and drive it out with wrecker. It's in a wash. No harm to the environment and you can drive down to it hmm...
If I believe movies and series, Americans guys are all the time drinking whisky, tequila and beer “to relax” after work, at bars or at home… All my guests only want water.
Yep, that loose gravel on the sides will snap you off the road in a heartbeat! That had to be scary. I'm glad everyone is ok! Man, watching you guys eat PBJ's made me hungry! And, like you said at the end, cut the top off, cage it and make it a dedicated trail rig! Great video!
