Wow!! A Morris from the '60s!! The one that my father used to drive when he was single!! By the way... Great restoration, man!! All my admiration from Sevilla!! 🙂👍🇪🇸
Very fine restauration, Mate. And as long as you don't let KEVIN🐨 drive one of that five utes, they all will remain beautiful.... 😀 I'll keep my fingers crossed for each and everyone of us subscribers to be the lucky "WINNER" of one of these awesome models. Greetings to the entire worldwide MMM-Family from Cuxhaven, northern Germany. I hope you all had a "Happy Easter". 👍😁
That extra bump on the back might be the petrol cap. My first vehicle was a 1960 Morris J2 van, same style as these and the petrol port wasn't recessed in the bodywork like newer vehicles, but actually poked out a little bit. And... WINNER
Too late to be a winner-story of my life LOL, but I wanted to say what a great video as always. Because of you Marty I have dug out my old toys, bought some more and started trying to restore them. Its been a great learning curve and all down to this channel, thank you.
Winner yet another great video by the Matchbox God himself Marty! Hopefully you, your family, friends and Kevin are healthy during this global pandemic love Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦❤🙂
They look superb Marty. That is some commitment keeping the base intact to keep it as original as possible, and your efforts really paid off! You must be really pleased with the results.
WD40 have an extra range - one of which is a faster penetrating version. I've only used it on actual cars, but it definitely works better then the regular stuff.
While watching UA-cam after dinner, My young lad was such a big grinner, He gave me a hoy! I said what's up my boy? He said Marty is back, what a winner!!!
Another super restoration, great work. I’d love to be a WINNER, and if I was to win, I’d give it to my lad James, it would be the pride of his own Lesney collection.
“WINNER” My husband and I enjoy watching your restorations. The backdrop for your paintbox always makes us laugh, as does Kevin’s shenanigans. Thank you for doing what you do.
G'day Marty. My uncle had a real Commer van similar to this one, and I think the 'reversing light' on the back is the petrol filler cap. Keep up the good work. Am I a WINNER ?
Absolutely awesome. Got my Morris Pickup. Also got to meet Marty and Julie. So honoured and haven't stopped smiling. Keep up the awesome work and don't take any crap from Kevin. You're a champion.!!
hey Marty, has watched and enjoyed all your videos.....youtube just popped this one up 3 years later for some reason. On those rotary wire brushes?....It is a pain how they shed the bristles. But I discovered a fix (or at least a reduction for this) take some thin super glue and run it around the base (where the bristels meet the metal) Makes them last twice as long and will prevent flying bits
4:58 - Kudos to Clare Ravenwood for the paint stirrer. I also have one and it is invaluable. 22:50 - A big Texas-sized meow to Morty; he is certainly a WINNER.
I have both these variants As a collector do u restore all of them or like played with look To collectors original vs restored what fetches higher price? Love your videos to The over 200 or so lol that I have are all used well played with but some would look great restored do you charge to restore
Hi Trent, I believe that a genuine collector would pay more for a play worn original rather than a restored model. I am not in it for the money , all I want is one of each in as new condition for my my own collection. As for doing restos for others i have done some in the past but at this time I do not. I have a lot on my plate and cannot find the time to do any work at the moment.
Hey Marty lovely job, keeping us entertained during the lockdown here in UK. Always a pleasure to watch the restorations of the older models.... WINNER!
Everyone's a winner baby, that's no lie .... Love the colour. Did a Tamiya 66 Bettle in a similar shade - Bahama Blue (X2:10, X14:1, X15:1) - it's a very nostalgic colour.
Posting comment here as your most recent and more than likely won't be lost. Technique Trick. Raised White Letters (or any other raised surface)... Find an old butt. (Cigarette silly). Cut end off until it's like new. Dab fresh end in paint absorbing just a little and lightly apply to raised surface. My Boys and I used this technique on our Pinewood Derby cars. Made the wheels pop visually. L8R (0\_/0)
depending on the cost... of replacement...i'm thinking a little flux and solder might hold those wire brushes together...the flux SHOULD made the solder seep inside the wheel hub...just a thought
Marty, I thoroughly enjoy watching your videos, YOU are a WINNER in my book. Keep up the Great work from a true fan Jay, Port Orchard Washington, U.S.A.
I couldn't come up with a clever comment, so - WINNER !!! Btw I've been following your videos for a while, and I love what you're doing. Also, I hope you're keeping well during this coronavirus quarantine mess.
Are you co-coordinating your builds with fellow UA-camr, Mustie 1 ? He's just done a similar life size VW and Ford Econoline. In the early '60's Jeep also made a similar styled vehicle along with Chevrolet and Dodge. Keep up the good work, stay safe. Narragansett Bay
I am a "WINNER" every time I watch a Marty's Matchbox Makeover because I learn so much. You're so happy in your hobby it's infectious! Sanity and Sanitize! Have fun with your toys!
The Morris van you have just done was brought out when I was born in 1958.I would love to win one of your models Marty as a flash back to my youth. I have put "WINNER" in the comments as you suggested. It's a good idea to keep the old paint jars so you can keep the model match colour in. Love the videos. From Gary Co Durham England.
Every one's a *winner* Marty. As far as I remember, the softener is *meant* to go all wrinkly. The trick is to leave it be and it will sort itself out. Check UA-cam for Micrs-SET and Micro-SOL. Lovely work as always Marty, on one of my very favourite Matchboxes. Cheers for now, Dougie.
Hi Marty, thanks for bringing this old Morris PickUp model to it's former glory.I was very surprised to see one of my donated models in your video. Of course I would like to be a "WINNER" of a restored MMM model. Greetings from Germany
I don't know if you can get Aero Kroil in Australia, but I've always found it works far better on seized parts than WD-40 (and it does a bit of derusting along the way). (Edit: Why is everyone saying "winner"? Oh.)
If you don't have any luck with WD-40, try a product called "Inox". It's an Australian made product, and I have had a lot of success with it. As a product, it's a real "winner". It comes in a pressure pack just like WD40, but it's around double the price. I have found it to be the best product of its type on the market.
I'm glad you have this to keep you busy. Your choice of reading material "Killer's Ex Runs For Council" would be oh so concerning if you didn't have this wonderful hobby!
Picture of original from Morris. As mentioned below, the light thing on the back is actually the filler cap. www.flickr.com/photos/hugo90/2127268979/in/photostream/
I love your restorations, Marty! You're a pleasure to watch. I have model 60, with the rear window but it has gray wheels. Instead of using WD-40 to free rusted parts, if you can find any of them, try "PB Blaster," "Kroil," or even a home-made mix consisting of equal parts acetone and automatic transmission fluid. Be careful with the last one, as the acetone in the mix can eat some plastics. It also needs to be kept shaken-up. These are true penetrates that will free rusty parts. PB Blaster smells bad, so if you try it be forewarned, but it works well.
WINNER This would be an amazing souvenir for all the hours of MMM I've watched for the past couple years. What an amazing little model and a prime example the simplicity of Matchbox die-cast cars before they were forced to compete with Mattel's Hot Wheels line.
Those trucks came out looking like a WINNER! Very nice, and thanks for sharing. Love the videos...I'm always looking out for the next one. I had lots of matchbox when I was a kid in the early 60's and I always enjoy seeing your restoration on one that I remember playing with as a child.
Wonderful work Marty. Hopefully I can start to do similar work once I get other projects done first. My uncle had one of these Morris Utes back in the 70's and I can still remember traveling with him in it. These recreations certainly are a "WINNER".
Always been a big fan of the channel. I was quite impressed with the quality of paint Edges without separating the chassis. You definitely have another "WINNER"
Great video Marty, i only have one issue.. you got the two models mixed up, the red one with the gray wheels at the beginning had the rear-window, however you put the black wheels on the model with the rear window.. a small and minor mistake which didn't affect the quality of the content.. but just something to be mindful of. "WINNER"
I always enjoy your makeovers. There's something satisfying about being rescued from the category of hopeless. Cheers from Ohio in the U.S., and carry on.
If there is some contest of cute pick up trucks, this kind of Morris should be winner. So beautiful small pick up truck, great job as always 😎 Greetings from Finland!
Hi, Marty enjoyed this one you could consider using the tape they use for powder coating expensive but I think it is worth the price. Play Safe From Elliot Lake Ontario Canada.
As we say in America, "Winner, winner, chicken dinner!" (Don't ask me why we say that!) Once again, very nice work - I always enjoy my trips to Australia, seeing what you have in store for us - I don't even mind Kevin's antics!
@14:01 -- That news headline doesn't work for me. There are too many things going on the title page! They need to focus one sensational story or some juicy gossip. It's just too mish-mash today! Lovely UFO picture, though!
WINNER - and they are too - beauties! I have one of these still waiting to be finished. No decals and I ruined the wheels in so-called "safe" paint stripper, though I may be able to rescue them. Loved your Packard Victoria too!
WD40 really is shit for removing rust... It will do a fair job at preventing it, but I've never had it take any off. Plain ol white vinegar works pretty good, but if you can find it, a small jug of Evapo-rust works great, and would last you for months if not years. ...also, you should invest in a table top media blaster. It would make short work of that stubburn paint.
Hi Marty, great Makeover, the feature rear left is the filler cap. I had a Bedford CA which was similar. Mine had a home made 30 gallon tank. Great for holidays. Keep up the good work. Winner!
That's another winner video Marty, how about a "Kevin special" On the Building Site. Just a thought, perhaps a series of them with Kevin and friends lol.
Not to be a spoil sport, Marty, kudos on your endeavours which i like to follow to chill by; but as far as your paint mixing goes, it gives me the creeps. If you base your mix on white you cannot expect it to darken unless you dump a ton of your tinting tone in it and inevitably always end up with a truckload of extra paint. My advice is if you intend to mix up a batch of light blue, always start with the blue. If you were after the perfect shade to match an orig Matchbox hue, you've also got to watch out for your light source as this will significantly impact your perception of the resulting tone. There are special bulbs available that imitate natural daylight but remember that even with enough daylight in your work area this still reflects off trees and countertops, walls and everything so it is hardly ever "clean" too, so to speak. And for Pete's sake, take a bit of care of those hands, eh? You are going to need them some more... (gloves for some jobs?) Cheers from Prague!
Winner winner chicken dinner! Excellent as always Marty. I'm glad you use the silver ink as opposed to the chrome pens that others use and ruin matchbox models with. Love these little trucks. 😎

Nothing like a “winner” to help lift the spirits during Quarantine.
That restoration is a “winner” winner chicken dinner.
