With the Steve Miller Band for their first two albums, Boz Scaggs carved out an inimitable niche for himself and soared on his own with many hits starting in the 70's.
This great tune is from the Urban Cowboy soundtrack, and one of my favorites. A fabulous concert from 2004, and a must own for any true Scaggs fan.

The piano man is a master, the front guitar player is fantastic, the backup singers are in a league of their own, the cameramen work was sharp, and Mr. Boz Scaggs is simply a legend, his voice is so pure. I dare to say this is the best live performance I have ever seen. In my opinion, everything was perfect.

To all fans of Boz Scags: I wish he was younger so that he'd be with us for a lot longer and I wish I was younger too so that my memories of these beautiful ballads were not so far back in my own life.

This is a song that hits you whole. Not just hearing, this song swells up in your chest, pulls you in, and brings tears to your eyes. I was a college student, working at a 7/11 into the early hours of the morning. This song made me feel less alone. It still does.

He also invited so many talented people to be with him knowing that it could only make the music better. No they're not on this (I don't believe) but the Porcaro brothers from Toto for Lido Shuffle and others. :)

I recorded his album before I could afford to buy it, and I had a burglar stole all my tapes without even knowing what was on them. But later, when I could afford it, I bought his album again. The best in my favorite forever. And I also love, the songs that he made for urban cowboy that is also one of my favorite movies.

This is the MOST BEAUTIFUL SONG Ever WRITTEN and SUNG.
Scaggs has had some catchy-but-pedestrian hits (Lowdown, Lido, etc.), but then he comes out with stunning masterpieces like Harbor Lights and Look What You've Done To Me and You Can Have Me Any Time and We're All Alone... the guy is a true genius.
this is a real love song.. Boz is so full of soul he fills the grand canyon with it... im jealous that he gets to sing this song every night... it's incredible there are zero artists like this ... none... can compare with this talent.

Brilliant. I’m watching this collection of world class musicians while at the same time visualizing Bud and Sissy on the dance floor at Gilley’s. There are songs and movie scenes mixed together that you will remember for the rest of your life. This is Exhibit A. Thank you Boz and the original musicians on his great album like the late Jeff Porcaro as well as these performers who manage to re-create this beautiful song perfectly. Bravo!

Fan of Boz Scaggs since Silk Degrees in 1976 and a bigger fan after Urban Cowboy when this song was a big part of the movie ( my opinion). Was finally able to him in concert in 2014 and the only disappointment was he didn't perform this song. Voice, music, talent as it was if not better than 1976. Timeless.

I have loved this song since it was first released. I literally wore out the LP. He has such a smoky but silky voice. Definately one of the great love songs ever. Still listening in 2019.

Brings me back to a time when I let love slip through my fingers because I had to leave home or continue being abused. I will always wonder about you boy I met at Hopeville pond state park on campsite E-15 in Ct. in 1977. One amazing kiss led to a life time of wishing.

@@mofnn24 Not positive but I think on that tour it was Paul Nagel. Boz likes to change musicians fairly regularly not because of any disagreements but because a new musician brings all kinds of their own style, freshness etc.

I’ve always loved this beautiful song but this live version is even more beautiful than the original recording. Remarkable considering the number of years that have passed between then and the time of this performance. This song brings back a flood of wonderful memories of romantic moments in my life. It’s almost hauntingly beautiful. I find myself singing it around the house lately and then I just have to hear it again.....and again.... and again.
