You should talk about the weird kids show that was released around this time, Ghost Writer. A group of kids who were able to communicate with a ghost through a computer. I don't remember much else about the show except that it was the kids tried to figure out mysteries and enlisted the ghost's help. I also don't remember if it was ever revealed who the ghost was.

It evoked such weird emotions that it formed a strong memory, but I was so convinced it was called Midnight Cafe, whenever it randomly popped in my head I would search for that and disregard everything else. It was also an inverted Married With Children, as the wife was the breadwinner, Jack mostly stuck around at home all day except I think maybe he was also a used car salesman, the son was the dimwitted one instead of the daughter, and of course you have the lovely Nikki Cox who was both smart and beautiful. She was the least dysfunctional one out of all them.

Well, I never saw it but it looked really hokey. That's not necessarily a bad thing though, and it may have been very entertaining and deserving of a longer run. My point is that the hokeyness may have unfortunately turned most people off instantly. While you and a number of others stuck with it long enough to realize it was actually a great show, most people probably changed the channel pretty quickly and never came back to give it another chance. It's very unfortunate that some good shows get cancelled simply because not enough people are watching it for whatever reason.

they tried the Cop and Android concept again in the 2000s with Almost Human. that was actually fun to watch. failed after one season though.
