My only complaints are no tongue and too short of teeth (most likely because we see Topher’s face more than Venom’s). But if there’s one thing I REALLY love about this Venom design is that Topher’s teeth are pointed. It’s a nice touch.
Cherti Kinamoto the only downside of him for me was the claws, they were basically giant teeth on the end of his fingers rather than the the all black hands/claws. I also agree with your statements as well. The best part of him was the webs being part of the symbiote.

Despite how short-lived Venom's presence in the film was, it definitely left a mark on the audience. Topher Grace actually was a neat pick for the role as Eddie Brock. The resentment he bears towards Peter just feels so real, it's believable.
I do wish him and Peter got to fight more. Maybe the scene with the pipes could have been more back and forth. Also when Peter kicks him off of Harrys throw I feel there could have been a little something more there.

One of the things I like best about this scene and the 2000s Spider-Man movies is how just how much Spidey is adored by almost everyone in city. The way the crowd cheers, just shows how Spider-Man is a beacon of hope just like Superman.

2:38 You can actually feel the impact alongside the struggle when Peter is falling, and when he does you actually FEEL it. I think personally this is something the new Spider-Man movie lacks (as in mostly Tom Holland), it doesn't feel like he's actually there and that there is no depth to it.

They never did a sequel because Sam Raimi didn't want to put Venom in the film but Sony forced him to. So Raimi did it even though he didn't know anything about the character. The movie came out and Venom's fans didn't like the character (even though he's almost faithful to the comics, knowing that he develops Eddie contrary to the comics). The movie made a huge box office score but received bad reviews, Raimi left the Spider-Man 4 project because Sony wanted to put Carnage, after Raimi's departure it was Maguire who followed. And after all that Sony decided to do that Amazing Spider-Man shit that tries to be like The Dark Knight. And after all that we had a horrible Venom movie that massacres the character of Eddie, Venom and all the other characters in the movie. Sorry it's long but it's a very complicated story to summarize :)

Honestly love the design for Venom in this film. Yeah he's scrawny, I wish his tongue was longer & wish they didn't show Topher Grace's face so much as Venom. But as far as cgi goes from 2007, it honestly still looks great!!!
At 2:37 I always wondered why Peter focused on getting the symbiote off instead of saving himself first, maybe because he was afraid it would take him over again, but I only realized now that Venom actually webbed his hands to his chest so he couldn't swing, terrifying and just went over my head for so long.

I know. Hell I could've beat Vulture lol. The least they could've done was give him an Ironman-esque exosuit so he could trade some blows with Peter. Those make shift wings and body harness didn't really cut it for me. Seemed more like a side villain then a super villain.
Spider-Man 3 has aged incredibly well, this Venom’s design is nightmare fuel and left a huge mark on me as a child, the final battle between these two felt personal and earned. It really displayed how Venom and Eddie Brock is Peter's dark mirror and he has to overcome it to be a true hero.
I love how this Venom’s look incorporates the original uncanny detail of his face looking like he‘s a man wearing a mask and a feral creature with a beast-like mouth… at the same time. It’s monstrous, horror-like, and defines the character as what he‘s supposed to be (looking at you, Tom Hardy’s version): an evil and twisted version of Spider-Man.
Imagine in Doctor Strange 2 if Tobey's Spider-Man shows up like in the beginning of this video. It's very possible since Raimi is directing and it involves multiverses with Doctor Strange being mentioned in Spider-Man 2.
Honestly I remember this clearly, I had so much anticipation for spiderman and venom to fight and everything was perfect, venom attacking spiderman unexpectedly on the car , then they aeiral fight . This scene had every body on the edge of their seat. Movie was heavily criticized but this build up was amazing and gave me goosebumps. Especially that AERIAL FIGHT. TRULY EPIC.

@@glassymink230 I don't think CGI was necessarily bad it's just that it was developing, because by the time this film was published, Autodesk Maya was only about 10 years old. CGI is still moving forward today and maybe in a few years there will be even better ways to make photorealistic digital humans.

To this day, I'll never understand how this version of Venom quote, "isn't" Venom. HOW can that be so? His on-screen design bears a close enough resemblance to the Venom we all know and love (albeit less hulking/muscle-bound). The spider symbol on the chest and back is there, the fact that his webs fire out of the tops of his hands, his toothy mouth, big tongue, white eyes, everything. Like the classic comic-book Venom, he's immune to Peter's Spider Sense, and we see Eddie Brock's personality be shaped into something resembling that of his comic counterpart's. Only here it's got a twist because Eddie comes to hate not only Spider-Man, but *Peter* as well prior to his bonding with the symbiote. Plus, Eddie's work/background is in print media (newspapers). Sure, here, he's a rival photographer instead of a journalist, but that characteristic's still there. So overall, I say this is a mostly accurate representation of Venom in this film. I for one haven't read a ton of the comics that he stars in, but from I *do* know about Eddie Brock as Venom, I personally am gonna call this a mostly accurate representation of the familiar comic Eddie/Venom. So HOW exactly is this "not" Venom?

This version was still physically more than a match for Spidey, able to overpower him and such. If Sam Raimi had continued on with his Spider-Man trilogy, chances are Carnage might have been introduced at some point (at least from what I've heard).

I never knew how utterly hilarious it was seeing Venom scream before attacking. Get’s hit by a brick, screams again. Gets punched in return, screams again. Watching this again, I could not stop laughing! But as a kid, I was too busy covering my eyes out of fear whenever Venom was on screen 😂

This is actually one of my favorite Venom designs. The less bulky build and deeply carved mouth really make him seem feral. Deranged. I love it.

At 2:37 I always wondered why Peter focused on getting the symbiote off instead of saving himself first, maybe because he was afraid it would take him over again, but I only realized now that Venom actually webbed his hands to his chest so he couldn't swing, terrifying and just went over my head for so long.
This isn't the Spider-Man we deserve, but the Spider-Man we need.

Spider-Man 3 has aged incredibly well, this Venom’s design is nightmare fuel and left a huge mark on me as a child, the final battle between these two felt personal and earned. It really displayed how Venom and Eddie Brock is Peter's dark mirror and he has to overcome it to be a true hero.

I love how this Venom’s look incorporates the original uncanny detail of his face looking like he‘s a man wearing a mask and a feral creature with a beast-like mouth… at the same time. It’s monstrous, horror-like, and defines the character as what he‘s supposed to be (looking at you, Tom Hardy’s version): an evil and twisted version of Spider-Man.

Honestly I remember this clearly, I had so much anticipation for spiderman and venom to fight and everything was perfect, venom attacking spiderman unexpectedly on the car , then they aeiral fight . This scene had every body on the edge of their seat. Movie was heavily criticized but this build up was amazing and gave me goosebumps. Especially that AERIAL FIGHT. TRULY EPIC.

As a one and done baddy, this Venom made sense. But if you are going to go antihero then Eddie needs to be humanized more and Venom has to have a code.

CGI is still moving forward today and maybe in a few years there will be even better ways to make photorealistic digital humans.

I love the begining of this scene when it all is at it's worse this one man brings hope to the people.

To this day, I'll never understand how this version of Venom quote, "isn't" Venom. HOW can that be so? His on-screen design bears a close enough resemblance to the Venom we all know and love (albeit less hulking/muscle-bound). The spider symbol on the chest and back is there, the fact that his webs fire out of the tops of his hands, his toothy mouth, big tongue, white eyes, everything. Like the classic comic-book Venom, he's immune to Peter's Spider Sense, and we see Eddie Brock's personality be shaped into something resembling that of his comic counterpart's. Only here it's got a twist because Eddie comes to hate not only Spider-Man, but *Peter* as well prior to his bonding with the symbiote. Plus, Eddie's work/background is in print media (newspapers). Sure, here, he's a rival photographer instead of a journalist, but that characteristic's still there.
So overall, I say this is a mostly accurate representation of Venom in this film. I for one haven't read a ton of the comics that he stars in, but from I *do* know about Eddie Brock as Venom, I personally am gonna call this a mostly accurate representation of the familiar comic Eddie/Venom. So HOW exactly is this "not" Venom?
well, HE NEEDS TO BE BIGGER. A lot of fans know that Venom is huge, with muscles and awesome guns to rival Thanos. *also* he needs an offspring like Carnage.

If Sam Raimi had continued on with his Spider-Man trilogy, chances are Carnage might have been introduced at some point (at least from what I've heard).
