    Old School mini trucker here 55 y.o I run 15x10 reverse on 195/50-15 on my 93 d21 and 86 b2000. The trucks are lowered. You can run 205/50-15 205/60-15 or larger tires to fill the wheel opening. I like the lowered look with wheels poking out but its to the persons preference.

    Dude this channel is awesome! Cheers from Australia! I’ve got a 81 2wd that I’m swapping a built 3rz and turbo into, and a diesel 2.8 turbo swapped 85 4wd!

    On the 15x10 rims you can use 205/65 tires if you want them to be a little higher, and if you want them to be thinner you can use 195/50. Greetings from North Carolina

    Torque thrusts are cool. If your going blue with the truck you could make it look like the tamiya bruiser rc truck from the 80s

    It looks better with the 15x10 with not very thick tires, those rims are classic too. 🔥🔥

      I agree, thick sidewalls take away from the visual depth of the wheel.

    I have an '89 and I put the 17-in sienna minivan wheels on them and they are perfect with the fenders in the rear the front I did have to put a spacer.

    • @alfredobrown
      @alfredobrown 3 місяці тому +1

      I thought sienna's center bore is smaller than the pickup? What year sienna sid you use?

    • @6thGearGarage
      @6thGearGarage  3 місяці тому +1

      The spacer probably solved the center bore problem, if the spacers were not hub centric.

    The Ronal wheels, although I might choose something skinnier personally. Seems like wheels that wide might hurt "performance" when paired with a 22r. Speaking of which - the prototype wheels were actually my favorite look, but that much stagger doesn't make sense.
    Nice wheel collection!

    6GG I’d like to know how you lowered the pickup? What parts did u use for the Front & Rear? I like the look

    • @6thGearGarage
      @6thGearGarage  Місяць тому

      It's lowered on drop spindles up front, which required updating to 84+ suspension: ua-cam.com/video/3rF7W55DuaQ/v-deo.html The rear is lowered with 3" drop leafs: ua-cam.com/video/SZtaLFsBB1Q/v-deo.html But then I also mini-notched the frame: ua-cam.com/video/ylkHDaurM6A/v-deo.html So that I could install 4" blocks: ua-cam.com/video/qxkQqtLPfNg/v-deo.html Oh and I also installed air shocks on the rear for when I'm hauling heavy things: ua-cam.com/video/2yqD-gAVtSI/v-deo.html The truck rides great for a slammed toyota. The steering isn't very crisp, but I'm also riding on wider than stock 14" balloon tires on 14x5" rims. Once I get some larger wheels on, I hope that will improve.

    I have the same toyota hilux with brake drums at the front and rear. Will those wheels fits well at the front?

    • @6thGearGarage
      @6thGearGarage  Місяць тому +1

      Which set of wheels were you referring to? Mine has front discs from a 1986 1-ton, so I'm not sure how they would fit with drums. Usually it's easier to fit wheels on drums, since thee's no caliper to interfere.

    You're not going to like my like ... I prefer the boring ole originals. Not that I'm not impressed with your wheel stash, bc I def am, I don't think I saw it before in any of your vid, but that's awesome how you got that cool collection of wheels, simply amazing. Even rare ones. But, tbh, and ik I'm the oddball here .. I happen to prefer the cheapest or lowest trim oem or the closest relative on these things. Just my $0.02. One reason is least likely to be thief bait. Another is I'm just a fool for nostalgia. That being said, the truck is obviously modified even from a glance, so, in that case ... I really like the last two you put on.

    • @6thGearGarage
      @6thGearGarage  3 місяці тому +1

      I actually agree with you 100%. The whole reason I didn't go any bigger on the brake upgrade was so that I could still fit the OEM 14" steel wheels. I cleaned up the chrome dog dish hubcaps and put them on and it looks really good. Even when I refinish a set of the aftermarket wheels for this truck, I'll be holding on to the OEM 14" steelies to swap them on sometimes. Something about dog dish hubcaps on an old truck looks cool to me.
