- In this episode I take a look at the Holystone HS720E. In some ways it is very similar to the MJXRC Bugs 20 EIS, except the Holystone has foldable arms and props which makes it more portable. Got one and right out of the box the one arm would loose connection. Called Holy Stone and no hassles just sent a pic. of the problem and they sent me a new one with in 3 days. Good company to deal with. They stood behind their product.
I just went thru the book again the gyro cal. is not in there. The flight today was a little squirrelly will have to try the gyro cal. on the next flight. Thanks for the tip.

@@captlarry-3525 Had to deal with Fimi that was the opposite, big hassle I was lucky that the company who sold it to me had the part it in stock, It was a know problem with the remote.
Same deal, well kinda, mine lost signal during flight and flew away, emailed HS, and replacement drone was at my door three days later, unbelievable

@@backwheelbell IT takes nice pictures, my only complain is the range, factory claims 999 metters but the max I get is 200 metters I have adjusted the range on the control also to no avail. I woulb be ok if I could go at least 500 , I used the Ophelia app at first and I am using the M RC PRO, bit still on an Open field no more than 200.

I've never had a drone before but I've been looking at them a lot over the past 6 months and even though I want an EVO II, that looks like a really nice starter drone. I love your channel Cap, very informative and you're about as real as a guy can get.
Great video. I was looking at a DJI Mini 2, pulled the trigger on the HS720E instead. Very pleased. Super easy to operate, stable, easy, safe. Only thing I absolute hate is the charger. HS should have made a more beefy charger that holds the batteries better, lick drop in/ lock. Video is amazing quality.
Why would you choose the Holystone over the Mini 2? Mini 2 is better in every way other than the stupid geofencing DJI implements?

Some differences between the HS720E and the original HS720:
Is heavier than the HS720.
Has a three minute shorter flight time per battery than the HS720.
Comes with two batteries compared to the one battery of the HS720.
Has a new improved camera compared to the HS720.
May have better image stabilization compared to the HS720.
Can take a 128GB SD card compared to the HS720 32GB limit.
a lot of people really suck at doing drone reviews. I even saw one guy who weighed the controller to demonstrate its quality... however you got straight to the point with out going too overboard on the dumb stuff. out of the 10 or so videos I watched this evening yours was the best. thanks.

I purchased this drone following your review, the first one failed big time during flight. Holy Stone customer service is excellent and they sent out a new drone. The Ophelia Go app also had some serious issues at the beginning of the year but that is all sorted now. I am now a product tester for them, which is really cool.
What issues did your first one have?
@@readygroup5107 The camera had a fault but the main problem was it decided to to try and fly away ( common fault with Holystone now) finally flipped over and fell out of the sky from 20m onto hard ground. The second one now has has a GPS issue after 35 flights so have given up on Holystone now.

This review was the reason I bought the HS720E and I have not been disappointed. I love it. I have made a modification to the charging setup to cut down on charging time (1 hour) so that I am charging and soring my batteries with my RC car charger which works great. Thanks for the review and helping me decide.

The Holystone HS720E is $289.00 USD and comes with 2 batteries. Now apply the 25% discount and the HS720E is now $246.00 USD. Definitely NOT the same price.
@@gimpman1357 Absolutely agree with you sir. I would definitely spend the extra money on a mini, even if I did not have it. I would find a way to find that extra cash! Now for those just getting started in the hobby that really do not want to fork out $400 to $500 for a drone, especially now here in the US with the FAA secretly plotting the demise of the recreational drone pilot with new and upcoming rules, the HS720E is a great buy.
Ummm, no it’s not there are 2 and 3 axis gimbal drones with the same features as this and some have better cameras. So no this is not even close to being the best budget drone, I rather pay the extra money for a mavic mini at this point.

A quick tip for any hs720e users. Use manual white balance and it makes the footage look much better. If on auto it tends to look more washed out.

I just want to say that I stumbled into one of your videos while doing research on which drone to buy and since it is my first drone I wanted a reliable one that would take good video and wouldn’t break the bank... I am so happy that I landed here! (no pun intended?) You Sir have the best drone videos by far, the way you explain things it makes me feel like if I was there building and playing with the drone. Your videos are fun and when they end I always ask myself “maybe there is a sequel?” I just don’t want to stop watching. I was a bit confused before bumping to your channel since I was trying to decide between the Holy Stone HS720E and the Ruko F11 Pro and to me they’re pretty similar but after watching your videos I decided to go with the HS720E hopefully I made a good decision. Another great video as always, this drone appears to fly great and video is good. So good in fact at about 13:30 you got a great shot of a near miss with what looks like a RC Corsair or Wildcat!
Outstanding video captain I received mine the other day and I’m completely satisfied with it very solid Drone lots of great features and the video image stabilization is awesome I’m looking forward to some great flight time with this new flagship drone from Holystone
Haven't flown my old HS7010 drone since last year. It was my first budget drone before my Evo1. I did have lots of fun with it and for the most part it was reliable. I did have a few issues with the remote display. I will say that their customer service was ok. I had to send many pics of the problem before they sent me a new remote. Like many other low end drones. The customer service will drive you crazy hoping you will give up. I didn't. They finally sent me that new remote. Still for the price of the HS720E is a good buy for a fixed camera drone.
I just bought the original 2K HS720 based on your great review of that drone. This improved version at this wonderful price is killing me! That tripod mode...wow!!
Always impressed by the electronic stabilized video of these drones. Looks smoother than my two axis gimbal SG906 Pro video. Good video

I got a HS720E for Christmas, I was so excited. I watched a UA-cam video and I was ready to fly.
When I finished calibration I accidentally clicked launch. I tried to lower it but I ran it into the wall and ruined my propellers. I instantly replaced them and tried it would not fly. I was so sad. But my brother decided to check it out. Apparently each propeller had a specific spot when I fixed that now I am ready to fly.
I have wanted a drone for so long and was considering a Mavic Mini 2 but found it hard to justify the $700 plus price tag for the fly more combo especially as I’ve never owned a drone before. I just picked one of these up for $287 CDN, It was on sale and I had a $20 Amazon gift voucher. I’m pretty excited for when it arrives in a couple of days. Now need to study for my license lol.

@@sueandstudavidson5985 I ended up buying the HS720G, which is basically the same drone just a newer model (2 axis camera, lighter weight, no landing light). But it was very easy to connect and really not that difficult to fly. Certainly was worth the money for me

Wife got this for my Christmas gift as well. Never had flown or even come close to operating a drone before. Setup was OK, a little nerve racking, but finally got up to trying it out today. In a semi wooded area so just did basic maneuvers and functions. I must admit, it will take more time to be "comfortable" but without having seen your review(s) it would've been a lot worse. Video function is very good as well. Wife was impressed too! Thanks so much for the lesson(s) and I'll be sure to continue watching. For the price, this is a very good drone!

Granted, it isn't the *BEST* drone that you can get, but if you can get over how slow it is in 'Tripod Mode', I think you will thoroughly enjoy it!!! 😃🔥😃
Hi Steve, thank you for the excellent review of the HH720E drone. I have the original HS720 drone that you reviewed 10/2020. The original HS720 is advertised to have image stabilization. The difference between both these HS720 and HS720E is that the hS720E has a new Sony camera. Thank you for supplying a money saving coupon to buy the HS720E for lower cost.
Great video, as always. I have owned hs 720 (without "e"), it's actually very good drone. You done a review of that one also. I sold it over dji mm, main reason was camera (no gimbal). I see that "e" version is much better in stability of video but of course it can't compare with gimbal camera. But for the budget, it's a great drone. I love al the "follow" function that offers and is really a shame for dji mini that doesn't have all that

Awesome Cap! Holy Stone really did a remarkable job with the new version of the HS720 (now HS720E) Apart from its super sleek design, the EIS tech they added to the camera takes it up a notch when it comes to the market of budget drones. The price however, is a bit too high at the moment. Hopefully they’ll lower it down a little and make it much more affordable for those with lower budgets.

@@EmmanuelFernandoSIbay Yeah I saw something zip by real fast so I went back and played in slo-mo (1/4 speed) to see what it was. First guess was a bird, but after slowing it down I could see it was an RC plane. I'm pretty sure you're right about it being a Corsair. I own the HS720E and its awesome, has great handling and camera works great. A guy made a utube video of his drone that fell in the lake and couldnt find it for 2 weeks, he swapped the batterie and it was good to go.
Camera and stabilization is really good, this would make a good upgrade of my Zen K1.

This was a great review. You explained a lot of the features very well and made it very simple to understand. I purchased this drone last week and like it a lot. One issue that I have been experiencing and I am wondering if you had experienced the same issue is the Wifi range. On my phone I am getting about 150m before my phone loses signal with the drone and the Wifi feed stops. Once again, great video.
WIFI range depends on the type of phone (if it has good wifi and where the antennas in the phone are located) and where you fly. Also, if you have a case on the phone, remove it.

And Holy Stone was my first 6 drones. I still have them all. The HS100 is my best Holy Stone drone and has a rock solid GPS and it has been reliable, but when I was wanting to upgrade i could not justify spending that kind of money on a Holy Stone drone when the Mavic Mini was only $100 more and I am very glad I bought the Mavic. Now I have 4 DJI drones LOL, but I am not knocking Holy Stone. I just question the reliability. I was a member of a couple of their on line groups and just heard one story after another about this HS720 just flying away, losing connection constantly, and just crashing into objects out of control.
The HS100 is a great beginner drone for cheap. The camera sucks, but the drone flies great and it always comes home. I don't even use my phone to fly it. I mount an old cell phone to it and hit record before I take off line of sight LOL. The camera broke anyway. You do NOT need the phone to fly the HS100 or the HS270 and if you get lost just hit the RTH button. It won't go far trust me.
I will say one thing about Holy Stone that is very important. Their customer service is awesome. That alone makes a great beginner drone.

For about the same price I would go for the Zeno with a 3-axis gimbal (or the Mavic Mini). The Bugs 20 EIS is less expensive.
The biggest question is which one captures+ contains more data for the best footage between these two? The b20 or 720e? Maybe only be a hundred bucks more than Zino pro or a dji mavic mini but some just don't have thar extra $100. Perhaps they just like a drone that doesn't decide if it will fly at all or not, these do what you tell them to when you tell them to.. for the most part anyhow 🤣. Dji can just tell you no, for your safety and others of course.. Hopefully captain does a shootout between this and the b20 for imagine comparison and value. Happy flying.

Impressive improvements from the original HS720. Olks like the have improved on build quality and the app interface. Do happy to see they improved on customer's request. Thumbs up on the video.

The crooked axis drives me crazy but for the price I'm still pretty impressed.
This is my first drone my son got it for me for Christmas. I have been flying RC airplanes for years so will see how it goes.
