I had to use this saber and I can say without a doubt that it gets stomped. It literally has to fight better models of itself. God forbid if yours is stock.

I’m having so much trouble in this plane. I’m getting it to redlining speed, then some supersonic will get behind me and force me to turn because he’s way faster and I’ll force the overshoot but by then I’ve bled 1/3 of my speed and the migs catch up and I’m fucked.

The a5 sabre for me is a great beginning top tier jet it teaches you how to be a good pilot and the spaded a5 can stomp the hell out the yak 23 and me163/ki200 in the right hands also beware the a5 sabre has a different playstyle than early jets such as the me262s, f80s and also the meteors and hortens which means in the a5 you have to conserve energy more even in climbs in zoom climbs in the a5 do a 15-20 degree one not a 30 or 40 because it's harder to get your energy back if things go south in this plane and in top tier jets altitude doesn't matter it's speed is the winning factor for dog fights

I discovered something counter-intuitive today. I had assumed that playing with background music would decrease my situational awareness and thus make me worse, but it turns out that when I have background music on, I stop getting tilted when I miss/spark, and so I stop over-committing to fights and I end up conserving a lot more energy, which makes me a less appealing target for enemies and so they actually sneak up on me less. Weird but true.
And also, since it's less repetitive than War Thunder music (WT music has been the same stuff since I first started playing), I don't feel bored when I have to repeatedly boom-n-run on targets, and I'm in no hurry to attempt a shot and leave myself vulnerable.
In addition, due to the sound bug, if WT sound is on I can hear everyone's bullets in the entire map, which makes it very hard to focus, but if WT is muted then I can focus a lot more on my own flying.
While the music does make it impossible to hear when someone is sneaking up on me, I just look behind me a lot more to counter that - and as I've already mentioned, fewer people sneak up on me anyway because my energy state is a lot higher. All in all, I just feel more clear-headed and less emotionally driven when I have music on, which I think has a much greater impact on my flying than the lowering of situational awareness. So yeah, I actually got a kind-of ace in the P-80 like this (not really an ace because one guy that I was about to kill rammed a teammate in a headon, and I badly crit another guy but left him for a teammate because there were more dangerous enemies around).

This was a very good vid bro. I don't have the Sabre yet, the best american plane I have is the P-38 because I'm grinding out the German tech tree, like I've been since the beginning of my account. But I'm glad I watched this because this is the number one American vehicle I want.
I've been looking for a video about the A5 that doesn't just say "it's bad", and this is it. High quality gameplay, 10/10 would like again.
Also min fuel is very helpful on the P-80 too. I normally use 20 min when I fly it, but on those 2 really small maps, I use 8 minutes and it is really helpful for getting guns on target after a reversal.
Why not just F-40 tho if you have it?

finally spaded my a5 sabre its a force to be reckoned with
2:15 I flew the German MiG15 min fuel when I was spading it, about when this video came out, and the extra performance was definitely worth it.

I got the first French fighter (Ouragan) and it’s painful. It’s so slow and has such low acceleration. Yeah you can get up to speed, but it’s hard catching anything

RedJive213 Just got into Sabre’s myself, using the A-5 and F-25, they’re quite fun and they accelerate about as well as most other jets in my opinion, not bad in the department. Just have to know what not to go after and how to retain energy. There’s a certain sweet spot you have to find when turning in the Sabre to try not to bleed off speed.
Just got into 9.0 jets and having more fun with the A5 than the next sabre the F25.
I was in a turn fight with a venom right as he said “you can get into a turn fight with just ab anything, except the venom” and no less than 2 seconds after you said that he pulled lead into me and I died

I havent spent much time grinding for it. I probably will someday, but only if I can find a way to make it viable. Right now it's not looking possible lol
@@WhooptieDo that's fair. I'm an average pilot at best. If I get a kill or 2 in jets I'm happy... in props I can normally kill 2-3. It's rare for me to get a kill in the Jav. It just rips doing stupid things... like 5 and 6g pull outs... I'm sure a top pilot can make it viable but for me it was just a huge waste in RP and lions unless something better comes later for the same tree.

Sabres in general belong in lower altitudes as they lose power quickly the higher they go. Migs fight better at higher altitudes due to having better power there. Supersonics can fight damn near wherever they want.

I can fly this jet pretty good.. can also hit stuff ALOT.. but I cant kill ANYTHING. I just got hit after hit after hit and nothing. When I hit other players in props with 50s they die fast.. but not in this thing.

Tracers these days, ground targets still work fairly well, but tracers set fires.
Nice vid. Min fuel is a risk but it helps a little. But once you’ve learned and spades the a5 take 20 mins.
Disagree there bud. Taking 20 minutes fuel is more of a risk than min.
9 minutes is honestly plenty. Especially now with the meta of climbing, the higher you go the less you consume.
So, with the 104 spam, how do you fly this thing now? I have it stock and every match i just get stomped on by a mile high unseeable mach 104 gunning me down then pulling away weather he hits or misses, that and the missiles everywhere, that are NOW no longer being shown.
I'm not, simply because it's a bit too slow, plus 50 cals. The plane isn't bad in a defensive posture, but when everyone is faster than you, it's just not fun. I still fly the F2 though, at least the guns make up for it. The F2 still also does over 1100 on the deck, which makes it faster than the 8.7s with afterburner. They top out around 1050 for the most part. The f104s are just a pain for everyone. It shouldn't be

I know this is late. In Jets, do you aim like you’re in a propeller aircraft?
I lead wayy more in jets, and its dependent on speed ofc. If theres ever any question in my mind (at any tier) if I'm going to hit my shot, I save it until I get up close. Use the zoom feature, and don't shoot till the aircraft fills your screen damn near... can't miss that way!

nice!! I've always been looking at that plane for the reasons you mentioned, but I'm still pretty bad at jets and the spading process will be long when I get to it. Definitely not an 8.0 plane for sure, it's way too fast even if the acceleration isn't an F sabre.

Old video, do you use boosters on your sabers?
I do, yes.... But it's not for everyone. It requires alot of restraint when you see the overload indications. If you can manage that much then your only real danger zone is around 750 when the slats deploy. The extra lift will increase the wing loading and rip you.
@@WhooptieDo Thank you. I've always used them and never had a major problem ripping, not staying I haven't a time or two, but everyone seems to not fly with them and never understood why they didn't. Great videos by the way. You and a small handful of guys put out instructional type videos that help to understand how to fly with our against other planes, not just content to why they should be good aircraft.

I've been contemplating an F40 video, but aside from that and the A5 the rest of the Sabres all perform the same, CL having more power....
Do you have any tips for choosing targets so that you can attack them without others getting on your six? I've been tilting really hard today and all my deaths have been one of two ways:
1. I climb straight into the battle and have no energy, so I'm forced to turnfight and then I lose all my energy and die. This doesn't always happen and sometimes I get some nice games, but still.
2. I side-climb (side-run i guess, staying under 1500 m) for around 4 entire minutes and then head into the battle. Surely everyone is fighting by then. But somehow, defying the laws of logic, 2 unspotted premium sabres still manage to show up and get on my six. At this point I'm going around 1000 kph, which is decently fast for an A-5, but these guys are just diving so they're at 1100+. And of course my teammates are all tagging behind the one enemy Vautour, so I'm on my own. I can do the rolley-rolley pretty well but they can do the climbey-shooty and I can't follow even though I turn better, because their engine is so much better. I could follow 1 up maybe, but not 2.
I will mention that my highest crew slot is level 27 which is kind of :/ but still, is there any strategy I have to safely attack without others getting on my six? Because this literally happens on my first attack of the game, all the time. It wasn't like that 2 days ago. Spotting is weird. If I go into the clouds at all, they spot me and shoot me down. If I go low, I still can't spot them for some reason.
PS should I go early or late in the battle? If I go early, I can support my teammates and I have more potential targets, but there is a lot higher risk of someone slotting in on my six and forcing me to use those slats. Also I noticed in this video that you managed to stay slow - around 650-750 kph - but still not get in a turnfight with anyone. That seems like the optimal strategy for this plane, but how do you do that?
In general.... I avoid approaching aircraft that have a less than 90 degree course change to intercept.... Does that make sense? MOST people/aircraft in this game will bleed alot of energy in turns, thus lowering their speed. If they have to make a sharp turn to intercept you, chances are they can't catch you right away... That's my first rule... If you could call it that. Speed, then alt, then flank. That's how I start games lately....
Altitude is always good if you use it wisely. Don't be too passive though if you're team is already getting busy. Choose targets that are low on energy.... Those will be apparent by people that climb straight up, or make alot of turns....
A5 will always be slower, so theres not always alot you can do....

Update: this actually helped so much. It seems obvious but it's actually not. Now my speed is always above 950, usually above 1000. I just instantly went from 0-1 kills on average to 1-2 kills on average - not great, but it's a start for a half-spaded A-5! I also usually fly with 20 mins now because the matches are 90% supersonics and it's nice to have that fuel advantage while they have to go back and refuel.
@@Agent-ic1pe taking 20 minutes is a tough tradeoff in the A5. Glad it helped though.
I use the sea as a weapon lol.. so many crash trying to take me out in a high speed bnz, when I'm flying literally just above sea level.. stay just high enough so you can duck under an attack, but so low it discourages a good supersonic pilot from committing fully. stay fast (takes practice, esp when flying defensively) and always be scanning for opportunities to assist.. you're a support aircraft too so remember to be evaluating which fight is a priority for you to lend support in any given circumstance (which could change at any moment). Take on all of whoopties maneuver advice and you're sure to get success, good luck!

Yep, I always run boosters. The skin can be found on marketplace for cheap. It's the Alaska ANG skin.

Generally people go for Ground Target load out. AP currently does more damage than the rest. Tracers are also fair as they set fires easily.

I just got this POS, and I cant get along with it. I try to turn with other sabres, but they just out energy the shit out of me even when we start at the same energy. The engine sucks, its altitude performance is terrible, and it gets put against planes that are vastly superior to it in pretty much every way that matters.
Having a jet that turns well in this meta is like being in a normal car with REALLLLLYYY good brakes in a NASCAR race. Shure, it sounds like an advantage to be able to outbrake the competition. But all it does is slow you down more and you still get your teeth kicked in.

Japan Sabres, how to use them?
Like any other Sabre in all honesty. Stay fast. Just gotta be careful with F40, it will rip very easily. I may hit a tutorial on it at some point.

I honestly think it should be 8.3. Now I know that ya said this plane doesn’t need to go down because technically it’s on par with the g.91, but it’s like the f86K
It would be fine at its br if it weren’t for what it could face. The f86K could face 8.0s so it had to be moved to 9.3. The A5 can face 9.7s so it should be moved to 8.3. You aren’t facing 7.3s anyway and you aren’t facing Lightning’s and hunter FGA.9s

@@maxsuarezmuller7186 the biggest problem you will face stock is maintaining speed. As a stock aircraft I might recommend staying above 800kmh as much as possible and avoiding the turn fighting until you get some performance upgrades

I am having so much trouble w this plane stock
Stock can be painful because it's quite slow. Spend a little bit of time getting up to 700kmh (roundabouts) , and maintaining that speed in a climb up to 3k, maybe 4k.... It will take a bit, and maybe a bit passive, but it gives you a chance to exchange that altitude gained into speed, which you WILL need to fight the team. That's IF your team survives that long.

1.aiming is hard when going 1000kmh
2.uptiers are almost unplayable unlike in props

@@georgegeorge9361 I agree on that, but with the fact in mind 75% of the players you face in jets have the same problem what happens alot is that you get underestimated in a 8.0 at 9.0 BR (for example) and the "average" player does not know how to keep its advantage against a lesser jet. Also depends on what jet you use, I love the La-15 at 9.0 because it rolls, turns and accelerates great which makes for a nice surprise for alot of 9.0 jets not paying attention.
If you encounter a "good" player in a plane with a higher BR you are either fucked or have to rely on your team (yeah, indeed...) because they wont make a mistake.

Hi! I unlocked this plane but decided not to fly it since I was lacking jet experience, so I wnet with the f84. I tryed to use the f84 exploiting its speed to boom and zoom and i ended up really getting great results, i barely die in matches and i usually take out a minimun of 2 enemy planes. Would you consider that learning to do that in the F84 is a good foundation to moving into 9.0s, especially the Sabre? I realized that around 7.0/7.3 most allied teams just stay on the deck and rush the middle, turn fight in a plane that cant turn fight and the teams die stupidly. I kind of side climb a little bit, i get quickly to about 3000m and from there i start to choose targets and doing safe passes with the advantage of the f84s speed. That wasn't quite the ending I expected! Lol. You definitely have your aim down in the head ons. Your climbs and turns are a little aggressive imo but you didn't put yourself in trouble because of them so that's good. You'll do fine in 9.0.... But that map you had an airspawn though, so it wasn't a very good example imo.
