    Nice review! I totally agree with your assessment of the Gnarly. I didn't love it on older bikes because it kills the top end. However, I installed one on my 23 TC 250 that I only ride mountain single track with. Works great! Nice improvement on the bottom and surprisingly, no loss on the top at all. Ran it on the dyno and there is actually very slight overrev/top end power improvement.

    i had a gnarlly on my YZ250 and didn't like it, lost way too much top end, the bike always felt like it was revving out past 1/2 throttle. since my stock was crushed i went to the fatty and like it better, especially with the rekluse

    Tristan Hart, Billy Bolt and Many all use Factory Fatty pipes on the new TBI's - that's super hard enduro.

    • @slaverace1
      @slaverace1  11 місяців тому +9

      Hello:
      That information is somewhat useless because no one, other than the factory team, knows if those are special one-off pipes or what other engine mods their engines have and how those pipes may compliment those mods.

      @@slaverace1 10-4 Jeff, I'm going off of the fact that the Fatty comes in the factory finish, which that's what those guys run, (factory finish) not the typical Gnarly shine finish. Also, if you look at their pipes, they have the exact same bends and clearance within the different areas on the bike as with a Fatty (when looking very closely in new vids shot under the factory tent). Anyway, Thanks for enlightening me.

      To be honest... I don't know what pipe they use. Not like we are gonna ride like them for using one pipe or another 😂
      In any case, the one they use is much more similar to the stock pipe than any other. By far. 😂😂😂
      Actually, I believe the most progressive and linear pipe has to be the best. It's not about having more power here and there, it's about loading your engine and releasing the power you need using your clutch.
      Easier sed than done. 😂😂😂

    My stock 24 seems much better than stock 21 but not like my Slavens Mule Tune on my 21 or my 19. Not a lot of time on the bike since its a crisp 107 here in Texas. Will need some moisture to tell. Transferred my WP Pro forks off the 21 to the 24 and had to purchase a new shock as the 21 doesn't fit the 24. (cool thing it fits on the 2022 500) New WP Pro shock is stiff as its new. Put a FMF Gnarly on and tried to set the bike up exactly as 21. Feels close. Dont like the squared off seat as I like to move around a lot and no ribs and the bars seem wider even though I cut 3/4 off each end. 13/45 seems weird. I just sold my 21 and I cried as it was Incredible. I trust Jeff and Alec to get me where I need to be. Next Rain and I'm on it!

    They should make an adjustable pipe at the head where you can thread in or out the header portion of pipe to lengthen and shorten the pipe length to alter power. Wouldn't be to hard to do.

    great content, I am considering selling my 18 xc300 and replacing it with a 24 xcw300.i watch most if not all of your videos. I am a huge fan of the 2strokes period. Not sure if this is the place to ask or mention this, We all seen the ALTA E-BIKE and I'm sure it had a bunch of buzz back when it was released. On my UA-cam feeds all I am seeing is the Stark Varg videos coming out. You have any thoughts or comments? I cant see how it would be good on single track with out the ability to pop the clutch when need a burst of power? Or maybe its all the power you ever would need and if so then it would be in a class of its own?

    I’m on a 21’ tx300i considering the gnarly just because of the 18ga thickness. Better durability possibly

    • @slaverace1
      @slaverace1  5 місяців тому

      Hello:
      Personally I would not pick any brand of pipe because of the material thickness because they all dent easily. I recommend you choose the pipe with the performance profile you need. Example: Gnarlys add more low-end and mid-range power but are flat on top. Fattys mirror the stock powerband and add a little more everywhere.

    Hey Jeff - so I live out west and ride mountains, both hard enduro / slow technical and big hill climbs where the bike is completely wound out. Just picked up a 24 TE 300 and am trying to decide if either the Gnarly or Fatty would be any benefit whatsoever. Thoughts?

    • @slaverace1
      @slaverace1  9 місяців тому +1

      Hello JC:
      Sounds like you need/want that elusive transformer pipe not yet made by FMF. The Gnarly will give you a boost to bottom-end performance but is a little soft on top. The Fatty is an all-around pipe that has a little more top-end but not a lot more. 300s have a square bore and stroke which doesn’t allow it to rev hard on top.

      @@slaverace1 thanks Jeff! I kinda figured that would be the answer. How many rpm over overrev would the fatty get a fella - maybe 500 rpm?

    • @slaverace1
      @slaverace1  Місяць тому +1

      Hello Mike:
      A pipe will do little to "tame" your TX. We make them more user friendly with a flywheel weight slavensracing.com/shop/flywheel-weight-for-ktm-husaberg-husqvarna-250300-by-steahly/ and by improving the timing and fueling with a TSP ERM. slavensracing.com/shop/ecu-reflash-module-erm-by-two-stroke-performance/ That combination will totally transform your bike and will make you happy.
