Elegoo Neptune 3 (Is It Any Good?) - Unboxing, Setup, And Honest Review

- In this video I'll be unboxing, setting up, testing, and reviewing the Elegoo Neptune 3 FDM 3D printer. This is the newest FDM 3d printer available from Elegoo. This machine is very easy to put together and use and only takes 10 minutes to setup. It has a print size of 220 x 220 x 280mm and a 16 point leveling system. It also features a double gear extrusion system along with a magnetic removeable build plate and touch screen. I just got my Neptune 3 yesterday and did the Buddha test print, and it turned out flawless. No minor hiccups or anything. Anyhow I am very happy with it at the moment :)

what does that blue cable do?
In one of your early videos you used a grill to remove the PLA. I was just wondering How long did that take and is that a good idea because I don’t have the resources to ramp up the temp over a few hours yet and I really want to up my casting game.
Probably about 4 hours in the grill. It worked but it’s not the preferred method. It made a mess and I still cooked it in the oven for a few hours just to make sure all the moisture was removed

What filament do you like the best for casting?
Polycast seems to work great for me. It burns out cleanly 👍🏻

Does it smell when printing ? I’ve only used resin and I know they make odor
I have only used pla so far in it, but no odors…it’s set up in the office. It was such a great 1st printer experience a few days ago I just ordered another one and already have a tracking number. (220801)
Are there manual leveling knobs under or is it 100% auto?
There are no knobs but you can adjust via the settings
Can you wire the printer to a computer or is it just sd card
You can, it has a USB plug.
You said you had to manually level the bed? It was described on the website as auto leveling??????
there is a 16 points auto leveling but the z axis needs to be leveled i think at first?
It creates a 16pt mesh it uses to offset the print head as it goes…I find myself running the level before most jobs. You do have to set z offset with paper manually after, as the process pauses until you do so and hit the back arrow.
