The other tech I work with has had two this week with evaporators. Both he found with Bullseye leak detector. The one on Monday had oil spots all over it. The one today the customer already had condenser done last year from dealer. Customer is going to try and have dealer pay for evap core.

I worked in service at a honda dealership, and every honda began leaking refrigerant from just about any component after r1234yf was introduced. The toyota dealer next door even contacted us to ask if we were having refrigerant leaks. The toyota dealer told us they were experiencing the same problem. R1234yf is decomposing seals.

EVERYONE WITH HONDA A/C ISSUES PLEASE MAKE A COMPLAINT TO HONDA. They said there aren’t enough complaints for a recall. I’m almost 4 wks and $3,000 in, and that is with them covering the condenser under “good will”. It is not good will when they know the leak will ruin the whole system. ‘16-‘18 Civics and some CRVs have the issue.

We own a 2020 Sport with the 2 liter, At idle I can hear when the Compressor is on, But have to be standing outside to hear it, Outside next to the right front at least, To me that's normal but maybe yours changed in sound since new, Just my observation as a owner especially when it's really Hot out, Also at first I thought I maybe wouldn't like the performance of this new YF freon, But driving Yesterday in over 80⁰f temps I had to set it above 65⁰f as it was too cold once the humidity was gone, I guess it's not a bad problem to have 😁 .

I’d love to be able to remove the lines going to the expansion valve and only change the o rings. Whenever those O rings start to leak, we replace the lines. The parts are less than $110 and it comes with the o rings. I’ve seen so many times the leak is caused by corrosion and 50% of the time the lines will break off in the expansion valve.

@@BCautosolutions update: it was both my condenser and compressor shaft seal and the dealership fixed it with zero charge. I wish I would’ve known about the warranty sooner because my ac has been blowing hot air for like 2 years but overall I’m lucky the issues didn’t affect other parts of my vehicle

No wander their quality go downhill after 2016. Engine problem AC problem CVT some have it. I think Honda is dead after 2016.
