As a guitarist myself i personally like watching these and seeing paul a pro guitarist make a mistake on guitar. It shows what being a pro is all about, making mistakes like you intended them to be there. Or rather falling with style.
Yup Paul, it sounds beautiful and as usual you gave me a really cool thing to work on. Only problem - It never sounds as good as Paul. The Chuck Norris of guitar.
for all you guitar playersout there,if you play solos remember to mak use of arpeggios like this because thats what makes the difference between melodic solos and just crazy fast pentatonic
seriously, the people that dislike this are part of an advanced race of people from a distant planet vacationing here that have 28 fingers on each hand and can play 3 guitars at the same time. This is nothing to them.
@RoarCrusade Actually the reverse may be true. once you learn to play fast, it's hard to slow down and be just as accurate. also, when you play slower, it's a lot easier to hear the mistakes.
Seems like Paul kind of has a vintage bent lately, and I like it. Marshall Vintage modern, single coils, no whammy use, 22 frets, pedals and no rack effects. His tone has never sounded so good. His new album is so good.
@hallbergjonatan I think the fact that these type of guys can have fun with it but are never "satisfied" is what makes them so great. But having fun while not being the greatest is the real secret I think.
he just said that he got inspired with bulgarian music... how many musicians would admit that.... or even listen to theese music¿?....what a genious, visionary..
No scales, he just arpeggiated chords. A arpeggio is a chord where you play one chord tone at a time, ála fingerpicking. He maps out all the chord tones to the chord. if i was gonna chord solo over a simple progression from c major an g major, i could just map out ceg from the c chord and the gbd from the g chord. It will always sound great. try experimenting with scales and arpeggios, some flashy licks with a chord and some cool passing licks with a scale or mode.
like u saw, the chords used are the arpeggios !, you only make the chord note by note belong the strings... understood ? one example is the chord of C major... c, e and g ... and you also can put the 7 ( in the example of C it goes B) and the another bass like the video, like a chord G/B...
It's almost depressing how ridiculously clean he plays it. I barely got it up to about 3/4 of his speed and then my fingers started failing me
this is at 125bpm.. i cant get past 85.. so just another 10 years of solid practice and im there! thanks paul
Every single note sounds so GODDAMM perfect.
could listen to it in a loop forever...

ahhhhh so good, why is his tone so beautiful
Really humble man with incredible talent. Just great man.

I LOVE his new tone!
Very Beautiful! I'm inspired to pick up my guitar again. Thankyou Paul. :)
Well, I'll add this to my ever-growing list of Gilbert pieces I want to learn.

This guy is undischarged box of inspiration!
I wonder if Paul Gilbert ever gets on youtube to check out comments about his videos

i know i cant ever play this good, but I'm happy to someone who can
He's so amazingly intelligent.
Supreme musicality.

Genius Paul!
hes so musical its insane.

I can't believe I didn't take a dump in my pants O_O
These arpeggios are beautiful!
I like hes clean tone...
He got this from lute and bulgarian singers. what a boss...

Maestro!

hes a True G..
This guy is crazy - he has himself a dozen new guitars built for every album he throws out every year...
fucking genious!!!

that's a lot to digest for a guitar player of my caliber...

Reminds me of a little of Racer X and a little of Final Fantasy.
When you play a "special" arpeggio do you high 5 someone?
the real question is, is the studio Paul Gilbert quality?
His tone is MUUUUUCH better now. Not that I hated it before.....
You ever just sit and listen to the rhythm of Paul's pick strikes on the notes?
Why is the name of this profile Flexibleleftovers! These aint no leftovers!!
Nice
any one know what scale/mode he's using here?
I love watching and listening to Paul, but, man, he makes me want to sell my guitars and take up gardening.
nice..
Did he really mention Silvius Weiss?
Paul is on single-coil hehe!
I thought this would have something to do with a new Olympic sport, namely finger exercises.
he made a small mistakes cause he slowed down. usually ppl make mistake playing faster
i though this guitar is same as a strat, the body is the only one thing that changes
i bet hes giving out all these pieces to everyone and they still probably cant get it right like he can
I think they dislike it because even they can't play it :D
sweet and creamy sound.....
