For a bit of nerd culture. The theme for the tricycle race was called Daichee. This was a Japanese remake of a song called Daisy Bell ( a bicycle built for 2) which was the first song ever to use computerized speech.

I live in Tucson, AZ where it was filmed and U of A campus still has a lot of the locations where it's obvious where things were shot. Very little has changed. Also, Robert Carridine (Louis) decided to see how well he would blend in and sat in on (audited) some of the classes on campus in character.

The movie was inspired by a magazine article with the same title. It describes how the once high school losers/nerds are now leading the 80's high tech boom and becoming wealthy and leaving their former tormentors in the economic dust and now getting the hot chicks. The only thing the movie had in common with the article is the title. The magazine is the long defunct New West.

He was really nice and i talked a bit with him.
