I too had the honor of meeting Billy at a bar in Tokyo, After meeting him I had the pleasure of kicking his ass in a foozball game.Loser had to buy a round of beers. And to add to this my band was playing in another bar in Tokyo,(different time) and was surprised to see Paul walk in.He quickly jumped up on stage and jammed with us.After jamming a couple of tunes he came up behind me and began to play my bass while I was still wearing it. A memory that I will never forget.
Had the honor of jamming for an hour with Paul at his Great Guitar Escape 2013 in NY a few weeks ago. What an incredible experience the whole thing was, EVERY guitarist needs to experience that! Joey Lodes
One of the best bass n guitar jams I've seen on youtube. There was chemistry and complimentary playing going on rather than mindless shredding in other "big name" player's videos.
@ValhallaAwaitsU I met Billy Sheehan on the B3 tour in 2007. My dad and myself talked with him for nearly an hour. Mr. Sheehan said that I have the coolest dad EVER. Billy was awesome.
Considering how many "guitar gods" have sat back on their past accomplishments, it is refreshing to see an amazing player like Paul Gilbert continue to improve as he gets older. Not only can the guy melt faces with incredible technique, but his phrasing, dynamics, and feel can rival the greatest blues player. He's a great melodic songwriter as well. Billy is absolutely scary on bass.
Finally, That Metal Show on VH1 Classic got super cool and had Billy Sheehan on a couple weeks ago and finally got a REAL guest guitarist in Paul Gilbert on their show. I was wondering when Trunk was gonna get with it.
@oker59 I'm glad to see a blues man keep such an open mind, I am constantly seeing blues guys bash shredders as calling them soulless, and have no emotion. It's good to meet a true musician instead of a sheep. :)
@gotbass33727 I spoke to him after the Mr. BIG concert in Holland, to the entire band, They are all awesome! But Billy and I were just drinking a beer and talking 'bout stuff, not specifically music, that was the cool part!
I'm basicaly a bluesman, from Bessie Smith(non guitarist) to Lonnie Johnson, Blind willie McTell Son House, Robert Johnson(of course), to Otis Rush, Freddie King, B.B. Kind(of course), Buddy Guy( . . .), to Eric Clapton, Peter Green, Mick Taylor . . . Stevie Ray Vaughn, but, I do like to give these neo-classical shredd guys a listen every now and then(Adrian Vandenberg!). There's some stuff better than others, Steve Vai. He's done great things; but, I like Paul Gilbert the most.

1:15 - "Where's my tremolo bar!"
Paul knows how to keep it simple, and it still sounds fantastic.
Sssssweet. Billy's bass sounds like a freakin earth Quake!
when you see these two names together then you know, something awesome is going to happen. it did.
i wanna be like them when im 40-50 years old. jamming around, making songs, tour around the world, and rock the stage. ahhhh, what a job.

Joey Lodes
Wow! They're both such masters of their instruments.
ah man, these boys don't cease to amaze me :) HARD Blues Rock forever!
paul gilbert & billy sheehan DAMN COOL BLUESY JAM
I like how Paul even starts playing rhythm so that Billy can solo on the bass. Classy move.
There's Billy Sheehan, and then there's most other bass players. He's truly one of a kind talent!

I've been lucky enough to shake the hands of both Paul and Billy!
that was awesome!!! they play off each other so well!
I knew Billy Sheehan had chops before I watched this video but he's even better than I thought. Good lord, what Entwistle-y chops.
absolutely two of my al time fav musicians and nice guys to boot.!!!!!
two of the best ever jamming together. totally amazing.
The Blues will never die. It is the mother of Rock & Roll. No matter how many new labels or terms come up to describe Rock & Roll.
two masters at their craft

hohhoh ooooowhooooooooooo! BILLY SHEEHAN The bass solo from heaven.
this is the first thing i've ever heard gilbert play that i liked. he gets into some crazy jimmy page territory here... this is really good.
While all the new kids wants Scooped hollow mids with no definition, billy is not afraid to push his tone infront and be heard through the crowd.
Paul gets better tone with his teeth than i can get on the best of days.
two real masters.
Pure awesomeness. I guess I'll stick with my day job.
amazing
You can smell the smoke from Paul's playing. Yep, he is definitely on fire...

Two Gods jamming!
Such a ballsy bass tone.
@oker59 I'm glad to see a blues man keep such an open mind, I am constantly seeing blues guys bash shredders as calling them soulless, and have no emotion. It's good to meet a true musician instead of a sheep. :)

Great jam, and I only just realized how much Billy looks like Shawn Michaels from the WWE lol! :)
@ValhallaAwaitsU I've met them both and had them sign some Mr Big stuff. Both very nice guys.
billy's got that really thick and dry geezer butler sound. Really cool
dat bass!
I want a Fireman!
His Fireman is in a way like some "Gibstratobanez" hybrid...I love That...:D
That ending, fuck...
I want Paul Gilbert's shirt.
