Eva Cassidy , died of cancer before hitting big time...stunning singer
Colter Wall
Irwan Felix
Arpi Alto
Seasons, also by Chris Cornell.
He was one of the greatest. This is a great cover, as is his cover of Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean. RIP Chris.
That Billie Jean cover was mother-flerkin phenomenal \m/
Thank you for your comment! Hope you checked out my brand new PTX reaction video I just posted?
Or of the greatest? Greatest what? Singer from sound Garden?
Love Chris and his special voice. His loss is a tragedy for the music world. 😢🎸🎸🎸🎸
Thank you for your lovely comment and for watching my video until the end. I appreciate it. 😁💖🎸 Can't wait to see you on my 3 LIVES this week! LOL!
More Cornell
Check out his cover of
Billie Jean
I remember crying when I heard the news of his death. RIP Chris... "No one sings like you anymore"
Listen to him sing Say Hello 2 Heaven! 🔥
indeed
For more of Cris Cornell I suggest Temple of the Dog’s Hunger Strike. Added bonus Eddie Vedder just before Pearl Jam’s debut album 10.
And most of it was filmed at Point No Point!
I put off watching this video because this specific cover of this song makes me weep. Absolutely weep. As corny as it sounds, Chris Cornell was one of the most important voices of my generation, and his tragic loss hurt. A deep, soul-wrenching hurt.
And naturally, watching you react to it, I burst into tears. Thank you for the respectful reaction. I've seen other reactors who just... they ruined it for me by not taking it seriously.
Thank you for your comment. Did you like the new reaction to Geoff Castellucci I just posted?
I saw him live doing an acoustic performance only a few months before he died. It will go down as one of my favorite concerts of all time. I was heartbroken when I heard of his passing. To this day I still can't watch him and Chester Bennington perform Hunger Strike without tearing up.
Chris has one of those one of a kind voices you recognize anywhere. You should definitely check out his other work in the groups Soundgarden and Audioslave. There's just so much going on musically in many many of their works.
One of the best voices ever, the world lost a special man but his music lives on. You gotta check out his “Billie Jean” cover
That cello is just HAUNTING
Always loved Chris' voice. It takes you away every time. This was so nice to wake up to 🙂 Thank you, Maggie! Great reaction! 🎶✨🤩🎸🎻
Thank you for your lovely comment and for watching my video until the end. I appreciate it. 😁💖🎸 Can't wait to see you on my 3 LIVES this week! LOL!
This song was a hit in Europe due to Sinead O'Connor singing this. I never knew that Prince wrote it. Thanks for the reaction. Greetings from the Netherlands. 👍🇳🇱🎸🎸
Hell, it was a hit worldwide when she sang it! Never was a fan of Sinead, but damn Chris took this song to a whole nother level!!!
I didn't discover this cover he did until after he passed away. Hit so hard. I cried even though I didn't personally know him.
Thank you for your comment! 😁 Hope you will be at my new PTX Premiere of a reaction video tomorrow? Set your reminder and ring the bell for notifications. See you in the chats!
The most fantastic singer/ performer. Same great either live in both Soundgarden and solo. He will forever be my favorite.
I’m a BIG fan of Cornell. Thanks for this one! Listen to one of his metal songs. “Outshined” is my face.
You should also totally check out Corvyx next. 💜
Thank you for your suggestion!😁 Hope to see you on my LIVES this week?
@@maggiereneemusic I’m trying to make one! I need a clone to do my stuff so I can be free because I know your lives are awesome. I enjoy the replays!
I must have heard this version dozens of times, and every time it punches me right in the feels within seconds. Anyone who can listen to this and not feel every damn feeling Chris is trying to convey is a literal rock.
Thank you for your comment. Metal is next on my channel! 🤘 Set your reminders and 'ring the bell for notifications'! Will you be there tomorrow early in the chats for a fun metal premiere?
I do this version at karaoke, and it's one of my absolute favorite songs to do. His voice was so amazing. Sure do miss it 🥺
Always loved Cornell's voice. Wonderful reaction, Maggie. Stay save and healthy 🎸🎸🎸🎸
My wonderful MOD!! Thank you for your lovely comment and for watching my video until the end. I appreciate it. 😁💖🎸 Can't wait to see you on my 3 LIVES this week! I sooooo appreciate your help!!
There is nothing better then a great artist and a acoustic guitar it’s my favorite way to hear someone perform. It really separates the men and women from the boys and girls .
This was an awesome video...and it warms my heart to see how much you love music.. 🎻
YAY! Glad you enjoyed! Thank you for your lovely comment and for watching my video until the end. I appreciate it. 😁💖🎸 Can't wait for of fun Jerry Day!!
One my favorite covers of this song 😍🥰😍 Ahhhhmazing reaction and big thank you for doing this one !!! 💙🎸
So glad you enjoyed and thank you again for sponsoring this fun video! 😁💖🎸 Can't wait to see you on my 3 LIVES this week! LOL!
I saw Soundgarden twice thankfully. He was one in a million. That voice will never not get me right in the feels
I love this version the best. And then there is Your voice. You sing like an angel.
So sweet! Thanks for your lovely comment! 🤗💖
Song Written by Prince , also singed by him , covered by Sinead O'connor and then By this Chris , can we agree that this cover is the best ?
Not sure Prince ever recorded it, he did write it for Sinead O'Connor and made her a star but Cornell owns this performance.
Prince did record and release his own version of the song. He definitely did not write it for Sinead O’Connor, he wrote it for one of his side projects called “The Family” and he famously hated Sinead’s version which is one of the reasons he made his own version.
There is 100% a recording of Prince singing this as a duet with Rosie Gaines from New Power Generation. It's my favorite version.
@@jrhill518 Did you know that after performing this with Rosie Gaines; he vowed to NEVER sing it with anyone else? I don't remember where I heard that; but it definitely sounds like something Prince would do.
@@joel2421 um he did write it for Sinead O'Connor I don't know where you got your information.
@@serenap.1041 He didn’t. He wrote it for “The Family” and Sinead covered it years later. You could’ve googled the song and found this out in the time it took you to respond incorrectly to me.
He was great; I liked the way he used those yodels; as you mentioned/ he knew how to use them just right. That cello blended well with his voice. I liked that choice to pluck the cello in the beginning. I enjoy going unplugged he did that really well, miss him. Acoustic guitar, for right-handers.
He is one of the best.he will missed
I saw him live in a one man acoustic concert. His voice and range was incredible. Such a tragic loss.
I was lucky enough to see him live at the 2016 Temple of the Dog reunion tour a few months before his passing and it was easily one of the best 5 concerts I've ever been to. He was one of the best ever.
Prince was an absolutely amazing songwriter, who'd gotten his professional start at the age of 17. He'd sent a demo tape in to Warner Brothers records, & Warner Bros pressed the demo & released it. Cornell was a great artist, as well - singer, musician, & songwriter in his own right. It's too bad depression took him, but at least we had him & his music for as long as we did. This song was originally released by a band called The Family, which Prince had put together, but it didn't become a hit until Sinead O'Connor did a cover. Great choice, & I'm glad you shared this.
Another great reaction.🙂💖 I loved his smokey voice.
Thank you for your lovely comment. See you very soon!
Enjoyed this one! Looking forward to the upcoming steams. 👏👏🎸
See you tomorrow!
1 of my personal favorite performances all time.
Incredible version! Always love to watch you reacting, Maggie!
Thanks so much! 🙏💟
@@maggiereneemusic 🥰
How have you never heard this song?? Surely, you knew Sinéad O'Connor. Her cover of Prince's song is what made her.
Best rock voice ever n my book. He was at least n his 50s when he did this on stern

R.I.P. Chris Cornell. He was the greatest vocalist ever IMHO. Please react to his band Soundgarden. Slaves and Bulldozers or Beyond the Wheel really show off his vocal range.
Thx for the kind reaction to whom I consider the greatest and most versatile rock singer of his or any generation! So when do we get to see you do a karate kata to one of your songs? Would love to see you combine the two arts you've mastered!✌

Chris Cornell belongs in any discussion of all-time great rock vocalists. Some of my favorites of his: Soundgarden - Outshined, Soundgarden - Fell On Black Days, Audioslave - Like a Stone, Audioslave - Show Me How To Live.
Thank you for your comment. Metal is next on my channel! 🤘 Set your reminders and 'ring the bell for notifications'! Will you be there tomorrow early in the chats for a fun metal premiere?
I'm so mad at myself. I had the offer of free tickets to see Soundgarden live in KC right before he died, but I turned it down, because I was already going to three concerts right around then, and felt I couldn't afford that time off. If you want to check out more, I suggest his song Can't Change Me, Soundgarden - Rusty Cage, Temple of the Dog Hunger Strike, and Audioslave - Like a Stone.
His performance if Soundgarden's "Fell On Black Days" from this session is so incredible, you really must hear it! 😁
More Chris Cornell please! Like a stone, Show me how to live etc anything that showcases his vocal range. And I love you btw!
I'm just seein this reaction n I don't think u realised at the time that he had already died but the guy is a legend to so many people. He even had a number 1 in the UK for being the main song in a james bond movie
It's a cover to a Prince written song and his is the best!
I saw Soundgarden way back in 1989 when they were still a bit underground during the Louder Than Love album (and they actually opened for Canadian thrashers/gods VOIVOD), they were great live and Chris' vocals were still developing, but this and the Badmotorfinger days were my faves from them because of the youthful journey they were on as a band...didn't care for the path they took after that, though...
...but if you want to react to more Soundgarden/Chris Cornell, I'd suggest "Jesus Christ Pose", "Outshined", or "Rusty Cage" from the BADMOTORFINGER album; "Loud Love" or "Hands All Over" from the LOUDER THAN LOVE album...
Thank you for your comment. Hope to see you on my LIVE tonight?
SInead O Connor has the most poplar version of this song. Definitely need to react to her version.
Right. I don't like Cornels version, its overdone.
I subscribed for the Dimash reactions but I'm staying for the Chris Cornell reactions.
So glad! Hope to see you on my LIVES this week?
RIP Chris you are missed
This is a Prince song, but this beautiful cover to me looks inspired to the more melanconic and also much well known Shinead O'Connor version. Really nice cover and as usual amazing voice by Chris Cornell.
It’s only technically a “Prince” song. His version was like the 3rd or 4th version of the song and was recorded and released after the Sinead O’Connor version. Her version is the most famous version. The original version was by a group called “The Family” and barely charted. One interesting thing is that between The Family version, Sinead version, Prince version, and Cornell’s version, all of the arrangements are very different. Each time the artist was looking to put their own stamp on the song and succeeded.
@@joel2421 I verified and yes, The Family was a band founded by Prince, so it's his song, but had not much attention since Shinead did her version.
@@Fabi72g Not sure what you mean. Of course he wrote it, no one doubts that. My point was that it’s not technically a Prince song because he never made a studio version of it. He only released any recording of it at all because of how much he hated the Sinead version, but his versions were all live. So Cornell couldn’t have been covering Prince when he made his version.
Thank you very much! Hope to see you in the chats in a few minutes?
So good !
Thank you!!
I actually broke down and cried when I heard about it 😞
Prince song. RIP Chris GOAT!
It’s okay to cry
It hurts a little. But I still listen to him.
Greatest Rock vocalist of all time.

Great voice! Really nice guitar work. And once again the use of a single cello in non-classic music, a trend I much approve.
Glad you like it!
🎸 great reaction!
Thank you for your lovely comment and for watching my video until the end. I appreciate it. 😁💖🎸 Can't wait to see you on my 3 LIVES this week! LOL!
A great track. Compared to some of his other work, this one is very subdued. The man could wail with the best of them.
You need to watch Black Hole Sun, or Fell On Black Days, or Burden in My Hand, or like something else by Soundgarden, in his absolute prime (The Badmotorfinger / Superunknown / Down on the Upside era of Soundgarden) he could hit inhuman notes with ease. Jack Black once said "When Chris Cornell sang, it was like he ripped a hole into another dimension and released a note that just didn't exist in ours." truly one of rock's greatest vocalists, R.I.P.
Awesome review
Slaves and Bullldozers! I would love to hear your analysis. Young Chris was insane. The live version of Outshined in the early 90's as well.
Check out his vocal performance on the Soundgarden song "Slaves and Bulldozers"
His cover of The Beatles A Day In The Life is phenomenal
I can't believe you don't know this song.... Well, being introduced to it by Chris isn't a bad way to hear it for the first time. Prince wrote the song but Sinead O'Connor made it famous in the 90's... You should check out hear rendition. Very emotional and why Chris chose to cover it. Chris has tons of great covers. His cover of Billie Jean is awesome. Say Hello To Heaven and Hunger Strike with Temple of the Dog. Like a Stone and Cochise with Audioslave and Blackhole Sun and Outshined and Fell on Black Days are a few to choose from.. Hope that helps you down this rabbit hole... Love your voice... And your reactions... All the best to u

Wow! What a great guitar emoji! LOL Wonderful reaction as always! I must be way too tired right now. The first sideways glance at the cellist shocked me. I could have sworn it was Austin Brown! Second glance changed that impression. I was surprised that you didn't have better comments (did I miss them?) about the cellist. I thought his contribution to this was very meaningful. I do agree, however about the acoustic guitars sounding wonderful (not like my guitar solos). Love you as always, Miss Maggie. Just pick any random Home Free performance (even one of their silly monologues like the "Tim's story time" ones) There isn't a bad apple in any of their stuff. Grin Keep it going, sweet girl!

His vocals in this remind me of Procul Harum- Whiter Shade of Pale
🎸🎸Respect for Mr. Cornell(RIP) his voice was suburb and he did an excellent job on this song. However still prefer the Sinead O'Connor version of it. Perhaps Miss Renee you would consider reacting to that version and then compare the two. Would be interested in hearing your thoughts! Hello Maggie..good night from Indonesia..👍👍
Hello 😊
Song written by prince and given to and made world famous in the 90s by sinead oconnor
You have to check out Outshined by Soundgarden, Hunger Strike by Temple of The Dog and Cochise by Audioslave. This is were Chris Cornell's vocals shine. He is best when he is doing his rock singing. Chris is my 2nd favourite vocalist ever. Only beaten by Freddy Mercury.
React to Soundgarden Beyond the Wheel to hear him hit super high belts when he was young it's amazing.
🎸
This song was written by prince but he didnt release it right away it was released by sinade O'Conner at first who did it so well.
He is a rock god
I like his cover of “Patience” by Axl Rose, which has recently gotten a lot of radio play. Other great examples of his vocals are “Spoonman” and “Black Hole Sun”, both by Soundgarden, and “Cochise” by Audioslave. He has one of the greatest and most unique voices in Rock music history.

Hi Maggie, love this version better than the original (Prince),and even the version by Sinned O'Connor that really made this song famous worldwide
Thank you for your lovely comment. Hope to see you on my LIVE tonight?
Check out “Hunger Strike” by temple of the dog. Young Chris in 1991 showing off all them octaves!
Always a nice change when the solo switches from the verse to the chorus, rather than just using the same chord loop.
He did a cover of Billy Jean that actually makes the song listenable.
I spend a lot of time at his gravesite. He was the voice of my generation
Gotta listen to get away car by audioslave if you wanna hear some real singing by Chris, this song is a beautiful tribute to Prince but if you wanna hear some range and blues do yourself a favour and listen to audioslaves 1st album
