  • Is the Sig P365 worth twice the price of the Taurus G3C?
They both hold 12 rounds of 9mm. They are both small enough for concealed carry. The Taurus G3c is a bit bigger. The Sig P365 has an impeccable reputation.
Clinger Holsters makes great holsters for both of these great pistols:

To answer the title question there is no way the Sig is worth twice as much as the Tarus. The Tarus comes with 3 mags and the Sig comes with 2 . Sig mags are $50 , Tarus are $25-$30 . Also the Tarus G3 15 & 17 rounds mags work in your G3c . I could have bought either and went with the Tarus, it’s the best bang for your buck on the market !

Ok. But is it a better gun? I have a Glock 19 but it's too big for concealed carry to me. I'm looking for a small gun but I don't need nothing cheap I'll regret later on. I'm not saying the Taurus is but I know the sig isn't.

@@jillymiller7590 exactly why is the Sig better ? Hey both function well. No one knows if the Sig will outlast the Tarus. The Tarus has 3 mags and will except the Sig 226 18 round mags. I understand liking the Sig more as fit and finish is slightly better but will it function better longer ? No one knows that answer. People can guess but I’m guessing if taken care of properly the Tarus will last as long as the Sig. I can purchase either pistol but I’m leaning towards the Tarus because I haven’t seen evidence that the Sig is the better pistol. Matter of fact they had more than a few problems when they hit the market. The Tarus hasn’t had any I’m aware of. In the end we all decide what we are willing to pay for. I haven’t seen a bad review on the Tarus so nothing makes me think it is inferior to the Sig in any way. Buy the Tarus, a good holster and a bunch of practice ammo and go have fun. Also the Tarus is great for dry fire training with that 2nd strike capability. Many more bonus points on the Tarus.

    • @jillymiller7590
      @jillymiller7590 3 роки тому +4

@@barrygoodson4952 The Taurus is clearly of a lower quality than the Sig. You only need to hold both for a few seconds to be able to tell the difference. The G3C has an improved trigger over earlier models, but still doesn't stand up against the Sig trigger. The double strike trigger is nice, but imo isn't great for practicing because the trigger pull is different. It is like training with a different gun. Out in the wild you shouldn't be having the longer harder trigger pull. The Sig easily has better sights, and they are night sights. From my experience the Sig has a bit more recoil impulse, but is far more compact. The safety is optional on the Sig. Little things like the slide release and slide serrations are better on the Sig. The Sig is super popular so it is going to have way more options for holsters.

@@barrygoodson4952 don't get me wrong though, I am absolutely not saying the Taurus is a bad firearm. I think it is great for its price point. I own one and it is one of the first ones I suggest to newer shooters that don't have a lot of $$ to throw around. I have considered buying more to place around the house in strategic locations because they are just that affordable and reliable.
I am arguing that the Sig is a superior firearm, so if money is not an issue, there is no real reason to get the Taurus. It does everything better, and the advantages that the Taurus does have (price, extra magazine, double strike) are largely irrelevant to their main purpose as an EDC.

The Taurus runs between $259 and $479 depending on the town you find it in. In Jacksonville FL, it's on the high end, but in Gainesville FL it's runs below MSRP.
My thought on two very different firearms like these is that the Taurus is a great first conceal carry gun, while the Sig is for a more experienced shooter. They are meant for two very different buyers. Not comparing Xs and Os here....I'm experienced with shotguns and rifles, but I'm new to CCW. I own the Taurus G3 (which is a mid sized build, but is difficult for me to conceal since I'm thin and don't wear baggy clothes much) and I have the G3c arriving this week.
But..... I am very, very, very interested in getting the Sig P365 next. It feels freaking amazing in my hand.

Also reduces the grips filing your palms down a bit as well due to recoil.

Simon J. Prices don't come down on SIGs. SIGs have never been cheap or less expensive. The 365 is a micro compact and smaller than a G2c or G3c that are sub compacts. A micro compact will fit in a pocket but sub compact will not. Hellcats are more than 365s by about $100. A 365 usually runs about $500 while Hellcats run about $600. Pre-plandemic prices.

To be clear, there's nothing wrong with the G3C. It's a great budget gun, but it's a budget gun. Taurus marketed it as such. And in that sense, it's fantastic. The p365 is not a budget gun, and you can tell the difference when handling them side by side. Every aspect is a little bit nicer out of the box. Whether that's worth it is a matter of personal opinion. My friend clearly thought it was worth it, but if the roles were reversed, I don't know that it would have been that significant to me.

I own (and love) my G2C, and own (and love) my P365 (now converted to a P365X with the substitution of a Sig flat trigger and the P365XL grip). My G2C has the Olight Baldr Mini combo light/laser, and my P365X has a Nightstick combo light/laser. But my P365X also has a Magguts +2 extender kit, so it's carrying 14+1 with only an additional 1/8" of length. Since almost every assault I've seen recently has two (or more) perps, a few extra rounds before a mag reload brings great comfort. And the trigger on the P365X is vastly superior to the G2C's. If I couldn't afford the P365, the G2C (or G3C) would be a very good option, but since I only pocket carry, the smaller, lighter and higher capacity P365X is without doubt the top choice for me. Since I won't put a price on my (and my family's) personal safety, it's the P365X hands down. Should it cost almost double the G3C? Probably not. But will I spend the extra money for a clear defensive advantage? Without loosing a beat. But I keep my G2C in my car, since at it's very low price, if my car gets robbed, I'm not going to shed a tear about its loss, and just replace it with the G3C. But my home defense firearms are a whole other story, and neither the P365X nor the G2C are in the same league. Which is a story for another day.

Lakeline LLC steel guide rod is like 23 bucks and a stainless striker sleeve is 17. You go to Keeptinkering and buy an SAO replacement trigger for 36 dollars that takes 60percent of the over travel and take-up out of the trigger pull. So roughly 70 to 80 bucks in internal upgrades and still for 300 bucks less than the cost of the Sig. Now that the G3C uses Glock dovetails aftermarket sight options are plentiful. So, let's say the pistol cost 280 out the door if you buy the stuff from Lakeline and Keeptinkering and the 64.99 Truglo low night sights directly from Taurus you are at 415 to 435 for a tricked out pistol and still under the 550 dollar price tag of the Sig, so now that's money that can be used for Ammo or carry accessories. Heck you could put a 19 dollar fiber optic front sight on the Taurus and have virtually the same sighting that comes stock on the TP9 SF elite. It is hard to argue the value in the G3C. I could have bought the Sig and chose the G3C over it because Parts are cheap to purchase and if it were to get taken after having to defend myself, I am not out a ton of money. In the current state of our economy it is easier to come up with 300 bucks than it is 600. We are living in uncertain times and being frugal is not exactly a bad thing. Oh and on a side note if you pull the trigger back to the wall in SA mode you can lock the trigger in that position with the thumb safety and not have all that take-up to contend with drop the safety and bang. I practice all kinds of drills with my G3C and it is not unnatural because when you grip the pistol most stronghold grips the thumb will ride atop the safety anyway. I have owned pistol 100 times more expensive and at the end of the day for economic personal defense the Taurus G3C is a practical choice. I would hate to have my Staccato or Dan Wesson that costs just shy of 3k taken and never returned because I had to defend my life.

The more expensive guns are mostly not worth the price of extra ammo or getting an extra gun. If you have an incident, you have the same gun as a back up carry while the others in evidence. Or have one open one concealed.

Worth noting with the G3C: the version with the upgraded AmeriGlo front sight does not have the front sight installed correctly. It came loose on my first trip to the range and caused consistent malfunctions where it would not go completely into battery, jamming the slide in the process -- I could not get through 100 rounds without almost losing the front sight entirely, and of course my accuracy decreased to the point of absurdity as the sight shook itself loose. I have not yet contacted Taurus support on the matter, but the gun store where I bought it (brand new in the box from the factory) said they will help handle the process. (They have a large supply of these and probably want to know how to handle this so their future customers do not run into this problem.) Just something to be aware of. If you're going to get the G3C, I recommend going with the base model, because an additional $50 upgrade was actually a downgrade.

Which brings me to the point that I own both and have carried both. My p365 is my EDC and my G3C is my back up for carry. I've also owned the G2C(sold to get the 3c) The sig is a better overall gun for carrying. It shoots like a full size gun (for me) and has a smaller profile/carry feel. The G3C is AWESOME and shoots good too but there is just something missing in refinement when you shoot them back to back. The G3C is a great gun but the P365 just really outshines it overall

I'm going to toss in something to ponder. If you buy either of these guns, there is a good chance youre going to carry appendix because the size lends itself to that. He states that he prefers the Sig for the reasons that it doesn't have the same safety as the Taurus, when in fact it actually doesn't have any type of safety other than a drop, "line a Glock" which is incorrect. Glock of course has a trigger safety on every one of their guns.
My point, the Sig is probably the most dangerous ultra compact in the market if you plan to appendix carry. Do not holster that gun unless you are insanely careful. I would take the Taurus everyday over the sig for this reason alone. I appendix carry and I have a P30 because I like my jewels where they are. The Sig is very cool but I honestly don't believe it's a safe carry gun unless you're pocket carrying it inside a wallet type holster.

Scott I like the way you think. Maybe I’m old school (or just old lol) but I was raised where pretty much every gun (except revolvers with their long and relatively heavy DA trigger’s) had a manual safety. Having been around 1911’s and Browning Hi Powers the manipulation of the manual safety is intuitive and with practice very fast as demonstrated by some of the best shooters in the world using 1911 style pistols. I find it perplexing when people act like it’s some great burden to swipe off a manual safety while bringing a gun up to point of aim. Would they carry their shotguns or rifles with a chambered round and the manual safety disengaged as well?😳 Because pretty much every one of those has one lol.
Another point I like to make is in the event that somehow your handgun is ever wrestled away from you by a bad guy a manual safety maybe...just maybe could be the difference between you getting shot or not. No guarantees but a gun with no manual safety and that bad guy pulls the trigger it’s going bang. If it has a manual safety engaged and in the hands of someone who’s unfamiliar with it maybe you have chance.

    • @rogerd943

I just bought a G3C the other day, havent taken possession yet, for the very fact that it has a manual safety. Like he says if you train with a safety it is not a problem. I have a PPX that I carry in the woods that has no safeties so that is carried without a round chambered. Again, I know this so am ready to work the slide when unholstering. Train for what you carry. I like the Taurus over some the other compacts because I do have large hands and I dont like my pinky hanging off the bottom. I will be trying out a 15 round mag for the additional space. Now to source some ammo for it. hahaha.

I like both. The Taurus gives you more options on carry. You can choose to carry it without a safety and it’s still more safe to carry. Yes, you can carry a typical striker fired handgun just fine without a safety. Now, for appendix carry, the Taurus may give the carrier more peace of mind. I think it’s a great design. I’d prefer them to have an option without a safety, but I have no qualms about the Taurus G3C.

Replaced the guide rod with an all metal lakeline rod, metal strike guide, and night sights. 2 extra rounds is a big deal, along with comfort in the hand/shoot-ability, the Taurus just shoots well, the trigger is that bad as long as you actually use it and become familiar with it. The G2c/G3c is a sub compact. The P365 is a micro compact and smaller. Size matters. The G2c/G3c is a 12 shot by factory mag. The P365 is a 10 shot by factory mag is only 2 rounds less. Capacity matters. The trigger on the 365 is smoother than the G2c/G3c as is the overall quality and in the sights. However in the scheme of things short small snappier carry pistols are meant for close range defensive shooting so as long as it can do that job then the job gets done and it does not matter practically speaking. I have a G2c and its a great pistol but its larger and has almost the same capacity as my 365. They both have over 600 rounds of all kinds of ammo and are still flawless and both are accurate. The 365 gets carried more due to that size and capacity. The G2c is a small bump versus a 365 smaller bump. Depending on body type that can make a big difference especially printing in warm weather. Either one will serve well but its just going to come down to personal preference and what works best for the individual shooter like on all pistols.

I've heard of quite a few people who were holstering their pistols, depending on the safety blade to keep them safe and their tee shirts/floppy nylon holsters got into the trigger guard. BAM, hole in butt or leg. Hence the Strike Control Device for the Glock. I don't know why you'd force the pistol down but I guess people do. That's why I prefer the thumb safety on the G3C. Set it holster it, then take the safety off, rest your thumb on safety as you draw. Just like a 1911. The safety is a good size, not as good as the one on my Smith and Wesson M&P but much better then one on my Ruger SRs.

I own and carry a G3C, while my youngest son owns and carries the Sig 365. We visit our range regularly for practice, and make it habit to clean & lightly lube areas of our pistols after each firing. I notice much more wear on the frame slide top areas, and barrel to slide contact scuffing of my G3C compared to his Sig, that shows no wear. I love the feel of my G3C in hand, and have added many custom modifications for my preferences; as a Keep Tinkering, flat faced SOA trigger that eliminated the trigger safety and reduced the overall travel by 45%, with a mirror polish of all internal contact components. A new OEM striker assy. for $14.99 from Taurus resolved my 100% light strikes originally, after trying the Lakeline llc steel striker assy, plus the M*Carbo spring kit, which none of those helped the strike issue, due to being the original 14lb spring weight. I also added TruGlo fiber optic sights, along with replacing the factory barrel with a Taurus Black barrel that enhanced my lock-up by 50% and increased accuracy by 30% over the original scratched up, scuffed barrel. $59 from Taurus. FOr the metallurgy factor, plus quality control, I would choose the Sig and realize you get what you pay for. The Taurus was $249, so how could I go wrong for that price.

The G3C does NOT have a DA/SA trigger. Like the message at the bottom of the screen states once you rack the slide and chamber a round it is SA. The long trigger pull is for second strike attempt or for dry firing practice. It cannot be de-cocked so there is no normal DA firing mode.

    • @big0bad0brad
      @big0bad0brad 22 дні тому

You can't decock it but you can never cock it in the first place. To do this, you take the slide off, take the spring assembly out so you can get to the barrel, drop a round in it, then as you put the barrel back into place, bring it so you can drop the cartridge just a couple mm out of the barrel but still mostly in. Then with the bullet slightly out of the barrel, lift the cartridge up a little with the barrel and get the rim positioned past the tab that helps eject it, and push the cartridge in a little way so the rim starts feeding into that groove. Then slide the barrel back over the bullet and push it all the way in its normal spot.
Replace the spring and when you put the slide back on, don't slide it too far past the normal ready position so that it doesn't cock the firing spring. BUT do slide it far enough back that the teardown latch clicks back into place. I do this by turning the safety on after I get it in the ready position, and then pull the slide back the little bit the safety allows (this is enough to get the teardown latch back in normal mode but won't allow you to cock it).
Now you have an uncocked G3C that will have trigger spring pressure the whole way until it fires, which is probably not the most ideal for quick but controlled shooting, but it does get the tension off the firing spring if you leave one in the chamber, and it's arguably a little safer against accidental fire if if you like to leave the manual safety off.
As long as we're talking about stupid G3C tricks, that's also a way to load a round without a magazine. But there's another way to do it that cocks the firing pin, but you'll probably pinch your finger a couple times until you get the hang of it. Rack it open, start feeding a round with the rim past that same tab as with the other method (point the gun at the ceiling and you can actually set the cartridge into the slide opening and push the bottom of it so the rim engages the tab). You can get it started into that tab groove just a short ways before the ejector pin blocks you. Then as you close the slide, you have to keep pushing the bottom of the round in - once it's closed far enough, the ejector tab is out of the way and it will let you push it in more and if you got it far enough it will feed in as it closes.
A final warning, if you have a round in the slide while it's off the gun, all it takes to fire it is something pulling that trigger tab and letting go of it, and I wouldn't want to be anywhere near it if that were to happen.

When I went to the range I rented the G3C to see if it convinced me. The Sig is so expensive that they don't rent it. Surely if I tried it I would buy it. But when I tried the G3C the shots were so precise that I fell in love. I liked the grip and the pressure. It is functional and precise and economical. I bought several more things and still didn't reach the price of the Sig. Although believe me, I would love to try it.

3000 rounds through my G3c with cleaning regularly and never a jam, the pull to the wall on the trigger is long but you will never question where the break is on it and the follow up shots are shorter due to what they implemented to the trigger. The price is un beatable. Three mags but I bought a very inexpensive 15 round aftermarket which fits and runs well. When compared to my brothers and friends handguns I just love my g3c probably just user but My stock Taurus does better than their Glock43 mos and p365 macro both with dots

Well done, I like the review.. I have both and would rely on the Sig 365 for EDC & in a suit,, as you said {& perhaps the SAS is best in a suit..}... The XL fits EDC even better,, [I only OWB] and a hogue on the XL grip would be perfect for ME.... The Taurus I bought as a spare [backpack] EDC- firearm....I've yet to break it in but look forward to it.. I have heard that it does better with hotter ammunition??

But the G3c add lakeline stainless striker guide and firing spring! Still less than the p365 also recoil and trigger smoothes out nice with those features added and add the 17 round mag from the G3 omg you will never have better control and grip on any subcompact! Trust me..oh and you can buy the sleeve for the 15 and 17 round mags from Taurus or bloody wheels on eBay!

You can upgrade the trigger to one by keeptinkering for not much money, too. I bought the G2C and did lakeline’s stainless steel recoil assembly, stainless steel guide, and flush mag bases. I also got the Taurus night sights. I could afford yo buy two set up just like this one and some ammo for the price of the sig without any ammo.

No huge difference except the price. The only thing that people can actually complain about it the trigger pull and maybe the sights, but that can be fixed and still be hundreds cheaper than the Sig.

Hey, I know it’s your channel, but the bias is obvious. But...we saw those groupings! You hit it out of the park with that GC3! (I mean bullet on bullet too!) I have a GC3. I carried a Ruger SR9 as a EDC for years, but always felt is was a little too large. So when I saw this small (and very handsome looking) Taurus for that price, I figure 'what the heck' I couldn't lose. Now its my favorite pistol. Why? It has an accessory rail for a light or laser (in my case, a combo!) If you get the GC3 T.O.R.O ($100 more) now you're optics ready! (I purchased a T.O.R.O. upgrade kit from GC3 ($125.) It is now one Sexy Sidepiece! Still all-in about $525! (wish I could include the pic. 😉)
P.S. I almost forgot the bonus surprise! The GC3 has DOUBLE STRIKE CAPABILITY! This means bullet mishaps like light primer strikes can still be shot by simply continually pulling the trigger (as opposed to the ole tap & rack used with most pistols on a misfire.) What makes it ALL WORTH IT is indoor training. With systems like the Mantis Laser Academy, I can practice my draw and accuracy drills, in-house, without having to constantly rack my slide over and over and over and over... MUCH MORE ENJOYABLE. Now I save range time, $ and ammo!

Buy two Taurus pistols for the price of one Sig? Let me do the math. Two accurate and reliable pistols and six magazines vs one pistol and two magazine's for the same money! I don't need a calculator for this.

The Sig P365 is a high-quality more expensive micro size 9mm designed to be a concealed carry all day. The Taurus is nice compact, heavier slightly bigger, less expensive, and not very comfortable to carry all day.
The sig comes with 2 /10rd. mags the Taurus comes with 3/12rd. mags. Both shoot well and are accurate. .

Maybe the M18 I have is a dud, but it has the worst out of the box trigger I have ever felt. I’m mean horrible. Just a spongy mess and when it breaks it gives a “sproing”spring noise that adds to the poor trigger feel. Had a P320 SC that was better, but not a lot.
I’d never accuse the G3C of being a nicer gun than any Sig, but I’ll take that long pull trigger any day over my M18. Yes, it’s a long pull to the rear, but once your there, the trigger reminds me of less nice Walther/Canik style of break.
For concealed carry, I have really been loving the S&W Equalizer. I replaced the grip safety with an NDZ flush fit one and that gun is near perfect for me.
Thanks for the good video content 🙏🍻

I have a Sig P365 and the Taurus G2C. Both had issues in the first 200 rounds. Would I buy the Sig again? Probably not. Would I buy another Taurus? Definitely yes. In fact, I am looking into upgrading my G2C to a G3C. The G2C is great but I might have to get a G3C for the price and quality. As far as shooting goes, I think I perform better with my G2C than my P365. Both great guns but like others mentioned here, the P365 isn't worth 2X the Taurus.

Some people hate Tarus just like they hate Hi Points because both are inexpensive firearms to purchase. I have a few high end guns like Glock and Springfields but also a couple of Tarus and a Hi Point. All of mine function well and I take care of them like you are supposed to. Not a single function problem with my Hi Point or either Tarus I own. Clean and oil your firearms as needed and most in the market today work well !

You will never fire this in double action unless a bad primer . When you chamber your first round Taurus is in single action . There is no decock so it is impossible to chamber a round and fire it in double unless you already pulled it and it didn’t go bang , that is a big difference
