He is giving the wrong message by tell people its o.k. to charge a leaking a/c system. 134-R damages the ozone and the system needs to be drained by a certified technician, repaired and filled. These boosters do not last if there is a leak. Take it to a professional.

My Dad and I are so thankful to have come across your video. With the heat changing so drastically I had been having to go through 1 to 2 hours of traffic for work with no AC at up to 98 to almost over 100 degrees. We are so happy to finally know how to do it 😊 Your video is amazing!
arno maas DONT USE THIS. If you use it and you then want to get your ac serviced by a shop you will ruin their ac machine wich costs around 5000dollar. And they might actually make you pay for that. Just get a shop to fill it with fluorescent fluid added and then after its going low again you go to the shop again and they use an uv light to look for traces of the fluorescent fluid and they will find the leak really fast.
bob rosco Thank you for your warning! Since I have got controversial info on the product ,I will check with my local shop for the case they may have a guideline for such products.
The AC Pro Kit bottle should have a label on it “this video is required viewing before using this product”! Thank you for explaining the details like high vs low ports, where to find them, what the arrows on the bottle mean and how to read them, and how the temperature outside plays a roll. Several other videos just assume you know these details or can’t explain them effectively. It’s videos like this that help people like me who can do the work with a detailed step by step process explanation and demonstration. Awesome, thank you!
Because this isn’t the right way. At the very least you need manifold gauges so you can see the high pressure side. He shows the right way in a newer video where he has replaced the compressor. Without seeing the high side you have no idea what it’s doing. The low side could look ok but the high is going way too high because of another problem in the system.
@@DVeck89 I am not a mechanic. I don't want to be. I want the quick, most-common fix to save money. I can go to THD and get a can of this stuff and do this myself. I'm not going to buy gauges, other manifold do-hickies, etc. for seeing the high side. Maybe I should care about it -- but I don't. I just want my air conditioner to get me through this next Texas summer. This should do it. Chris is alright in my book.
@@DortuAirCond_ACmobil I didn't dislike the video, but I do have an issue with him not purging the air out of the line before attaching it to the ac line.
The AC in my used 2011 Honda Civic has never worked well. I live in Florida. This year, the summer has been brutal with temperatures up towards 100, and humidity in the 70 to 80% range. When I say your instructions are a life saver, I mean literally, you are fixing such a massive hole in my current form of transportation. Thank you for your video!
Hey guys my e46s ac compressor isnt working i refilled the lines with refrigerant (Artic Freeze 134a), checked fuses and compressor never spun any ideas on what might be the issue im thinking its the actual compressor. Any ideas? Thank you.
Guadalupe Soto Jr yea bro its probably your compressor if its not turning on. Put a hot wire to the positive leads to see if you can jump the compressor.
Magnets in the front of the compressor clutch maybe out of tolerance so it cannot engage also check power is getting to the clutch unit and the compressor isn't seized up, other causes could be a leak in the system if it's not holding pressure.. :) Gl bud.
Thanks Chris! I suck at working on cars. I have fixed a lot by just watching your videos. Your videos are way better than most. Keep up the great work.

As someone who's worked at a dealership, I absolutely love the fact that you mentioned how it something isn't working it might just be related to the same thing. Most places would capitalize on that and charge you an arm and a leg for the "repairs" on something that has nothing wrong with it.
Criss I could hug you rite now! I just successfully avoided be over charged by charging my own Ac. Thanks to you this lady is winning right now. 😘 It's feeling chilly in here
Mr. Chris; Thanks for all the videos, you are a great example on how to properly make videos showing folks out there like myself how to re-fill AC system. Again, thanks Respectfully; Andy
I’m a total numbnut when it comes to anything mechanical but just did this for my 2007 Subaru which hasn’t had AC working for over a year. Worked instantly; blowing crazy cold. Thank you!!
i am a retired 76 year old diy car owner .. the aircon on my 2008 Citroen C5 is not very cold . the local garage owner is not willing to pay for a certificate to store the refrigerant . after watching your Video I am more than happy to obtain a diy kit like you demonstrated . .The lower temperature was impressive .. drive defensively .
Thank you Chris. Your AC video allowed me to fix the AC in my 22 year old Dodge Dakota pickup. One thing I want to add here is when I first hooked up the AC bottle and pressure gauge to the AC port under the hood, the gauge was fluctuating wildly between the white low pressure range to the red over-charge range. I also noticed the AC clutch was kicking on and off every 20 seconds - which was causing the gauge to fluctuate. I was confused by the gauge behavior and I was worried the problem might be too much refrigerant in the system instead of not enough refrigerant in the system. I know too much refrigerant can seriously damage the system, so for a while I didn't know what to do. But I finally concluded there is no way there is too much refrigerant in the AC system because the AC has never been recharged in 22 years. So I forged ahead adding refrigerant as per Chris' instructions. The gauge gradually stopped fluctuating and stayed in the low pressure range, and as I kept adding refrigerant the gauge gradually moved up into the green normal area and the AC clutch stopped kicking on and off every 20 seconds. The AC now works good as new and blows much cold air. Chris should run for president.
@@ambitionfilms5999 About one year has gone by since I added the refrigerant to my 22 year old truck's a/c system as per Chris' video, and the a/c is still working very well - if there was a leak somewhere in the a/c system, the sealant in the refrigerant seems to have stopped the leak. I did not 'vacuum the system'.
This is what I needed to read. I have AC manifolds and I was getting these exact readings and I have my hesitationsm. My car is a 2001 Ford Mustang that I never had the AC recharged or serviced. Compared to other cars we have, the AC in my 2001 Ford Mustang barely gets cold...or it takes forever to get to a comfortable range. Thank you for this comment!

@@carolyoung3444 26 just now. Different, but highly rated type. Btw, if I just bought a car and it needed coolant, I'd be back over there in a second. Get a battery charger. Clip red to red side, black to the bolt that's right there and not connected to anything else (that's why it's there, as a ground, don't use the black terminal, it can make the process more dangerous.) Then, plug it into the wall after those are clipped securely. It should shut off on its own after up to 8 hours or as few as 3. Nice to have more than one, too. A portable jump starter one with power plugs is nice if you're not at home. You want the 50 amps. 100 amps is for jump starting. Don't do that unless you have to. With less than 50 amps, it'll take forever. That's for smaller things like motorcycles or lawn mowers. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. When finished, carefully unplug from wall first, then take the clips off in the right order. Do NOT touch them to each other or anything metal. They WILL spark. You don't want that.

This video was SO easy to follow, with the step by step instructions, that even I, a 45 yo single mom was able to recharge my A/C saving me hundreds!! Now I can stop melting in this Chicago heat, I can't thank you enough.
There are so many videos on how to fix cars, but I gotta admit, your videos are the best. Clear and concise, very straightforward to the point, and uplifting positive energy that comes from you. Thank you and keep up the great content!
You rock! My wife just asked me to do this and now I can do it with confidence. Thanks Mr.Fix.
Did you tell her you just watched a YT video?

Unfortunately, A/C systems are more complex than just filling the refrigerant. There's a reason the refridgerant is low
Chris, you are helping a lot of people. It's obvious you put a lot of effort in these tutorials. You have my thanks!

@@chrisfix What do I do if I have a clog in my A/C system?
ChrisFix oo
He is giving the wrong message by tell people its o.k. to charge a leaking a/c system. 134-R damages the ozone and the system needs to be drained by a certified technician, repaired and filled. These boosters do not last if there is a leak. Take it to a professional.
My son is a toddler and loves your videos, he already knows the exact steps to change a tire. I bought him a toy kit because he actually grabbed my tire iron once and tried to take off the lugs nuts, lol Your instructional videos have saved me thousands of $$$!!! I am based in the same area as you, we’ve probably passed each other in ShopRite, lol Your videos have taught me how to fix almost everything on my own vehicles! That’s priceless and I am super grateful!
This has to be the best car tutorial I’ve found on UA-cam.
So true!!
Your tutorial was so easy to follow and clear, I managed to repair the A/C in my son's car.
You did a good tutorial. I saved money by not taking my car to the repairman.
Excellent video. Thanks a lot.
Excellent video! I've been working on cars for 20+ years mostly maintenance and small repairs. This is the first time I have had to recharge A/C refrigerant. I found your walk-thru clear and on point w/out all the filler talk. Your vid is helpful and doesn't waste time. Love it. God Bless. Keep up the great work.

Hola hermano
Thank you so much. I'm a 62 year old female and did this.😀 I haven't had a/c all summer and decided to check UA-cam and do it myself. I came across your channel and followed it to a tee. I'm very proud of myself. Thank you again, you saved me from the Florida summer.
Did it work?
My Dad and I are so thankful to have come across your video. With the heat changing so drastically I had been having to go through 1 to 2 hours of traffic for work with no AC at up to 98 to almost over 100 degrees. We are so happy to finally know how to do it 😊 Your video is amazing!
Glad the video was helpful

I used this exact product on my car. I have a tiny compressor seal leak, so a charge lasts 2 years. AC Pro is no joke! My air is ICE cold!
aquateen77723 Yea, it is pretty good stuff! I was impressed!
I went to an auto school and what I was told you you shouldn't use any of that stuff that has sealant in it

arno maas DONT USE THIS.
How can this have more than 2k dislikes. The way he explained it was so professional and easy to follow. He deserves my subscription and like!

Guadalupe Soto Jr if you cant get power to it you are going to want to replace ot
Magnets in the front of the compressor clutch maybe out of tolerance so it cannot engage also check power is getting to the clutch unit and the compressor isn't seized up, other causes could be a leak in the system if it's not holding pressure.. :) Gl bud.

You are a great teacher/explainer. The rest of UA-cam could learn from your methods of explaining and camera work. Excellent video!!

I’m a total numbnut when it comes to anything mechanical but just did this for my 2007 Subaru which hasn’t had AC working for over a year. Worked instantly; blowing crazy cold. Thank you!!
Dude, I just recharged my A/C after I watched this video. Thank you!
I know how to charge my AC, so I know how good that video was.

i am a retired 76 year old diy car owner .. the aircon on my 2008 Citroen C5 is not very cold . the local garage owner is not willing to pay for a certificate to store the refrigerant . after watching your Video I am more than happy to obtain a diy kit like you demonstrated . .The lower temperature was impressive .. drive defensively .
Thank You so much. I am a 66 year old woman and was able to successfully recharge my system thanks to this great video.
You're the man
How is your ac now, I was told not to put this in my car and to do it properly by vacuuming the system
This is so comprehensive! This makes me much more confident doing this just having the knowledge of how to identify parts in different cars, how the system flows and what exactly to do. It's a crash course and instructions in one. Perfect! Thank you!

I barely know anything about what goes on under the hood, but when I Googled for AC charging prices I couldn't help but think: "Is this something I can do?" Chris, your explanations are so clear that even a 65yr. old beginner like me can figure this out. This video (which includes TWO examples) is very much appreciated!!
A lot of videos on UA-cam tell you to charge it when the vehicle is off. The directions on the can said the same. I couldn’t release any refrigerant with the vehicle off. I started the vehicle up and with the compressor running I was able to release the refrigerant. This is the only video that I’ve seen it being done with the vehicle running. Great video.

So again, thank you!
last year it was $23 in Walmart.
@@carolyoung3444 26 just now. Different, but highly rated type.
Btw, if I just bought a car and it needed coolant, I'd be back over there in a second.
Get a battery charger. Clip red to red side, black to the bolt that's right there and not connected to anything else (that's why it's there, as a ground, don't use the black terminal, it can make the process more dangerous.)
Then, plug it into the wall after those are clipped securely.
Awesome video and I love it how you explain entire 9 yard. I dislike it when people make video and explain it with half ass information...
