I bought a Kensington 20B On the 5th of June and still waiting for my verticutter cartridge 😞. Got my scarifier cartridge it woks great. Overall a great machine but very slow for accessories.
Great video Dan You’re right about the scarifier attachment it works brilliantly. I found it had to be set a 1 for height for it to operate smoothly. Not having to rake the grass up is a Bonus makes the job easy as well as worthwhile. Great piece of kit.
Keep on going and run through the finish line. Love the videos and commentary. (Glad you mentioned scarifier..I’m saving for my first cassette and will put it in the lead)
Nice video, great to see an expert at work. Maybe in an upcoming video can you tell us about your experience with cylinder blades on the Allett , how often you sharpen them and if you backlap etc. And how much do you pay for regrinding?
Great video. Did you have the setting on S for the scarifying. I did my front lawn on Sunday about 60M2 on S setting got 2 wheelie bins full of thatch out. Lawn looks like a hay field now, no green to be seen, it's a right mess. Fingers crossed it will recover. Thank you.
cordless stihl..you get the scarifier ,the verticutter ,the machine and a battery for the price of just the allett verticut cassette..purity for worm casts..use 3x what they say
Excellent explanation. I have the Qualcast with both mower and scarifier cassettes. I think I’ve worked out it’s the same cassettes as the Allett machine. I think the verticutter will deal better with the Poa Annua and weeds maybe, in its cutting action. It’s something I want to buy next as well as a 10 blade cylinder.
Found your channel this year Daniel and it's become my fav lawn care channel and look fwd to each new upload. I'm about to purchase an Allett in the next few weeks but alittle confused over getting the extra attachments. Allett and yourself in this video recommend the the scarifier if you could only purchase the one, but in a video a few days back you were pleasantly surprised by the verticuter on scarify duties, plus you seem to use that attachment\method most often (at least in the videos you post), so was wondering if it was more versatile over the season? my lawns are a mix of fescues\meadow\bent although I've been overseeding with dwarf ryes this year so wonder if that makes any difference vs the predominant dwarf rye lawns you build\care for.
Hi Daniel, I love what you are producing. I live in the north west like yourself. How many times do you suggest scarifying each year? I have been looking after my own lawns for over twenty years. However since watching your channel it has me wanting to reach new levels. I scarified my front lawn in August and I admit I went over the top manually doing it. It has come back better than ever though. Keep up the great work
Think that scarifier attachment will be on my Christmas list. Had the battery liberty 35 earlier this year and wondered if I should get this attachment as I already have an electric scarifier but I guess it will free up space in the shed. One last thing, the ooo yeahs remind me of the 80's and 90's wrestler randy savage. Do you remember him? Oooooo yeah!! 😁

Hi Dan, do you think this attachment is all you need in terms of a scarifier? And therefore no need for a more typical scarifier as well? It seems abit more gentle that’s all.
Just found your channel wish I found it earlier. Quick question, If I may. I have just had a new lawn laid (would have seeded if found you before) and need a mower. I see you use rotary and cylinder but only look to buy one. What would you recommend a rotary or cylinder? Many thanks - love to the channel
Love your videos. Want you opinion. If you were like me and about to buy the Allett, would you still go with the 17" or 20"? I dont have a massive lawn by any means but just wondered whether there's a huge advantage for each model. Thanks
Did the rotary end up scalping when you dropped it down to level 2 ? My rotary does enjoy going down to lower levels either, it hates going below anything under 2.5 inch cut
Something I would be interested to know and may be a good idea for a video how soon can I start over seeding is it a case of looking at the forecast I'm finding a damp relatively warm period or is it best to wait for a particular date?
Mid march you could start but i wait till April really as still very cold in bolton if you do it in march you run the risk of it germinating then getting frost or snow damaged
great stuff, Allett arrives next week and my project starts to get a decent lawn by next year.
What a thumbnail. Legend 😁 Great video too 😍
😂😂😂 You was supposed to say your not ugly!!
Got my eye on the alett and various cartridges they look great !!

@@woodpecker80 Hi.. Sorry about the wait. We're having another crazy year for demand. It will be worth the wait :)
A great video fella, that lawn looks great. I’ve got a 20b on order with the scarifier. Would love a lawn like that. Top channel, keep them coming 👍🏻
I bought a qualcast 35s with the scarifier attachment just for this purpose. Great bit of kit to have.

I got one with one with my 14” classic. I’ll give a try this weekend

Great video what height are you cutting with the cylinder what number is in the height setting window ? thanks in advance
Hi Daniel just 1 question what's the purpose of the front roller on the mower will it not flatten the grass before cutting it👍👍

No 1
Nice grass 😁
How has that lawn not got any poa growing in it…? Fantastic job… that’s an A1 lawn. Flawless.
It has a little bit

Wouldnt bother with the 10 bladed cylinder
Thanks just thought more blades cutting the grass.

Harsh wise twice once march once august/september but nothing wrong with grooming in between times
Thanks for the comments
If the thatch is still coming out, why do you stop scarifying?
Only so many hrs in the day and only do much my customer wants to spend, if it was my house i would of done
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert thanks for this. I was thinking too much removal in one go could harm the lawn
Love your videos. Is there any way you can grown lawn under a tree? I’m trying as it’s not fully in shade but struggling, could it be the tree roots?

oooo yyeeaahhh macho man randy savage
and then davey boy smith says, im the british bulldog and your going down then the undertaker says slam!

if you only have enough for one then it would have to be a rotary as more versatile
What would be the reason to use the verticutter attachment of you have the scrafiying rake cassette? Don't they do different things?
To get the lines

17 for sure
how often do you change-up the mow pattern? If you mow stripes one way, do you mow them the opposite way the next mow?
That was maybe the 2nd time this year
Do you do any kind of leveling with your lawns after they are established.
Not really maybe 70/30 kiln dried for micro undulations but no once its done its fixed
What month of the year do you mow the last cut.👍👍
December on most but some get cut in Jan too
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert thanks for replying back. WOW jan wasn't expecting that must be a well maintain lawn 👍👍

Not scalping as such as i said in the vid scalping would leave rings all over the show and there was none of thise
lawn order

Every 2 week if keen
