Omg I know how you feel. I just finished and I couldn’t believe that Matthew has feelings for Cordelia while she is in love with James (and even though he doesn’t know it right now, James is clearly in love with Cordelia too)
A Clockwork Reader So Matthew does have feelings for Cordelia ? I sensed something was going on but couldn’t work out quite what it was !! It’s driving me insane ! I wish James would stop being thick and realise Cordelia loves him 😭

I think literally no one is into the Matthew/Cordelia/James situation but I'm hoping that CC will make it better somehow. I don't want Matthew to be hurt, he's so sad already
I’ve heard that there’s supposed to be a male love interest? I don’t know if it’s a reliable source but it was a comment on an Instagram post about Matthew.
Maddie O'Donnell I’ve also seen from cassies tumblr, someone asked if Matthew had a love interest and Cassie responded with: yes, in fact he might have several
here’s my theory: matthew had a cute crush on lucie(which i ship them so much) before he KISSED GRACE. so i think she worked her little siren black magic and made him fall in love with cordelia to get in the way of jordelia
"The Herondales will never- never stop, they won't never leave me live, they will never stop hurting me" that's actually pretty accurate :( i love them so much
"It would be one thing if James loved her. I would go into the quiet dark like Jem did and never speak of her again. But he doesn't love her" - this broke my heart
@@ellierichardson1616 IKKKK I JUST FINISHED THIS DAMN BOOK AND OML I JUST WANT HIM TO BE W CORDELIA LIKE CORDELIA THINKS HE DOESNT LOVE HER AND HE THINKS HE LOVES THAT GRACE GIRL AND AHHH
ANNA LIGHTWOOD IS A GOD AND I WOULD PROTECT HER WITH MY LIFE I always feel like she doesn’t get the love she deserves even though I’m sure she does but SHE DESERVES THE WORLD and I really really hope she gets her happy ending
Exactly!!!! I haven't loved a character as much since Magnus first appeared. I seriously can't wait to see what happens between her and Ariadne in the next book. It's the primary reason I want my hands on it right NOW. Honestly every potential ship makes me sooo happy in this book!!!!
My heart broke for every pain hurled at the characters from TID because I love those characters so much. When Tessa says to Will, something along the lines like: "Even when you are eighty, you'll be handsome to me." My heart shattered.
I feel like cassie watches all of these reviews and whenever someone talks about a theory they have or something that they don’t want to happen she just goes “oh I’ll write that down” AND SHE PUTS IT IN THE NEXT BOOK
Cassie once said that she doesn't watch reviews - I think it was during a book tour - and she actually has very detailed outlines for her books before she starts writing them. Some outlines are actually as long as some other authors' books so there's no room to add fan theories.
Bruh, same. I mean, it takes a LOT to freak out Magnus, and when he first met Grace, he was HELLA disturbed, which made my warning radar go wild. I do not like Grace, she's creepy AF, and now, with everything that went down....
I just finished reading chain of gold i am absolutely destroyed shattered to pieces. Also i cannot believe Alastair pulled a draco malfoy on me i want him to be happy in love.
I feel like Matthew is such an underrated character in the series, and he’s one of my favorites😬 same with Alastair. Honestly all of the characters are my favorites, and I think the Last Hours are going to be my favorite from the Shadowhunting world. Such an emotion rollercoaster
Yes Matthew is so precious. It’s sooo sad he is dealing with alcoholism and I hope he can get help but when he is so witty and when he shows his true self I just melt. He is so sweet
@@adevetyskova Same!!! But my tiny brain can't understand how Cassandra will make Thomas not hate Alastair. I hope the redemption arc isn't super painful :/
the flavor that ship has 👌🏽 they were my favorite couple in the whole book! but i am so worried about their later lives, since in the family tree from clockwork princess it says they die really young, both of them? like in their 30's and 40's 😳 i hope this is just another trick from cc because i love them both so much
When Jesse gave up his last breath I cried 💔. Alastair is one of the most underrated character also thomas! He deserved more recognition. I really want to slap grace into the next realm
SPOILER: When I was reading and the part about Matthew being a murderer came up, I totally spaced that he killed his sibling in the womb, it was mentioned in Ghosts from Shadow Market I think
Yes, that's the one he was guilty about. But also, we realise later on, in The Land I Lost, that the faerie who gave the potion intended so too. Poor Matthew. :'(
Love how she goes 'dude' on the phone and her friend is like 'i know'. That os like every book reader talking to someone who is reading a book they've already read and a plot twist comes. Like honey you don't need to explain, i know exactly what you're feeling.
57:02 alsoo Cassie said that the finale of the trilogy is gonna be even sadder than in clockwork princess and I don't even think that's possible bc the epilogue had me SOBBING and I'm still not over it.
“Even when you are 80 you will be my beautiful Will” only for him to die at 73 is actually my villain origin story. Honest to god that line made me cry myself to sleep. Twice. TWICE
Look at it from the bright side, he had all the people he loved alongside him all the way to his death. He was never alone in the end and probably a lot happier after marrying Tessa. 🥰
@@ccaiitliin thats such a lovely bright side yes, but we will save that for my redemption arc bc i am still going full villain mode. not just bc of that but also bc jem has to navigate a world without will, when they thought it would be the opposite and now jem must deal with the eternal grief of wondering how to live in the world without a piece of his soul like mmmmh naur. I am still feeling the villainy villain mood
When it comes to Matthew, I don’t think his feelings for Cordelia are genuine since James and Lucie have discussed Math having feelings for Lucie for yeears. I think he just attaches himself to whomever makes him feel less guilty (?) or distracts him from his awful mistake (his secret). Anyway, can we talk about how Thomas is basically the same as his namesake? Sweet, mild tempered and stuck in unrequited love! I love him and wanna protect him ❤️
I think the same with Matthew! I came into this video thinking that Matthew was just concerned for Cordelia in a more brotherly way ? I really don't think Cassie would go down the same route as she did for Jem, Will and Tessa because it just wouldn't be the most satisfying read as she's already done it before. And you CANNOT top what Jem and Will and Tess had. So I'm pretty sure that Matthew just doesn't want anyone that he's close to to hurt as bad as he's hurting and that's why he's so concerned for Cordelia's feelings Edit: Ah but I just re read his scene with Magnus at the end and he compares himself to Jem... it's all very confusing. But perhaps he means it like Jem let them be happy and supported and loved them regardless of his feelings ? And Matthew's feelings may not be romantic ?
@@jessicagolden1631 Very true! Plus, I had thought that Matthew did like Lucie (its implied in Cast Long Shadows and James seems to think so in CoG) but he doesn't feel himself deserving of her love because of what happened. Plus she only sees him as a brother ? I'd love to see them together though!
Well, 3/4 in the book it says that the relationship between Matthew and Lucie was better than before and I think around that time he realized he no longer has a crush on Lucie. I loved Math from the beginning and shipped Cordelia and James but when Math told Magnus he had feelings for cordelia I was like “I HATE IT HERE” my poor baby 🥺
I was so prepared to not like Alastair. My feelings took a complete turn by the end. I freaked out when they kissed. It was soooooo like Will and Tessa. I am rooting for Matthew but I also love James and Cordelia. So confused!!!!!!
Well... William then humiliated Tatiana in front of everyone, after he found her diary with her named changedto his, so that's the real crux of why o'l Gab hated Will's guts.
to understand matthews backstory and what is meant by “murder” in one of the chapters and the reason for his behaviour u should def read Cast Long Shadows. it’s the second story in the Ghosts of the Shadow Market and it explains sooo much. (Also his resentment towards alastair)
I was also confused about Sona (Cordelia's mom) being pregnant, but it actually makes a bit of sense because we need someone to carry the Carstairs name and bloodline down to Emma. Codelia can't do that because she's (allegedly) becoming a Herondale. And Alistair is gay and I don't think gay couples adopted children in those times. So the third sibling is probably the one Emma is an descendant of.
I just finished the third book and there is, in fact, an explanation there for the messed up family tree. A lot of people seem to hate the said explanation but I think it’s funny.
I finished the book in two days, I have been waiting years for this trilogy to finally come out, and I was dying to watch all the reviews here on booktube but especially yours because I know that TID is very important to you. I'm so excited to relive everything with you 💛 Update: I finished the video and seeing you getting emotional over feeling so connect to Cordelia because of your Persian heritage made me cry, you're so precious
33:00 Cassie actually mentioned that a new love triangle in CoI will appear featuring two girls and one guy. Also, a new character will being introduced in the next book. She’s from one of the institutes in Italy and she’s here on her travel year. Matthews also set for a love interest too. Just saying. 😉
I don't think I've ever anticipated a book as much as Chain of Gold, except for the last few Harry Potter books. I can't believe it's out, and I can't believe I've read it! I feel bad for Grace, she's isolated, grief-stricken, abused and alone, I don't blame her actions because she's desperate. Also, as the book is loosely based on Great Expectations, then she's Estella. Estella is trapped and lonely too and is used by Miss Havisham. I think you need to read Great Expectations because there's a lot of imagery used from Great Expectations in Chain of Gold. Like all the clocks being stopped and Tatiana's house being covered in dust and cobwebs and stuff. Estella isn't evil in Great Expectations, so I feel like Grace is going to be redeemed or rescued or something. She reminds me of Jessamine a little bit, and I love Jessamine. I kind of love Cassie's supposedly terrible characters, and Grace is one of them. I'm so glad you got your ethnicity represented! All the moments when Cordelia's heritage was mentioned I was thinking "I wonder if Hannah has heard of this? I bet this means so much to Hannah" so I'm so glad you got to see that represented. The only Irish rep we get is Bridget and the Burren lol. Omg I totally forgot Cordelia's mum said she was pregnant. What if the baby isn't on the family tree because it's not a Carstairs? What if she cheated on Elias with someone else? I mean you'd think it would still be under her name, but maybe not? Scandal! Did you read the Ghosts of the Shadow Market? I sobbed through the whole thing, but the two stories most important before reading ChoG are Cast Long Shadows and Every Exquisite Thing, but every story is unbearably painful. Like if you think the mentions of Will/Jem/Tessa was heartbreaking in ChoG, just wait until the short stories follow Jem as a sad Silent Brother, oh my god, I WEPT. I can't believe James and Cordelia are getting married so early, I can't believe Cassie is going to bless us with a fake (agonising) marriage. Like there's going to be the "only one bed" trope, he's going to slowly realise that they're in love. Maybe their love will actually overpower Grace's bracelet gahhhh. It's going to be SO GOOD and SO HEARTBREAKING and all the things Cassie loves putting us through. I think I'm more invested in Jesse/Lucie. I know they're going to completely break me. I kind of wonder if Matthew will have a little fling with Magnus. Cassie said that there will be a romance including Magnus in Chain of Iron and I wonder if it'll be with Matthew. I don't think Cassie is going to go down the Matthew/Cordelia/James route because nothing will ever beat Herongraystairs and surely Cassie knows that. Cassie did say that this trilogy would be even more heartbreaking than TID and I legitimately can't see how that can be possible. I'm sorry this comment is so long, but I have emotions, and I know you do too!
Love everything in this comment ! I cannot wait for all the tension during the fake marriage thing ! Also I don’t know if Mathew will be Magnus’s love interest because I think Magnus has told Alex “but you are my first shadowhunter” when they were talking about firsts in a previous book, but who knows.
I agree with you so much on so many of your points, especially about grace as I find her to be such an interesting character and I also love any sort of anti hero like character, often more than the completely morally good ones. Also completely agree with you on Lucie/Jesse. I love both their characters so much already. Lucie’s was probably my favourite POV throughout the book as I think she is quite different to a lot of the previous female characters we’ve encountered in Cassie’s books
I totally understand your emotional reaction to having representation in a book by Cassie. As a kid in America of Indian descent, I appreciate the character of Ariadne a lot. Although she isn't a main character by any means, she has dark brown skin, and she's gorgeous, and I think (I hope) she might have a bigger role in the next one.
Niyati Shah It’s a Greek name, I think the Bridgestock’s probably gave her that name when they adopted her :) Also, my name’s Niyati too and I literally never see anyone with our name lol, so hi!!
THE BRACELET!!! I’ve watched so many reviews and no one has mentioned that! I suspected form the moment she had him get it for her! Ahhhhhhhhhghhhhh! I seriously can’t take it. I’ll die before next year. I’ll die.
Wow, you are such a beautiful soul. Your voice is a dream. I truly loved the part where you describe how if you were younger and got to read about a Persian character, how amazing it would have been for you, to have felt seen and understood at such a young age. If authors want to know why representation matters in books. They should watch the sheer joy you show when you read about Persian food and terms of endearment. Sorry if this is badly written, English is not my first language. X
I am so glad to hear someone else's experiences/emotions/angst about this book! No one around me reads them or understands why I feel this way about a book! Thank you! I read it all in a day and went through the same emotional rollercoaster. PS. Cast Long Shadows in Ghosts of the Shadow Market will better explain Matthew's past (murder)
Okay my thoughts on Chain of Gold: 1)Lucie is SO underrated smh she’s one of my fav characters 2) Cordelia is a queen and i love her 3) I can’t believe nobody notices how much Matthew is hurting?? 4) I hate Cordelia and James’s marriage agreement but hopefully they actually fall in love by the end 5) I hate Grace and her stupid bracelet with everything in my being 6) I’m excited to see how the love triangle with James, Cordelia, and Matthew 7) I’m also excited to see how Lucie’s “powers” progress now that we know her and Jamie both have powers!! ALSO chain of iron cover is being released next Wednesday im so pumped omg
I remember hyping over James smelling or cedar wood like it is my favorite scent as I was reading it at school and my friend realised me silently fangirling which looks like me spazing out but she looked at me and asked what happened and I was like 'he smells of cedar wood, my heart is complete' while she just shook her head laughing. I love how in Cassandra Clare books it's definitely the little things you notice that count
My heart is filled with blissful memories when I watch your videos. You remind me of the quote "happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one remembers to turn on the light" love, ~fierce soul~
SCREAM i watched this whole thing and you just articulated all of my thoughts so perfectly!!! this book was KILLER and i tentatively have it placed as my fav cassandra clare book of all time😱😭😍
I have literally been waiting for this review for my entire life. To see how representation means to others is beautiful and I am thrilled that you had that experience. You deserve it🧡
I LOOOOOOOOVED this book. I actually can't believe how good it was! Cant wait for the next one. CANT wait to see how this marriage plays out. BY THE ANGEL!!!!!
28:48 This is why good representation matters!! You look so happy over just a simple mention of your culture and it’s so heart warming to watch. Also I kind of understand what you mean about being able to see a part of yourself that you hide in literature and being proud of that. The first time I saw a non-binary character in a novel I legit cried for about five minutes because I was so happy to finally feel like I wasn’t alone anymore and that it was okay to be who I am. Even now good representation like that just warms my heart. It’s always a good thing to feel like you’re being seen, seeing yourself on a personal level with another character and relating to them is the best thing in the world.
I haven't finished the book yet but I remember Cassie saying a while ago that it was partially inspired by Great Expectations and the love interest from that book, Estella, being kind of groomed by her mother to make men miserable or ruin Pip's (the main character) life or something along those lines, I haven't read great expectations but that was in my mind from the beginning about Tatianna and Grace. I'm excited to finish and see what else goes on and then of course be able to finish watching this vlog lol
I finished chain of gold yesterday and I was waiting for this video because I needed someone else to feel all the feels. I spent the whole day reading any short stories about these characters and rereading scenes from the book, just torturing myself. I loved watching this and I’m also destroyed. Also if you haven’t read the short stories that include the characters from COG in tales from the shadow hunter academy and ghost of the shadow market specially the one about Matthew and the one about Anna because they do explain a lot.
Representation of your home language and culture is just something else and it gets me EVERY time! I’m really happy for you! I remember how giddy I was while watching a Chinese Drama about someone high couisin and the main character for some reason had to visit Budapest. I remember constantly commenting on every little detail because I was so excited to share those details with everyone else watching. Little shops selling table cloths with hungarian embroidery, actors that are actually native hungarian speakers presenting authentic hungarian dishes and so on.
Hot Take: Grace uses the kiss as leverage to break James's relationship with the Merry Thieves and get him on her side cause ya can't resist possession without real relationships
But seriously, everytime it mentions in the book about Cordelia being Persian or anything Persian related, my mind just automatically projects Hannah. I just love Hannah.
Lucie is the most underrated character. She saves everyone like 5 times throughout the book and she never gets the credit for it. Also, she is the only one that checks up on Matthew, and she cares for Cordelia far more than Cordelia cares for her. And how does no one find out about Jesse or Lucie's power the entire time. Like clearly, they aren't paying attention to her.
It made me feel so sad when you said you felt embarrassed to have friends come over and eat Prussian food! I'm so sorry you ever felt that way ❤️ I loved having friends from different ethnicities than myself because I love trying and falling in love with different foods and flavours! You're making me want to try Prussian food now!
OKAY!!!! Right after Grace put the bracelet on James the first time, he IMMEDIATELY NOTICED “how pretty her eyes were” or some crap and I KNEW that bracelet was the ONLY REASON JAMES LOVED GRACE!!!!! THE ANGER I AM CONSTANTLY FEELING FROM THIS OMG UGHHHHHHH
Okay but I’m afghan and like when I found out the Cordelia was half Persian and that Chain of Gold was a continuation of TID I cried...in the bookstore... I don’t have the book yet unfortunately, but I will cry harder when I actually buy it
Im Afghan too and all of the little bits of farsi throughout the book made me filled with joy!!!! I love Cordelia and her being persian makes me feel so represented snd amazing!!!

JESSE IS MY FAVOURITE THANK YOUUU
@@kianihutton5129 Nothing's his fault! He deserves it all!!!
I love Alastair, Jesse and Anna!!!
I love Alastair but I want him to be a better person
I am just going to comment Alastair Carstairs everywhere to put this point across lmao
@WOODSoftheBOOKS I'm completely in love with her since Every Exquisite Thing of Ghosts Of The Shadow Market! She's the GODDESS OF THEM ALL!!!
She is lgbtq representation personified
Yesss she got a lot more attention in COI 🥰
My heart broke for every pain hurled at the characters from TID because I love those characters so much.
When Tessa says to Will, something along the lines like:
"Even when you are eighty, you'll be handsome to me."
My heart shattered.
my heart broke into pieces when i remembered he died before completing 80 years old 😭🥺💔
The fact that he dies at 76 😭😭
I was holding back tears ambit I couldn’t ty bc I was in publicccc
😭😭
I feel like cassie watches all of these reviews and whenever someone talks about a theory they have or something that they don’t want to happen she just goes “oh I’ll write that down” AND SHE PUTS IT IN THE NEXT BOOK
sooooo tru,
yes, but that's a double edged sword, as I think that's what ruined QOAD making it not as good as espected
Cassie once said that she doesn't watch reviews - I think it was during a book tour - and she actually has very detailed outlines for her books before she starts writing them. Some outlines are actually as long as some other authors' books so there's no room to add fan theories.
Maria Ximena Otalora Cordoba Idk bro I think QOAD was great lol
@@austinm8334 it’s was kind of like a layout for twp for me, cos there was the huge cohort problem at the end of the book
Ive just realized something...
Grace + james= games
Coz they be playing games ....hehe ....ok
grace is at least
I just laughed out loud at that comment!
🤭
Hahah I really felt “if Magnus doesn’t trust someone I don’t trust someone”
“Alistair pulled a Draco Malloy.” That is the best description of Alistair I’ve ever heard.
@@andreacarroll4031 ikr but its like- so accurate. . . .
Also yes, I want my cinnamon roll wrapped up with my other cinnamon roll (thomas)
i really didn’t like Alastair at first but i feel that he’s actually remorseful for how he acted at the academy and i just want him to be happy 😭😭
if you wanna know about the matthew situation and anna’s background 10/10 read ghosts from the shadow market
sassiqueen yes! Ghost of the shadow market is the best novella in my opinion and gives so many will/jem/Tessa feels !
Specifically: Cast Long Shadows and Every Exquisite Thing. 👌🏼
also one story fom tales from the shadowhunter academy for more on our fav merry thieves!! I can't remember which one precisely
@@NN-su4tk I believe you may be thinking of "Nothing but Shadows"

I DO NOT UNDERSTAND
oh i sang that many times while i was reading this lolllll
SOMETHING IS REALLY
SOMETHINGS NOT RIGHT

I don't even care about the Shadowhunters but 1 hour of Hannah? I'm going to watch from beginning to end. ^^

ALSO IF CASSIE DOES NOT LET MY MATTHEW BE HAPPY IN CHAIN OF IRON I WILL ACTUALLY ATTACK CUZ LIKE WE LOVE MATTHEW
Yesssss he deserves it
YES THIS IS TRUE
Mathew isn't in a family tree I don't think ... what the hell happens to him 😰
@@birb3326 I wouldn't stress over that. I hear it lies. A lot.
I don't read Cassandra Clare, I don't know these characters, but through this entire video I was stressed and also on the edge of my seat😂
Girl SAME! WHAT 😂 I loved this!
Same here😂
Jerrica L Pierce It’s probably best book yet.
Please, tell me I'm not the only one who ships Alastair and Thomas like crazy? That scene in Paris was just 😍😍😍👌
Honey, you're not. I die if they don't end up together
@@adevetyskova Same!!! But my tiny brain can't understand how Cassandra will make Thomas not hate Alastair. I hope the redemption arc isn't super painful :/
the flavor that ship has 👌🏽 they were my favorite couple in the whole book! but i am so worried about their later lives, since in the family tree from clockwork princess it says they die really young, both of them? like in their 30's and 40's 😳 i hope this is just another trick from cc because i love them both so much
I love them so muchh😭😭😍😍
i love them together SO SO muchhh
"I didn't ask for this pain"
That's an entire mood any reader can relate too.
When James said “Daisy, my Daisy” I CRIED BECAUSE NO GUY WILL EVER “MIA MY MIA” TO ME CUZ IT SOUNDS BLOODY RIDICULOUS AND IM GONNA DIE ALONE
😂😭😂😭
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😚😚😚
NAUR CAUSE SAME😭
" I hate, I hate, I hate it , ooh I hate it" Literally me with grace.
When Jesse gave up his last breath I cried 💔. Alastair is one of the most underrated character also thomas! He deserved more recognition. I really want to slap grace into the next realm
Yeah, at that point Jesse was my only motivation to continue the series so when that happened I was so upset
“The herondales are always in denial haha”
*then proceeds to deny everything that happens in the book*
Cassandra Clare: the last hours ending is going to be sadder than clockwork princess Me: oh. oh no
One thing that I loved was the fact that Will and Tessa named James after Jem. When I made that connection it just melted my heart.
IM SCARED
Ikrrrr
So I'm pretty sure that Matthew just doesn't want anyone that he's close to to hurt as bad as he's hurting and that's why he's so concerned for Cordelia's feelings
Edit: Ah but I just re read his scene with Magnus at the end and he compares himself to Jem... it's all very confusing. But perhaps he means it like Jem let them be happy and supported and loved them regardless of his feelings ? And Matthew's feelings may not be romantic ?
Veronica Lopez I ship Matthew with lucie tbh I feel like him liking cordelia wasn’t believable
Totes agree about Matthew! Don't think the Cordelia thing is going to stick for very long.
Not gonna lie, while I was reading Chain of Gold, I just fan-cast Hannah as Cordelia
I was so prepared to not like Alastair. My feelings took a complete turn by the end.
I freaked out when they kissed. It was soooooo like Will and Tessa. I am rooting for Matthew but I also love James and Cordelia. So confused!!!!!!
For some reason, I really don’t like Matthew he just annoys me.
Can we all just appreciate how Tatiana used to have a crush on will and thats why gabriel didn't like will ?
😵😭😂
We’ve come so far from then
Well... William then humiliated Tatiana in front of everyone, after he found her diary with her named changedto his, so that's the real crux of why o'l Gab hated Will's guts.
And now..she wants to murder him. We did really come so far from then.
@@cussundriakneal9904 ya but he was trying to protect tatiana
Matthew Fairchild is my favorite character ever and I want him happy
I AM IN LOVE WITH HIM
to understand matthews backstory and what is meant by “murder” in one of the chapters and the reason for his behaviour u should def read Cast Long Shadows. it’s the second story in the Ghosts of the Shadow Market and it explains sooo much. (Also his resentment towards alastair)
jokergirl i realized that after i finished the book and went back and read it!
A Clockwork Reader what did u think of it? i think it (sadly) shaped him. i also think it’s the reason why he likes to drink so much
jokergirl i agree!
Also timestamp 26:00 - 29:33 is the reason we need more representation in books. I almost started crying at seeing and experiencing your reaction.
Seeing you so incredibly happy about Cordelia bein Persian is everything 💜
I'm just happy that you got to read this book that is so close to your heart after that reading slump you have had for quite some time now❤❤❤❤
Hannah reading “THE scene” is literally me reading dramatic parts of any book lmfao 🤣
(Also, obviously I want Alistair to be happy and have children, preferably with Thomas.)
My theory is that Sona dies in child birth or during the course of the series, and so Alistair (and Thomas) raise the kid together.
Matthew, Thomas , Alastair & Jesse my babies🥺🥺. And queen’s Cordelia and lucie we have to Stan
Imagine if Cassie just faked the family tree to mislead us 😨
She did, in fact
I remember seeing one of her tumblr posts saying that family trees are full of lies and that they can mislead people so it is indeed true
Barbara's death is definitely false
I think she said the family tree is irrelevant
I just finished the third book and there is, in fact, an explanation there for the messed up family tree. A lot of people seem to hate the said explanation but I think it’s funny.
[sits down to watch an hour-long video of a book that she doesn't know from an author she doesn't like just for the sake of the hannah content]
DARK ACADEMIA CAFÉ hey, i love you 💛
Same
I finished the book in two days, I have been waiting years for this trilogy to finally come out, and I was dying to watch all the reviews here on booktube but especially yours because I know that TID is very important to you. I'm so excited to relive everything with you 💛
Update: I finished the video and seeing you getting emotional over feeling so connect to Cordelia because of your Persian heritage made me cry, you're so precious
Oh my God the minute the notification popped my reaction was like -"stars in my eyes" 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 love you Hannah
Anushka Pal love you!! 💛💛
@@AClockworkReader best day of my life , getting a screenshot of this , I am having a fan girl moment 😂🤩
The scene between Alastair and Charles where Alastair basically says that he is done with Charles was SO POWERFUL and i guess i stan Alastair now
33:00 Cassie actually mentioned that a new love triangle in CoI will appear featuring two girls and one guy. Also, a new character will being introduced in the next book. She’s from one of the institutes in Italy and she’s here on her travel year. Matthews also set for a love interest too. Just saying. 😉
Yep
'the way I need cordelia to get cortana and cut this bracelet... please just do it'
LOUDER PLSSSSSS
YES PLEASE!
@@jeseniacontreras8377 Oh I'd forgotten that! Must be someone else then 👀
I agree with you so much on so many of your points, especially about grace as I find her to be such an interesting character and I also love any sort of anti hero like character, often more than the completely morally good ones. Also completely agree with you on Lucie/Jesse. I love both their characters so much already. Lucie’s was probably my favourite POV throughout the book as I think she is quite different to a lot of the previous female characters we’ve encountered in Cassie’s books
Natalie C. Ahhhhhh I felt all of that 😭 this book made me feel so many things and so many theories are buzzing through my head
@@zoekerbey3708 Ahh I know right! I want to reread everything now to find all the connections 😂😭
I totally understand your emotional reaction to having representation in a book by Cassie. As a kid in America of Indian descent, I appreciate the character of Ariadne a lot. Although she isn't a main character by any means, she has dark brown skin, and she's gorgeous, and I think (I hope) she might have a bigger role in the next one.
hello but YES!! I really want to know what her name was in India? Because I don't really think Ariadne is an Indian name.
LUCIE AND MATTHEW SHOULD’VE ENDED UP TOGETHER 🥺🥺🥺
Lucie and Jesse are superior!
YESSSS
I totally wanted a love triangle between Lucie Matthew and Jesse and was so confused when Matthew started liking Cordelia.
watching this vlog is like reading the book for a second time because we've had the exact same reactions, i love this
I am so glad to hear someone else's experiences/emotions/angst about this book! No one around me reads them or understands why I feel this way about a book! Thank you! I read it all in a day and went through the same emotional rollercoaster. PS. Cast Long Shadows in Ghosts of the Shadow Market will better explain Matthew's past (murder)
her crying because of will, jem and tessa in the first 40 pages is so me
Okay my thoughts on Chain of Gold: 1)Lucie is SO underrated smh she’s one of my fav characters 2) Cordelia is a queen and i love her 3) I can’t believe nobody notices how much Matthew is hurting?? 4) I hate Cordelia and James’s marriage agreement but hopefully they actually fall in love by the end 5) I hate Grace and her stupid bracelet with everything in my being 6) I’m excited to see how the love triangle with James, Cordelia, and Matthew 7) I’m also excited to see how Lucie’s “powers” progress now that we know her and Jamie both have powers!! ALSO chain of iron cover is being released next Wednesday im so pumped omg
I fckin love you 😂 Appreciate your ability to be super candid and raw on camera 💛
Essays With S.K thank you 🥺
I remember hyping over James smelling or cedar wood like it is my favorite scent as I was reading it at school and my friend realised me silently fangirling which looks like me spazing out but she looked at me and asked what happened and I was like 'he smells of cedar wood, my heart is complete' while she just shook her head laughing. I love how in Cassandra Clare books it's definitely the little things you notice that count
Here, we have everthing i love. Even a Panic at the disco hoodie
My heart broke for Alastair in the end.
According to the tree, Grace marries her cousin Christopher Lightwood and even though they aren’t biologically related I’m kind of shooketh.
Sai Atluri Same though.
Cassie said to not trust that tree so 🤔🤔
I’m more pressed that my boy Christopher is gonna end up with a manipulative asshat 😔🙏

You deserve it🧡
I just finished this book like 5 minutes ago and immediately started this video. I just felt every single emotion and heartbreak again 😭🤧
YES AN HOUR OF HANNAH RANTING ABT THIS YESS I NEED THIS TO BE ON A LOOP
‘ITIS THE MOST CONFUSING FAMILY TREE ‘ omg yes Hannah
When Mathew saw James and Cordelia. I was like sis Cassandra you're not pulling another hem Tessa and will. My heart still hasn't recovered 😑😭
Ok this reading vlog is everything except for one thing:
ITS ARIADNE NOT ADRIENNE
I loved the way you got emotional when they mentioned Persian food and everything! This shows how representation is so important
Sahara Desert omg yay now I can’t wait to read it!!
she is so precious, sad books don't deserve her
