- The F-86A-5 is the first and lowest BR Sabre that is currently in War Thunder. This plane still boasts good performance, a decent armament, and good flying characteristics that make it more than a match for many planes that it fights.

Small nitpick, Soviet piloted MiG-15s had a roughly equal kill ratio against US Sabres, something like 1.2:1 for the US.
Even smaller nitpick, it was something around 1.8:1 overall (through out the entire Korean war, against ever enemy plane) but against the Soviet mig 15 pilots it was around 1.3:1 😁
Much respect for those Soviet pilots. Must've been a real shocker to those US pilots when they see a Mig move in a way completely differently than they've seen a hundred times before.
@@neoxis4460 It is very hard to know for sure because the often quoted MiG-15 combat losses in Korea (333 MiG-15's for the Soviets, around 260 for the Chinese and an estimate of 50 to 100 from North Korea) are actually losses to all operational causes and because the official USAF F-86 losses attributed to air combat are quite frankly bogus as hell when one realizes that almost 20 F-86 and their pilots went missing, that the total losses don't include planes that were written off after being too damaged to be repaired and that multiple losses atributed to operational causes or AA matched surprissingly well with claims made by Soviet and Chinese pilots.
In a roundabout way I'm saying we don't know exactly how the kill ratio goes, but we can be confident that both UN and Communist Block pilots overclaimed, a lot.
@@miquelescribanoivars5049I’m willing to bet the ratio is pretty close to 1 to 1 bc the aircraft were evenly matched for the most part

8.3 is the only BR of Air RB I can stand at the moment, and it's solely because of the F-86A-5. I miss the F-86F-25 before the Su-25k spam.
It's playable again bc su25 is 10.0. unfortunately playable still doesn't mean fun.

For me the repair costs kill this plane, but it’s still great to fly
I think the teams ruin it for me, my whole team dies within 5 minutes of the game starting in 60% of the games i play in this thing
A big difference between the saber and mig-15 is that the saber was made to dogfight (that's why we have 6 .50 cals) and the mig was built for high altitude bomber intercept (that's why they had cannons)
I despise the .50 cals
Fun fact you can buy a saber in real life for roughly 250k, but of corse there are other expenses

Been playing the F9F-8 cause it used to be a lot of fun but getting slaughtered every match. Got in this 8.3 sabre and was good times. Definitely the best 8.3 US plane IMO.

What's cool is that North American actually made the p-51 and the f-86, so they might've litterally turned the p-51 into a jet!
I would like to see more air ab. I feel like all the UA-camrs only do air RB.
It’s mainly just that Air AB isn’t fun long term. It is fun for a round or two but then you just start getting annoyed by missile spam, whacky physics that shouldn’t be possible and constantly having 12 enemies in the air because people have like 10 slots for their planes unlocked.

His aim in that first clip on the Saab105s 6 was pitiful, he’s fairly good but he doesn’t really have trigger discipline (not like it’s super needed for USA)

Gonna be honest i don’t really like the saver for its relatively low turn rate compared to other planes, just an opinion tho
