    I was able to follow along and complete a basket of my own. This is one of the best crochet tutorials I've watched so far. Project was a success. I used the Lions Brand yarn. It was my first time working with a crochet hook this small and counting stitches was pretty easy. Thanks again for sharing!

    I had to refer to the written pattern a few times to clear up some confusion about stitch counts. It’s also very important to know how to easily count stitches especially if using darker yarn than in the video. But a great basket and a pretty decent tutorial.

    First do you have a pdf that is printable?
    2nd would you share the measurements of what the bottom before starting the sides?
    And lastly how would you go about making it larger? 🤔

    Your tutorial is 👍 I just had these few questions as I am going along with the video and trying to hard I think hahaha 😆 but am very curious about making it larger how the increase would go...

    I decided to crochet like 5 days ago with the idea of a basket as a gift. Im sad my basket is flawed, row increase on second color is a diagonal, my bottom i had to get into another yard for the last two rounds, counts were off by the end.. idk what I've done wrong but for my first project it is close and still inpressed with myself. I will be attempting again. Tips for beginner?

    • @samanthaschmidt2620

    • @MeghanMakesDo
      @MeghanMakesDo  4 роки тому +1

      Hi! When you join the second color you will add it when you do your slip stitch to connect the row before. So when you are ending your last row with the first color, switch to the second during your join. Hope that makes sense.

      So glad you like the pattern. I'm not exactly sure how many rounds you'd have to add to use up all six balls, but you can increase the base rounds until you get the size you'd like. Just make sure you're increasing each extra round by 6 stitches. Then you'll need to add extra rounds to the top too.

    Love the video! First time I have crocheted. My basket looks great but I have, I’m sure a beginners error, my join keeps traveling....so it’s diagonal instead of straight up 🤔
    Any idea how I might have done this? It still looks great, but I’d like to improve my skills. Thanks 🙏

    • @MeghanMakesDo
      @MeghanMakesDo  3 роки тому +1

      I would definitely use a stitch marker so you know where each round starts and ends. Don't forget the ch 1 doesn't count as a stitch so you should be slip stitching into the same st you started your round with.

    • @sarahh3903
      @sarahh3903 3 роки тому +1

      This isn't an error. The crochet is actually working in a spiral not a circle so you will always have a traveling line because of the nature of the spiral. I'm a perfectionist so I did some research on how to remedy this. look up "The invisible slip stitch:" ua-cam.com/video/UjSCCTPMM_I/v-deo.html & for invisible slip stitch color change: ua-cam.com/video/UjSCCTPMM_I/v-deo.html (these tutorials helped me immensely and it works) Hope this helps.

    I want to make this, but wider/bigger for storage of my daughters toys as right now she just has 3 seperate small baskets holding it all and it gets so messy no matter how I try to organise them. How would I work out how to keep adding increases to the base of the basket? As I don't want it super tall since shes only 2 years old so rather just make it wider

    • @MeghanMakesDo
      @MeghanMakesDo  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Stephanie! To make the basket bigger you’ll need to add rounds to the bottom. You’ll add 6 sts per round. Just make sure you’re spacing the increases out each round so they don’t lay right on top of each other. That will keep your basket round.

  • @stevana01
    @stevana01 3 роки тому +2

    Hi there! I hope you see this... do you have a pattern version for smaller sizes? Or what rows/rounds to stop at for small/med

    • @MeghanMakesDo
      @MeghanMakesDo  3 роки тому

      I don't have a set pattern, but it would be super easy to adjust. Just take out some of the initial base rounds. When you are happy with the size of your circle, start following the instructions at the end of Round 18. Then just continue to add rounds until you have the height that you want. To add the handles you'll have to figure out where to place them so they are even on both sides. Hope that helps!

    • @MeghanMakesDo

      You'll be making your increases in different spots so you get a more round shape. You would start with 5 sc, increase in the 6th st, then sc 4 and repeat that sequence. You will end up with 9 sts in between the increases until the end, then you will do 4 sc. Hope that makes sense. It may help to see the written instructions which are up on my blog.

      Hi Diana, it sounds like you may be adding a stitch in each round. I find it helps to place a stitch marker in the first st of the round so I know where to join and start the next round. Count how many stitches you have in your last round and if it is more than the pattern indicates then you may be accidentally adding stitches.

  • @thenaturallife-tq4ib

      Hello, hopefully I can help. The increase should count as 2 sts in your final counts. Make sure you start round 12 with 3 sc, then increase, then sc 7 and repeat so you'll have 10 sts inbetween each increase until the end where you will sc 7. Let me know if that helps at all.
