Deep Rock Galactic has a lot of inside jokes. Just play a few tens of hours of the game and watch some DRG content, then you'll learn.
The following are some terms/tidbits in the community:
= Greenbeard - New players. Everyone starts here on their journey to become a greybeard.
= Greybeard - Veteran players. There's no strict requirement on when you can consider yourself a greybeard, but it's generally a term used for people who have extensive knowledge of the game.
= Rock and Stone! - A phrase used when saluting and to express excitement.
= Pointy-eared leaf lover - Elves. We hate elves.
= Leaf Lover's Special - Do not, under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, order this. If someone else orders it, don't drink it. It gets rid of your drunkenness. Grab it off the counter and jump into the incinerator with it. If you want to sober up, order a blackout stout or drink until you pass out (incinerator optional).
= Compressed Gold and Mushrooms - Ping these until Mission Control gets annoyed. When he does, ROCK AND STONE! (salute)
You'll learn the rest by playing together with the community. I'll see you in the mines. Rock and stone!

yes please make a part 2! also try it out, its a very good game. effective teamwork, communication, bringing a good loadout and some thinking ahead is essential to make it through the higher difficulties.
it really shines if you play it together with people you know and trust, but is doable with randoms.

Playing with friends you trust is all well and good, but it’s honestly more fun with friends you don’t trust. I have two friends who just kept infighting. My friend and I went to get the lost pack, and apparently those two didn’t stay in the drop pod so they downed each other and then me and my trustworthy friend got downed. It was embarrassing at the time, but it’s something we look back on and laugh at.

Pitbulls (and dogs as a whole) aren't really inherently aggressive unless they are supposed to be guard dogs.
Pitbulls are actually supposed to essentially be babysitter dogs.
They are really friendly to people they get to know and protective of their family, but if you teach them right they will understand perfectly when someone is a threat or not by the way you act.

The devs of DRG have a lot of fun with the absolutely nightmarish corporate distopia of the setting they created. The player character gets evacuated from the jaws of an alien swarm only after they complete their task. They pay for their own ammo, upgrades, licenses to buy new guns, equipment and beer. Oh, and the Season Pass progression rewards use corporate scrip as payment, to harken back to the early XX century days of corpo mining towns.
But the dwarves are just happy to be there with their bros, digging, drinking and dunking on bugs.

Risk of death and severe injury, but chance of not only a GREAT food source capable of feeding the village for weeks, but also valuable furry hides and strong bones to use as tools. If you can sharpen a wooly rhino's horn, you can shank the hell out of the tigers coming for your food supplies with a really good spear. The hides can protect you all from cold, letting you survive winter nights.

I have over 500 hours in DRG and I don't regret it. Is such an interesting microcosmo in gaming as it has kind of it's own culture. The community alone puts it above as not only I can count the number of douchebags I have met in one hand, but also how common it's this mentality of both goofing off and comradery.
The game also nails this design in which each class pull their weight, even the whole thing about the gunner zip line being slow can be essential in some missions. Is like the game is designed to promote team play without enforcing it.
Also if you do dwell into the game, trust me, that whole word salad will make sense.

I really do love this game and usually play every Friday with my sister, nephew, and sometimes cousin for a full group of 4 in my dad's basement, dad's a little acrophobic so if there is heights in games it bothers him, he plays occasionally. My nephew has developed a little slower, but he's catching up, gets really anxious when time to leave for drop pod, and excited when unlocking new weapons for classes. With the right group it's an amazing CO-OP game where everyone works together, and I know the 'Zip-line' on Gunner is not the best traverse too, but I LOVE the class for the Mini-gun and Shield Generator (he throws down a device that makes makes a bubble to protect everyone.

7:15 a more accurate form of narrative tension would be narrowly avoiding detection at every turn, outrunning the paths enemies will take so you can get back the precious information from behind enemy lines that could help you win the war. Usually it's scouting the enemy lines themselves, not the rear, but still, it's about not getting caught and bringing back valuable data.

While most of the times a scouting role should be performed while avoiding contact as much as possible, in WW2 period at the very least a specialized tactic of recon by fire existed, and was utilized to great effect by pretty much all armies. Essentially, a unit tasked with it was supposed to engage the enemy to a degree necessary to provoke a full scale response and thus get the most up to date and reliable information on enemy capability and placement, that can be used to conduct a soon to follow offensive.

to give some context to the game: Deep Rock Galactic does have other galactic races such as humans. The reason you play as dwarves is because they quite literally have the lowest mortality rate among any other species
For Rock and Stone it's a salute in game that's meant to do positive reinforcement. A dwarf entered the mission? Rock and Stone. Annoyed Management? Rock and Stone. Lost a mission? Gg's, rock and stone.
There is A LOT you'd probably find familiar in deep rock galactic. Every role is satisfying to play on some level, and every role is equally played. Just like as you said in the video you need all these roles in the military to work together or you fail the mission. In Deep Rock Galactic while that's not 100% true, my god does it make it easier to have all roles on a team. And it feels MUCH BETTER too and more satisfying to do

Yes but there's a difference between mounting a rotary cannon on ships and CAS aircraft compared to a personnel carried minigun.😅

I have a couple UA-cam channels I watch that are small-time gold miners. I feel so sorry for them because they're so committed, but they're dumping all their cash into being able to do a little more a little better and they're pulling out the tiniest amount of gold that can, in no way, be paying for all their time and equipment.

Also 90mg? What are we babies? I need, at the very least, a DeathWish, duel C4, two shots of 5 Hour Energy, and a line of nose sugar I got from the nice man in the alley to wake up.

You asked, so yes, if you have some extra time, play DRG. It's pretty, it's fun, it's got great sound design and despite the seemingly repetitive nature, it manages to keep things fresh.
If you like shooting bugs, also consider trying it.
