    1 month with this printer. I print every day and it's very clean accurate and even with tiny mechanical parts. Incredible small printer. The hotend fan is noisy and you have to clean the noozle before ABL. There is a cura profile with the cura proposed on the sdcard. For the rest, completely agree with you. Great review ;)

    Fantastic production values here. Y'all rock!
    I always cut my filament at an angle, and ever since I figured that out, I've not had a problem with feeding. I'll do one cut at an angle that engages basically the entire cutting surface of my snips, and then I'll do a little relief cut on the opposite side.
    I initially didn't realize you could disengage the extruder gears, so I'd be trying to find the secret, magical angle to feed the spool-warped, curving filament at, so that it would go through the extruder for far, far, far....far... too long. I mean, it was stock, and folk do print stuff, so it must work somehow, right? But yeah, don't be a just-got-my-first-3D-printer Sam, and cut your filament at a steep angle.

    • @dianasharpe9484
      @dianasharpe9484 Рік тому

      This printer's filament sensor has a very stiff wheel that actually works better with a straight-across cut. Most printers do work better with an angled cut.

    • @samhughes1747
      @samhughes1747 Рік тому

      @@dianasharpe9484, hard to argue with that, but I would think you could roll it sideways, so it still has the same profile.
      That said, it’s frustrating when products are so weird to use that you just toss them to the side. Hopefully there are better designs out there.

    Tip for the filament detector with tpu…if you cut the tpu at a very long sharp angle you can use it like a wedge to get through, take a min to take a look into the hole where the filament goes to note where the opening is and align the end you snipped accordingly.

    The version of Cura that comes bundled on the SD card with the printer has a Neptune 3 profile on it. It's only v4.80 but still does a good enough job until I get around to porting it over to my 5.1.0 install.
    Received one of these last month and went straight out to pre-order two more which just arrived today. These are serious little workhorses and my first one was running 24/7 until I had a whoopsie with my hotend (which was totally my fault...sloppy nozzle swap). This brings me to a (hopefully short-lived) downside. As they're so new, there's not much in the way of spares out there. Sure the nozzles and extruder are standard but I can't find a hotend to switch in anywhere. The issue is the way it's mounted, two screws down through the top instead of front to back so that the strain gauge works. If anyone knows of a source of hotends out there that fit these (without a complete rebuild like the Wham Bam system), I'd be happy to hear of it.

    @MisterkeTube 2 роки тому

    I agree that this may be the king around $200, but still think an original Ender 3, now at $80 in some spots, is then the emperor of cheap printers. Sure, it is missing all those upgrades like ABL and filament-sensor and has noisy steppers and probably a dated board, but it's a steal at that price and the ideal to learn how to 3d print. If you just want to print without learning, then you have to go to a Bambu Labs X1, but are out of the "cheap" category (although I do think it is worth the price at this point). If you want to check out 3d printing without spending $$$, the $80 to try out whether it's for you (and then anyway moving to a core-xy or delta or ...) seems more logical to me then spending $200 on something that's still just a starter printer.

    • @somerandomperson8282
      @somerandomperson8282 Рік тому

      Sure it would be great to try 3DP with such a chearp printer, but assuming you do like it then you are likely going to be quickly upgrading that $80 Ender 3 after a very short time anyway so in the end its perhaps somewhat of a false economy.

    • @MisterkeTube
      @MisterkeTube Рік тому

      @@somerandomperson8282 No it isn't, because those upgrades again teach you how they work and how to improve them further. Just buying a printer with those things already in place just bypasses the learning and often also gives you something less open for further improvements. Ex. those newer printers often use extrusions with some sides flat, which might look neater, but removes options to attach stuff with T-nuts to that side of the extrusion ...

    I'll ask this politely because you and your brother have one of the most objective reviews on the platform. Do you ever have the urge to donate some of those printers you'll never use to a few libraries or after school programs. You obviously come from a wealthy family, so there are ones you can give away while they still work properly.

    You listed the PETG printing temp at 200 Celcius, is that an error, or did it actually print well at that temp?

      Just typo, PETG was printed at 230-235 / 85C.

    Will the Eryone spools fit in a Bambu Labs x1c AMS?
    I would like to buy 10 spools.
    If it does not fit is there an easy way to transfer it to a Bambu spool?

    • @AuroraTech
      @AuroraTech  2 роки тому

      I am using Eryone $13 PLA and $12 PETG on almost every printer including the BambuLab X1 AMS. In fact, the AMS fits most filament except for those non regular size spools.

      @@TestTest-eb8jr my point was that if the video only contained a voice over and the same information it would have been just as informative.
      If you were on the street and say similar things it would be taken as creepy, just because its stated online does not make it any more innocent.
      I'm not trying to be offensive or critical, and if you are a personal friend or family of hers, my apoligies! It would be considered normal and just peachy in that case.

    Nobody should waste thier money on a roller motion system at this price point in 2022... not when the kingroon can deliver a larger print bed and all linear rails on the KP5L for $250 (find a coupon) sure the kingroon isn't perfect but... the bad things about it are minor and or software related.
