Wow you guys make the best videos on how to be a professional towing company, top-notch, while also doing a learning class on how you should absolutely positively never ever leave your shop unprepared for the worst, while always carrying a small toolbox full of tools with the bare minimum of supplies, so much stuff like this can happen so that you don’t die out in the desert. However, about 40% of the time you wind up doing a show like this where you forget to bring simple common equipment that every tow truck should have with them at all times especially if you come there in a trailer L O L. You do awesome videos on what could go wrong very quickly very easily and how to stay calm while fixing it, dealing with it, dealing with your company there, all without dying in the desert, which is very easily done in a situation like yours. More people should praise how mentally stable you are in dangerous situations like this when everything goes wrong except your brain. You keep it together under a very stressful situation, which is very manly of you to do. It shows leadership, it shows how smart you are and keeping it together, keeping your crew together so nobody gets hurt or left behind or dies in the desert or in any other situation that you got yourself stuck in because somebody forgot to put a roll of duct tape, a combination wrench, extra nuts and bolts or other every day items, etc. etc. thank you for showing the pros and cons of a dangerous business that you do and how to be prepared and how to handle such life threatening situations while coming home every night safely. For me, I am very proud to watch these videos because I learn something every single time I watch these. I learned from all the good points as well as all the bad points. You showed it all so people like me could learn so much more so if something happens to me or to someone else, I/we know how to handle the situation because of smart people like you showing me and others how to survive and fix things when you are on your own in a dangerous area. Keep up the good work and thank you sir !!
The drone is probably one of the best new tools a rescue team like yours should always carry with them ! You alone showed several good examples of why this drone could save your life, save your equipment, get help, find people, check for road obstacles, look ahead for any potential dangers/damages, find alternative routes incase your cellphone or GPS is not working properly, etc…This alone most likely made someone put one with their gear today ! Thanks for showing how useful this is for the people who did not know this 👍🏻
If you treat your people well, they'll treat you well in return without a second thought. My old man used to have employees that would bend over backwards on his job sites. He used to tell his employees that his policy was "Work like a man, get paid like a man." What he meant was that he expected his construction crew to work hard and do skilled work, and they in return should expect to get paid properly and treated fairly for their work.
The drone footage is an exciting addition to the channel! Seems like it helps you do your job and simultaneously helps us get a better view of you doing it!

People complaining about the Wrecker don't seem to understand that it's not done. It's still in early shake down. It took Rory years to dial in Trailmater. Loved this episode. The Wrecker is a beast. I look forward to the day it's dialed in. Also, you should set up the Suzuki as a buggy. So it can run parts up in an emergency and can get anywhere quickly. It wouldn't necessarily be for recovery. Keep up the amazing videos. Been watching from day 1 and haven't missed one yet.
That off-road Wrecker is a real monster. I remember the episode when you laid down the frame and welded it up. You have come a very long way since then. I have watched the channel since before the newer banana and way before the Morrvair and the off-road Wrecker.
I think it is time to pause the Bombi work and give the Wrecker some TLC. A few of the fixes that you have been talking about doing will make it unstoppable.
There are tons of off road recovery UA-cam channels. Yours is always full of interesting home made equipment. The best part of your channel is YOUR HUMILITY. Other channels are so damn arrogant I just can't watch. You have an awesome crew, have fun, and are very talented at recovering vehicles. Thanks so much for letting us in your world. 👍💪
I love how Tom described the drone, it is mind blowing sometimes when you stop and think about it. I got one a while back and they're great to use but it really is a pocket helicopter you can scout with.
The Wrecker looks like such a capable desert monster from up above - love the drone shots of that truck as it looks so hunkered down and just crawls through wherever it wants to go. It's got a Spirit and a Soul, and its hungry.
The drone is the best equipment MORR got in recent times. The ability to scout further ahead (or behind), and give another look to rescues is quite nice.
Everyone should have a Jefe and Brett in their lives. Jefe’s always ready to go. Nothing negative and taking care of his friends. Let’s hear it for Tom-Tom for pointing out every negative thing and Matt’s ability to figure out and repair everything in a pinch. He’s the picture of improvise adapt and overcome.
Matt, the heavy wrecker is, and always will be, a work in progress. It's a totally scratch-built R&D, prototype and first production model, all in one unit. It's being simultaneously field tested and put into hard service. Yet it has performed incredibly well in every situation that it was designed for. With its monster tires and awesome power, it absolutely crushes the landscape. With rear-steer, it manages to snake up narrow, complex and technically challenging canyons. I have loved every specialty vehicle you have produced, but the Heavy Wrecker is my favorite. Don't ever get discouraged by the learning curve, just keep on perfecting it.
I am always so impressed with how you and your team stay relaxed and calm on the outside when things start going wrong. I’m sure you are frustrated on the inside but you don’t let that cloud your mind And solve the problem. I would be throwing wrench’s and tossing bad words left and right. Watching you helps teach me to stay calm and try your best to laugh it off. Cheers to Matt and his whole team.

I think you want two foldable jump seats on 2" receivers that can quickly attach and rotate 90 degrees on top of those toolboxes. Might be a good time to make a 2-3 gallon surge tank/emergency tank with a separate line and pump under the hood with a manual y valve. Nice work!

These Ford Bronco commercials starring Jefe keep getting better and better! Maybe he should get a big superman S or J for the hood. Hopefully you get the down time you need to get the heavy wrecker ship shape again! Drones sure help when you are nowhere and going further away.
Very nice to see Eric again. That was a pretty tough recovery all round. You might have to go to parts for like a ten ton truck, for the driveline. Those big wheels and tires need a much heavier driveline system. The torque on it must be huge. Ed's back mining again? Wow, you go Ed. Thanks for the video.
Yeah I don’t think he has quite enough beef in the drivetrain. Might look into like an Eaton 10 speed or something. Going to that stuff will probably require a repower tho since most of the heavy stuff is designed around a diesel engine.
In my IT job, I trained a few people. I always told them, "We learn by making mistakes. If it always goes well, we aren't really learning anything." 😎👍 One of my trainees told me, "I thought you were really smart, but you're as dumb as we are. You've already made these same mistakes!" 😂 I said, "Yep, you're learning!" 😊

I love how Matt stops and explains the basics of living out west. I do love the arid climate for sure, I could never go back to the Midwest and live with humidity. It's terrible in both winter and summer. Ha
JUMP SEATS: Hey Mat why not build a couple jump seats for off road with seat belts or harness. They would fit on the left and right side behind the rear window off the forward structural tubing. They could be made to swing out and lock into place on the occasions they are needed. When not in use they would swing tight to the heavy tubing behind the rear window glass and lock into place. It would increase safety and remove any chance an employee could fall off in front of those rear wheels!

Ever since I saw this truck being built I always thought that they should had installed some jumper seats that fold out with seat belts in the rear for exactly these situations. This video also showed that it would be a good idea to have a built in cooler to keep water cool.
That is absolutely not a defeat, It is a win on all sides, both were awesome recoveries no matter what you say. Thank you for sharing! 👌 Great teamwork! 😊❤

It’s amazing how much the essentially stock Bronco has come in clutch for the team! Maybe Matt needs to put a smaller Corsair body on a second gen Bronco chassis as a rig in between the Banana and Morrvair? I hope this is a wake up call to set aside time and really finish the Wrecker too.
On today's episode - Matt made a call and got a shirt from the Jefe and Rhett. You are great at adapting and over coming your issues, so that deserves a victory pie.

2 things - that first recovery was so satisfying to watch, the wrecker made it look so easy, it was awesome. Second, that guy in the Taco had no off-road driving skills. Both spots he got stuck were driver error. No business being out there, especially alone.

It's hard to imagine the heavy wrecker as anything but a beast but even the toughest beast has it's off day. You guy's handled it great. The problem diagnosis, solution and repair make this a don't miss website. Thx for taking us along.
One of the many challenges of a one-of-a-kind vehicle is that the total combination of parts hasn't been tried and proven under load until they are. The weakest links will break and be upgraded until things settle out. Engineering every component and knowing the various stresses and loads each will need to handle befuddles the largest car companies with millions of dollars in design software and teams of engineers even for a fairly static and predictable set of use cases. This poor wrecker never knows where Matt and team will take it next nor what challenge it will face. The requirements for the build are literally redefined on every job.
Well, your working your way through all the bugs in the wrecker and its constantly improving. Fortunately you have been able to make trail repair. I think that shows your build forethought and quality.
@Matt, I think you should make a flat tow bar to connect to your pintle and to the front of the towed vehicle while it's connected to the winches. This could avoid the towed vehicle rolling into this awesome wrecker.
There's nothing to hook it up to on most vehicles. And it would pivot side to side unless it's a triangle like on a tractor. They better put something like cushioning blocks on the back of the wrecker, like on the back of semi trailers for backing up to a ramp.
Trail repairs are cool, those of us who don't have fancy tools or sometimes the right ones enjoy watching the professional having to fix equipment like we do. Keep wrenching, you seem to enjoy it
The Toyota guy should definitely find another hobby - both obstacles he got "stuck" on were very obvious. It makes you wonder how authentic any of those "sponsor" stickers are... As for the trail repair - that was impressive. You guys definitely need to start going "extra over the top" on your builds, as far as how big and strong components are.
I love how you snatched defeat from the jaws of victory at the end. Actually the whole video reminds me how you guys are an unstoppable team. The Wrecker though seems like it constantly is being tested in the most apocalyptic scenarios. Eventually it will also be unstoppable. I’m driving through Utah October 5th in a Prius and I’ll find a way to wave hello to you guys. Hopefully no off roading for me but who knows?

The Drone (don't know its name (MorrAire, maybe) adds special views that really enhance the content by showing how rugged the terrain is. Most Excellent! I really liked the time lapse of the wrecker approaching the old mine buildings. BTW - A bigger drone could make Parts Runs for you. Great content.

The drone footage was real good in this one. It shows how challenging the terrain is.
You built an amazing machine! Manufacturers spend millions of dollars and years testing and still have recalls. You never know how something works until you test it in real situations! Your off road wrecker should have speakers blasting "Bad to the bone "every time you start it!
I thought the sand chute was gnarly! This has to be one of your top five episodes! You really get the feel for just how steep and rough this non-road is!
Editing was masterful too😊
Wow!! That Bronco continues to impress, and Matt's and TomTom's problem solving skills, never give up, just find the problem, analyze, and fix the problem(s), and everyone and all rescue vehicles go home to fight another day. You definitely deserved the victory pie, Matt!!

The drone work y'all have been doing is excellent. Please continue to keep this a part of the filmmaking toolkit y'all take into the field. Especially if it means the poor camera persons don't have to climb the sand chute repeatedly! ;)
Thanks for showing how useful this is for the people who did not know this 👍🏻
Jefe is a true friend and super employe to have! Rett and Jefe are a golden team "we know they'll be hungry in an hour"
I’m pretty sure that Jefe is Matt’s nephew as well.
The drone footage is an exciting addition to the channel! Seems like it helps you do your job and simultaneously helps us get a better view of you doing it!

Thank you from California!
Matt is excellent in remaining positive despite unforeseen issues. Tom did well too. It was a victory pie for sure. Setbacks are not necessarily defeats.
Matt, my wife and I met you at peach days. You were very kind and friendly and took a few minutes to chat with me. You are definitely the nice guy that you project on your videos. I would love to get stuck on the side of the mountain like this with you anytime.
Matt, your ability to stay cool and not get upset, snippy, etc is awe inspiring. I aspire to that level of cool.
Some would view this rescue as a failure because of how many things went wrong. However these are the ones that make watching interesting. Success!
I figure if they get the stuck vehicle back to civilization, it's a win! 😎👍
Everything else is just details.
well said
They made it out and figured out that they need parts, looks like a win to me!
Matt does whatever he can to ENSURE that the Wrecker is never full of fuel!!!
😂
Looks like, yeah
Can't waste money on fuel if the tanks always empty.
It's a good thing he wasn't full of fuel because it would have just leaked out everywhere!
1000 gallon tank and he would still run out all the time lol
I think it is time to pause the Bombi work and give the Wrecker some TLC. A few of the fixes that you have been talking about doing will make it unstoppable.
It needs a rack to carry spare drive shafts.
There are tons of off road recovery UA-cam channels. Yours is always full of interesting home made equipment. The best part of your channel is YOUR HUMILITY.
That one shot overhead made it look like a toy.

The drone is the best equipment MORR got in recent times. The ability to scout further ahead (or behind), and give another look to rescues is quite nice.
Matt, you weren't defeated, you made it back to the truck victorious! One of my favorite videos in a while.
Victory wasn't pretty this time, but still a victory in my books!

Victory pie was well deserved indeed
Definetly. Customer rescued, wrecker made it out under its own power. That's still a success in my book.

I love how Matt stops and explains the basics of living out west. I do love the arid climate for sure, I could never go back to the Midwest and live with humidity. It's terrible in both winter and summer. Ha
We Floridians envy those dry climates, though rain now and then is nice. 😊
I believe that it is a Ford that has come to your rescue. That makes me happy as a Ford person since the 1950s, although I still enjoy watching your GM products. Keep up the good work Gents.

Hey Matt, its not defeat, its overcoming obstacles! You guys just keep going till it's accomplished, with a good attitude, and a positive outlook!
Matt and team, your problem-solving, skills and adapting are always appreciated. 😅
Yup, when you don't do things right the 1st time your problem solving skillzzz are always gr8!
Problem No. 1. Unskilled customer trying to drive offroad🙂
Out of curiosity why did camera blur at 14:37 when showing the brush?
@Matt, I think you should make a flat tow bar to connect to your pintle and to the front of the towed vehicle while it's connected to the winches. This could avoid the towed vehicle rolling into this awesome wrecker.
There's nothing to hook it up to on most vehicles. And it would pivot side to side unless it's a triangle like on a tractor. They better put something like cushioning blocks on the back of the wrecker, like on the back of semi trailers for backing up to a ramp.
I have been your channel for quite a while and I am still amazed at the fact that this wrecker started up as a couple of steel tubing. Unbelievable!!!
Trail repairs are cool, those of us who don't have fancy tools or sometimes the right ones enjoy watching the professional having to fix equipment like we do. Keep wrenching, you seem to enjoy it
Sometimes things just go wrong, and sometimes multiple things go wrong. I enjoyed watching all of you figure it out and get everything out of there.
Thanks for bringing Tom back. A perfect compliment to your operation, always has been.
Good to see Eric back on the video. He seemed like a really cool guy hopefully get to see him more.
I were thinking the same and why drive out on that road, it look liked a dryed out riverbed
