The product is phenomenal and lasts for years even on a vehicle that lives outside in the sun and extreme heat ONLY If you follow the directions and properly prep the surface first. Secondly, make sure you are careful not to allow any streaking when applying with a new applicator sheet. Any streaking will dry with high and low spots or differences in coverage. I’ve used Ceracoat. It was by far the best and lasted the longest. It was a little too expensive for my daily driver. That said, I ll be buying it again for my new truck.

This is excellent and Walmart sells it. I’ve been a detailer for 25 years and prep is so important. Clean with rubbing alcohol first to get all the old products off. Will stay good for years and at least 100 washes.
Do not put on smooth trim! It will start flaking off in about 2 years. It does last well on textured trim. Attention2Detail has a video about it. Throughly cleaning the trim is a must, or you won’t get good results. There is nothing you can do to remove it once it is on, so making sure the trim is clean is essential.

My detailer couldn't get it out after buffing the paint. Anyone who knows how to get that out, I am all ears. Great product, though.
Glad it worked, sorry to hear about the white paint... Hmmm, it does say 200 washes.. I wonder if you use Unisolve to remove off the white? Single stage paint very different than paint with clear coat. I haven't had that experience. I suppose tape off either blue tape to be extra sure it doesn't touch paint. Try very light wet sand then buff with 400 Menzerna (best compound).

Bought a clean 2005 GMC Canyon P/U that had never been shown attention to the solid vinyl bumpers trim. They were a weathered ashen grey and looked terrible. Decided to try Cerakote, keeping the Walmart receipt just in case it didn't live up to all the claims. Followed directions which included a full degrease/rinse/drying of surfaces. Parking in the shade, I began the application properly. It instantly SOAKED in & turned the faded vinyl dark as I spread the application towelette across & around until it finally was used up. Got about half the bumper treated with the one pad's application. The results were nothing less than IMPRESSIVE. It darkened the faded grey back to a dark grey with a nice bit of shine/gloss. Finished the entire bumper with a second new pad & it's been about 2 years without degradation. Not quite as shiney as before, but another treatment in the plans later in year. Easily worth the $$ and proudly show others the results. One "Happy Camper" 😃

@@CruisingTheLand The Cerakote made the trim look like it was literally brand new. Not like you used a product to spruce it up. Many products even if they are low from a gloss perspective still don't look natural. This was impressive!!!
No. Absolulely not! I have used this on Powder coated items (roof rack, bumpers...) and it brings it back to like new! AND will last lomger and stay blacker than having it re-powder coated. 2 weeks? Try over 2 years, then re- apply!! And yoi are suggestinf to paint your black plastic on a car with Black paint?!? NO! You will devalue the vehicle... Even after watching this full video, you learned nothing!
Its not bad but its hard to apply to large surfaces. I did my Honda Element with it last year. Couldn't get the uneven greasy look out. Trick to keeping black black is don't get wax on it. Wax turns white. Don't run your car through an auto car wash with spray wax at the end.
🚨I want someone who can honestly say how long it lasts outside. That truck in the garage doesn’t count. You can wipe Armour All on trim in a garage that will last for 6 months.
Did half the rear kick plate on my LX570. Sits outside 365 days /year. 2 years later, distinct black versus the gray side I didnt do. Thats when I was sold and did this video.
Maybe a few months. The more you wash your car, the more it washes off. I use Turtle Was trim protection and I used it side by side with cerakote and they lasted THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME! But Turtle Wax is MUCH cheaper. Cerakote is good but overrated for daily drivers.
@@CruisingTheLand nope. I always match like for like. I don’t even think the bottle came up as an option because I always go for the better value option
It hurts my eyes to see this as a detailer. You have to prepare and clean the trim before you apply a ceramic trim coating. Use an IPA or IPA based degreaser before you apply cerakote. Also do a whipe down to leave no high spots. You go from trim to rubbers like you didn't planned it. 😂 I use Gyeon Trim btw.
@@CruisingTheLand Negative? For you it maybe seems nice. I see high spots and not a smooth even coating. You forgot even a few spots near the base of the whipers.
you obviously have no clue about this product. yiu daid ceramic? lol.. no. its not like all those crap ceramic trim that use Sio2. This is totally different. i agree that the product you use needs like 4 cleaning and sterilzing steps, and I am sorry for you and those steps and you have to do every 3 monthd. but this one is one step and goid for 2+ years.. then you just wipe again.
This timeline doesn't add up though. If you used it a year and a half ago, why are you just using it on your Civic now? I can't see why you wouldn't do that first thing even if you got it a month ago. Unless this is someone else's car. I'll keep watching

@darlenerothenay6251 Dawn breaks all grease down. Then rubbing alcohol decons anything remaining and dries completely.

Found it on Amazon, cheers bud.
Can u please send me the link for this
It should be in the description.. $16.88 on Amazon for a 10 pack!

What product is it?
link is in description
According to projectfarm, cerakote performed the best.
I’ve tried them all but best results are just to spray with a satin black rattle can.
wow, that's a irreversible move. Try cerakote first!
So, what is the product?
Thanks for sharing, Jamie.
Thanks for sharing. Will try it.
Its not bad but its hard to apply to large surfaces. I did my Honda Element with it last year. Couldn't get the uneven greasy look out.
Trick to keeping black black is don't get wax on it. Wax turns white. Don't run your car through an auto car wash with spray wax at the end.
Try turtle wax graphene tire coating, best ever, suppose to be just for tires.
I will try that
@@CruisingTheLand you’ll love it, lasts forever and dries with no sling.
@@CruisingTheLand works incredible on all the outside plastic trim, I use it all over the trim n my 2023 venza limited
It’s a clear coating. The same coating used when restoring headlamps.
I use black magic or pig spit because they both come in spray cans and is much easier to use
Thanks Jamie
The little wipes that are used to apply it are crap. They need a better application system
they do! The Pro pack. Which is a bottle and sponge wipes.. Alot more of the solution. It's on my link and goes to Amazon for the best pricing.
Thinking same thing. I don’t like the wipe idea. Too easy to drop. I bought a product from turtle wax and it’s outstanding. Comes in a bottle
@@tdz69 They have a 4oz bottle. Thats what I use now, especially for big prpjects.
Let me know when he tell product, you'll soon pass his blog😊
I tried it and lasted few months not impressed
That's odd. I have had it 2 years on a rear kick plate. Still Black.
Totally agree excellent product 👌
Try black shoe polish, it works better than cerakote.
No you shouldn’t because shoe polish is for leather & not plastic 🤥
@@1456941 shoe polish is not just for shoes. I use it on all my black trim. Don’t knock it till you try it.
Stop giving bad advice 😂
@@gmitch239 cerakote is just a clear coating, the same coating you use on headlamps after wet sanding. shoe polish penetrates plastic and vinyl.
Thanks!
I hate DMCA. AC/DC, Back in Black would have been perfect for this video.
Here in th UK it will cost you £43.!!
It's probably a silicone based emulsion
Back to black sucks don't know how it ever got to production
🚨I want someone who can honestly say how long it lasts outside. That truck in the garage doesn’t count.
You can wipe Armour All on trim in a garage that will last for 6 months.
Did half the rear kick plate on my LX570. Sits outside 365 days /year. 2 years later, distinct black versus the gray side I didnt do. Thats when I was sold and did this video.
Armour All is not good on vinyl seating...as it strips off the protective vinyl coating on the seat.
@nielgregory108 You have a video showing this?
Someone has this locked up in Australia… $16USD vs $54 AUD…. And they wonder why they don’t do any good over here…
you are probably looking at the 4oz bottle which is $49 here. Its alot more trim coat than the 10 wipes. www.amazon.com/shop/landcruiser949
@@CruisingTheLand nope. I always match like for like. I don’t even think the bottle came up as an option because I always go for the better value option
WOW!!!!
The worst products to ruin your trim ate silicone based waxes and cleaners. Simoniz makes a good plastic restorer with UV blocker.
I use Gyeon Trim btw.
negative. clean surface and apply. no magic elf ear wax or angel farts needed. Some detailers try to ovsr complicate.
@@CruisingTheLand Negative? For you it maybe seems nice. I see high spots and not a smooth even coating. You forgot even a few spots near the base of the whipers.
@Morpheus02000 High spots? what? are you high?
you obviously have no clue about this product. yiu daid ceramic? lol.. no. its not like all those crap ceramic trim that use Sio2. This is totally different. i agree that the product you use needs like 4 cleaning and sterilzing steps, and I am sorry for you and those steps and you have to do every 3 monthd. but this one is one step and goid for 2+ years.. then you just wipe again.
bro.. dont put it in your eyes...
What is it??

This timeline doesn't add up though. If you used it a year and a half ago, why are you just using it on your Civic now? I can't see why you wouldn't do that first thing even if you got it a month ago. Unless this is someone else's car. I'll keep watching
I used it 2 years ago on my wife's LX570 rear kick plate. Then put it on the Civic. Like Franks red hot sauce, I put that sh-- on everything!
It's been out for awhile now.. Nothing New
not new to you, but nee to many that didn't know about it..
Use ceramic on it, same result
What ceramic? They are not all created equal
