How do I repair my damaged LED strip lights? Dry solder joint repair

- We often get asked how to repair your LED strip lights. Well, there are a number of ways to repair your LED strip lights and a number of reasons for them being faulty.
In this video we take a look at an LED strip that is faulty due to a 'dry solder joint' or otherwise known as a loose or bad connection.
The solder is not connecting as it should for the green LED lights so any lights after this bad connection are not working.
In this video we show how to resolve this issue with solder, which is the best solution to resolve this issue, BUT we ubderstand that not everyone can solder / has the solder equipment to hand / can remove the strip from its location etc etc etc
So in that case you may need to use connectors instead. These are solderless connectors where you can cut the LED strip and attached leads, join peices etc etc with the connectors

I don’t have the iron so I just pressed down on every joint in the leds until I found the one that wasn’t working and after one touch it went back to normal 😁 I didn’t do anything with my leds tho when I turned it on in the night it was glitched so if you guys did anything crazy with it this method might not work
I did this and I found the place but when I stop touching it shuts back off

Omg this helped so much my led light where always half broken and it was so annoying but now they finally are fully working
What did you do to fix it
So half of my red lights wasn’t working so I looked at the end of my lights where it wasn’t working and then moved it around a little bit till all of them started to work then I held it there and taped it hoped that helped😊

I was putting my led strips up and every 30 minutes i was turning it on to check to see if it worked and how it looks for a few seconds, then at one point the lights got twisted so much and when i tried to turn it on after the whole thing isn’t working anymore
mine literally is half way working what i mean is the brightness is super low but it still turns on tho how can u fix it?
how can i fix if the led strip is so thin and the connection is a thin copper.
It was too difficult for me to do this,so l cut it carefully and i kept the small piece that was working and i recycled the other one that was off.I put the small piece that i got in a corner to give some lighting.Next week i will get a new one and be more carefull this time

what if your leds are covered with this sprt of rubber? Can you still fix it then?
Yes that is possible, you would have to cut it in the middle just until you reach the silver parts. Don't cut it all the way ofcourse.. slightly pull the rubber off just enough for the workspace.
My problem is that when I turn it on , some parts of my led light has different coulor than other parts. How can I fix it?

i’ve had a problem with mine for awhile i changed the battery in the remote but it won’t work? my led’s are plugged on but when i try to use the remote to change to other colours it stays on green, trying to turn it off with the remote it stays green and trying to turn it on its still green?? so i’ve just turned them off completely on the wall, it’s not the same problem as the colour stops before it reaches the end

So my led lights when i turn them off they are dark blue as if they are on when they aren't. they also change to this colour when i turn down the brightness of them and i can only use 2 colours on the remote for some odd reason?? My LED strip splits into 3 sections, first section blue green and red work, second section only red and green work and third section only green works. One half of the strip lights up only when held at a certain angle. How can i fix this?

i had an issue with my 5050 led stripe, when i got it was everything fine but suddenly 1 week after the red color was stuck, even it shows full red color when i turn the led stripe off, the only thing i can do to power it off is unplug it from the outlet
hi some of the red colour isnt showing in 4 of the mini lights, so when i press pink for example the whole thing is pink exept from those 4 which are blue since theres no red to make them pink if that makes sense, how do i fix it?

my LED’s are a different brand but i’ve had them for like over a month. suddenly the remote stopped working then started working again. then only a bit of the lights worked and they won’t go back to normal. all of the colors are like this. i don’t know what to do

Uhhhh... maybe next time spend a lil more time explaining how to solder. Did you not use flux? What type of solder wire did you use? What the hell does dry soldering mean? And how is it different from wet soldering? People who watch a video entitled "how to solder blah blah blah" probably dont know how to solder blah blah blah.
