Oh YUM ! Love this type of cornbread . I too had trouble making it myself . Now I'm gonna try again ! THANK YOU ! I was born in Ohio , Cincinnati , but lots of Kentucky relatives , I've eaten this all my life , love ,love it with Pintos !
It is awesome! These old recipes that we see now are Depression recipes that are being presented to this new generation! When I got married in 1967 my new mother taught me how to cook when I visited her. My husband went to Vietnam 🇻🇳 and I went to her house to study while in Nursing school. She taught me how to cook everything. When she cooked, I wrote down everything she did, every sprinkle…everything! I still make her recipes today….praise God for the old folks. 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾😳🤣🤣🤣
I am born and raised in Arkansas and never heard of hot water cornbread until I move to Kansas none of my friends Grandma Mom nobody ever cooked it but so glad I love your recipe😅❤
Hey LaVonne! Today was my second time using one of your recipes. I've made hot water cornbread for over thiry years yet this was my first time adding melted butter, what a difference in taste and texture. Absolutely delicious. Thanks again!
Thank you! Going to make it right now, but a lot less... just for me. Until now no one in my family has liked what I made before. If they taste this, they will want some Too! I'm so glad you learned how to perfect it & are nice enough to share it. I think I will subscribe to your channel because you're so sweet!
Thank you so much.. I too could never get that recipe right. ! Try to remember how my grandmother made them, but it never came out right... She will use the white cornmeal . PS . I see you have an old package of cornmeal that name is not used anymore save that bag of cornmeal package. The company have removed her name off of all their products now !!
Hot water cornbread is just white plain meal, no flour just meal
Right!!
