YEA BRO
You made it sound like he's dying :O
@@itayraviv2422 LOL, probably Marc is just very busy..
@@itayraviv2422 btw aren't we all dying, slowly or soon 😅
Marc: "Drawing a human head is probably one of the most challenging things..."
Hands: Am I a joke to you?
LIke, yeah.. hands are a pain, but it's much easier to obscure, hide or completely omit hands, without making it too much of an eyesore, than it is to omit a head when drawing at least the entire upper body.
Hands are easy for me, but feet....

i never drew a perfect head until i drew along with you watching this video 😭😭 thank you sm
🤩
Sameeee my drawings were always wonkyyy. I never knew this is how you draw proportional heads.
@@pandabear-gc7zssame
him: *draws perfect circle*
me: *struggles for 10 minutes*
the struggle is real
circle's are not that hard (no hate)
Poor you
tbh you can just sketch the circle 😭 i spent so long fucking up my heads because i was trying to do it all in one go
I've been practicing circles like tons of pages.. repeating and repeating over the same and with different sizes .. still sometimes my circle looks like shit but still it's manageable with the practicing
So good for beginners. I know I'm watching this one year after but wow!
I was struggling with many of the other videos because they never stressed the importance of the proportions of the oval. As soon as I learned that it has to be 2/3 the hight of the sphere and equidistance from the symmetry line, I saw an instant improvement. Thank you.
I haven't drawn in over 12 years, and just started using a simple Wacom tablet. These tutorials have been so incredibly helpful for trying to get back into it after so many years.
I've still have a long way to go, but I'm having fun with art again.
Thank you.
Same. A close friend of mine from High School has been on my case about getting back into my art. I've found Marc's vids entertaining and informative. It's my first time using the pen and tablet, it's a bit intimidating and all my circles look like teardrops but I'm gonna try to make a go of it
Same here as well. One of the hardest things STILL is finding a proper position for my hands and elbows. I try to place my hands how I would if I were simply drawing on a piece of paper, but it doesn't work because I usually hold the paper in an angle and shift it around depending on what I'm drawing on it. Immediately after I lift my gaze up on the screen, it feels weird how I'm handling the tablet.
I tried those drawing tablets with a screen on them but it didn't work. The pen cursor was like a two centimeters off, the resolution was like shit both in my pc and in the tablet screen. Just, no... not my thing. Maybe if I found the right one but I haven't the money to buy multiple devices to try them on.
Also I've been drawing faces a lot and starting to get decent at it, I have spent last year trying to draw faces from different angles, only to realize NOW that drawing a face from the front is the hardest thing ever. It just isn't symmetrical. All my faces look like they suffered from a stroke!
I could use tools or grids and rulers but I don't like that either because then it looks too symmetrical. It doesn't look realistic, or interesting. Or even beautiful. It just looks like a robot face.
I appreciate these longer videos that I can draw along with
Out of my 4-5 years of drawing, I have only ever been able to draw forward-facing profiles. I tried so many tutorials and tips for drawing other head angles and I never understood. It has always been something that blocked me from improving my art skill. Today, after not drawing for awhile, I stumbled across this video. It makes so much sense to me!! It's simple, but in the way, I understand what each line and shape is for- It makes me so confident in approaching different head angles that used to be way out of my comfort zone. I have NO CLUE what I'd do without this video. Thank you so much. Absolutely life-changing.
Your entire channel is basically free therapy for me lmao
This is the only video that cleared all my doubts on internet.
Yeah you're right

This was a nice refresher on how to draw the head and the landmarks of the features. Thank you, Marc!
i keep going back on this video whenever i feel like being lost in doing the basics. i'm truly grateful for all of your videos marc you were such a huge help to us developing artists!
I can't thank you enough Marc, these have tremendously helped me in learning the craft.
I agree with many of the other posters. There were a few simple instructions you placed in this video that almost every other artist skipped. It helped me draw heads in various positions much quicker and with a bit more accuracy.
This is the greatest art channel in existence! Thank you so much, you have inspired to get into digital art as a hobby
Finally a video teaching the Loomis method that’s not overcomplicated or oversimplified. Amazing.
Great tutorial, explained very well. Helped me out a lot. THANK YOU!
this is probably the most in depth and easiest to follow tutorial that ive ever seen. i followed it very well and got good results from your instruction
This tutorial was absolutely amazing, I’ve always put off learning how to draw heads from different angles because I thought it was too difficult, while my heads now still aren’t perfect this really made a big improvement
I’m drawing heads every day for a month. This tutorial helps a lot. Thanks!
You are honestly the most helpful youtuber ever, i wish you good health and goodness in life!
Man thank you for the free lectures and class, really appreciate it
I’ve watch a few of your videos now and they have been the most helpful art tutorials on how to draw. This is truly beginner friendly tutorial. Thank you
I’m so glad I came across you, first time drawing anatomy as a beginner and this helps a lot with head shapes. Thank you
there's sooo many things other tutorials skipped but you explained it perfectly, thank you so much!!
thank you, i've been trying to get into drawing as of late and your tutorials are by far the easiest to follow
FINALLY a quality and indepth tutorial on youtube!
This is, by far, the most helpful tutorial I've seen. Answering many questions that the other ones didn't cover. Thanks a lot.
You're the man Marc! Thanks so much for these tutorials, they're so informative.
I will say I love the humor you've introduced in your newer videos, its a trip to listen to these older ones and be like "where are the jokes..?"
Hey. This was the best draw a face video I’ve watched. Thank you.
You’re the first I’ve watched to say this is more challenging to learn and you explain everything really thoroughly.
🤯🤯🤯
Im glad a pro like you made so much free tutorials you are the best
I usually don't comment on videos but I want to thank you for your tutorial. I always wanted to be able do do sketches of my OCs but I was never good at drawing. It didn't matter how much I practiced, it never worked for me. I am a very technical person and I really need tutorials like this which explain me how the proportions do work. I always need that little formula to be able to draw it.
I was truly shocked when I first saw something resembling a head. I've been trying to draw head the entire day and no tutorial helped me as much as yours. So I am very thankful.
Phew,I thought I was hopeless with drawing heads and opted to study the skull for a couple of weeks untill I came across this,I'm so grateful for all ur doing ,ur a blessing in disguise 🧡
I know this is pretty old video, but if you read this:
Thank you sooo much for making this video, I was struggling with drawing head for 2 months now, and your explanation just clicked everything together for me!
Thank you!!!!
I really appreciate these tutorials. Also, your attitude and vibes are so nice, I'm loving your channel and will probably be purchasing the Art School program when I get my iPad Pro :)
Watching this in 2022 and you sound so different. But the information is still great. Glad to see how much you’ve evolved over time.
Loving following along on pen and paper, can’t wait for my tablet to get here
This helped such dude. I really appreciate you making this straight to the point tutorials, keep it up
Thank you so much! i really sucked at drawing heads before and u made it seem so easy! Bless You!
awesome tutorial! I'm going to be watching so much more, time to go through a ton of fine liners drawing people on the go.
hands down the best video to learn how to draw heads 10/10
this channel is really underrated i watched this video for refresh .you are the best mark i have been following you for a year ...it may looks challenging at first but now i feel more comfortable ....you are inspiring ...you are always the best marc
Thank you! Powerful method! Just some simple shapes and proportions and suddenly all the angles of the face are drawable!
this was amazing marc i really appreciate it
Finally a clear video on this topic! I have no further questions :) Thank you, I subscribed!
This is the best explanation of how to drawing a head that I've ever seen.
Im a beginner traditional artist and i love your work!! Thank u 4 this wonderful tutorial it helped me w/ my art block!!
i'm working on starting a comic soon!! and i really wanted a better understanding of the human form before i started. these videos are really helping me out!! thanks so much for the lessons!!
This video is so good and really helpful. Thank you so much for sharing!
I don't usually comment on videos but this has been so amazingly helpful. I've been struggling with drawing the head at different angles for days, and after watching this video and taking some notes, I can finally do it! Thank you so much Marc, I can't wait to watch more of your videos.
Thanks for making this tutorial video, I really appreciate it. This was very simple and easy to understand, even for a beginner artist like myself. My heads look a little rough but I'm sure after a few dozen (or hundred haha (I'm willing to put in the time)), or so they'll look better.
Omg it's so useful actually, I was waiting for a non detailed explanation like many other video that didn't help me enough but here, it was so clear and well explained, even a French like me understand !! xD Thank you for taking this time to help others, i'll definitly improve with this !! ^_^
This is really helpful! Thank you so much! ❤️
Something I do and recommend is before I do ANYTHING, every day (among other warm ups) I will draw a page front - back of circles and ovals
Thank you, Marc! This IS the best head tutorial i've seen so far! So simple but so full of info and tips too!
yeah it was easy to put in practice compared to other methods i think it's called the loomis method i was having problems with others but this one is so reliable i watched mikeymegamega he had a similar method but for some reason i tasn't able to pull it off as well he only showed 3 head positions and no way to do other types i also watched art senpai more ways to do it but not so reliable many tutorials but this was the best one yet for me i had problems with front facing heads but that is now fixed i remodelled the technique a lil after i got used to it a lil for anime heads it works very well
@@ultimatumdweebium2965 does it take time to learn from this video
@@themanx6019 yup but i still have not learned it i tried to do it but this video did not help me either it's a good video but at the time 5 months ago i did not know enough about perspective so i gave up on anatomy and just studied perspective i have gotten really good at it my friend a veteran artist said i was ready and today i'm going to study it again learn perspective first you need to really understand cubes, spheres and cylindres i drew like everyday and i kept learning i still don't know everything there is to know about perspective but i'm good enough to try again
@@ultimatumdweebium2965 wait when u were doing drawing spheres and cubes and geographic forms and on perspective what did you do?
@@themanx6019 Most likely, this means drawing cubes, cylinders, ovals - in perspective.
This is the best tutorial I’ve seen so far
This was a amazing tutorial and it helped me to draw any angels thank so much :)
This has literally BLOWN my mind.. i have been struggling with head angles for so long and now i finally have a technique that solves it all for me. Thank you so much, you were so thorough and I love the way you taught this. Extremely useful, this will improve my art tenfold. I cannot wait to try this.
Thanks a lot! My first attempt was pretty awful but I kept doing the same thing and now it looks awesome!
Thank you for this tutorial!!! I was struggling with the explanation of this method in others videos because they never talk about the proportions of the oval, but with your video everything just clicked together for me!
Thank you! Very helpful and very well explained.
Plenty of Loomis vids on UA-cam and there are slight variations to them.
I think you have created a concise video with excellent guidance that is comprised of the best, most important aspects to the method whilst eliminating others that I've found make it slightly more difficult than it has to be.
Thank you so much! 😊
Thank you so much. I have improved so much just since yesterday by focusing on this technique. I’m really thinking about getting the anatomy course…it’s already in my wish list 😎
This was so useful for me and you made it so easy to understand, thank you🥰
Marc, You made my day thank you very much i believe this explains it all !!
just started out drawing, trying to draw heads was a big struggle.. like i watched so many videos but this was the one that finally clicked with me, tysm
really helpful and amazing tutorial thank you so much!!!!
This was really nice, because... I've been studying the loomis method for a few weeks now (I'm a beginner), breaking down people's heads into that structure grid, sometimes breaking down other (I know to be professionals) artist's work, and I'd notice the line at the temple (?) wouldn't be as parallel as I thought it would be but the way you pointed out in your video at 4:33. And it's like, even though having the knowledge of f.e. what the loomis method is and knowing where the planes should go, I know I still haven't grasped it fully since every time I do a study I learn something new. Uhh, what did I want to say with this... basically, you reaffirming an observation I had made me really happy and I'm thankful for the information :D
I love you,and your tutorial, keep the amazing job up buddy ❤️
You earned yourself a new subscriber kudos 👍👏🏾
So useful thank you so much for these videos!
Thank you so so much for this tutorial as it has made head learning so easy to understand :)
Great video! Appreciate the effort.
Dude thank you! Literally cut my drawing time down significantly!
tnx i looked up many head modelling techniques but none of them were as simple and as reliable as the one you showed i myself wanna draw anime characters and with the knowledge from other vids i fused it with your technique and got a very good anime head it's easily moldable your technique love it tnx i'm also gonna sub it seems worthwile i hope you reach your dreams like i wanna reach mine
Thanks for uploading this video I can’t found second part of this video! Hope you upload second part as well 🧑🏻🎤🙏
Thank you Marc!
this video is hidden gem! thanks, sir!
Really like the tutorial👌 Thank you
Omg thank you so so much. I always wanted to draw faces. Unfortunately didn’t know where to start especially how to do the jaw. Now I know. I am going to practice this so so much
Thank you for this content !!
Brother thank you so much that was amazing I enjoyed it!!!
I've been able to get decent at making circles but having a hard time drawing multiple circles within the sphere at perspective where they all line up. Something that really helped me was googling an image of a sphere that has many axis lines pre drawn out. I have several of them to use as references so I can better get this first half of the face down correctly. Just a tip from a friendly beginner.
my high school art teacher had us draw the spere with all the lines. It was hard at first, but it really helped train us how to see it in contect.
How to draw HEADS? How?? Like that maybe? Here's a chapter from the much longer anatomy course I did covering how to draw the head in any angle. Heavily inspired by the many Michael Hampton books laying around here, who probably learned it from Loomis, who knows.
Hope this helps, share it around if it did! It's a bit slower pace to make sure even complete beginners can follow.
I don't have time to watch the full video YET but just wanted to let you know this is a Godsend, thank you!
@@fallonfireblade4404 Glad to hear :D
can you make a tutorial about neck ...like how to connect it properly to the head?probably in different angles please🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏...
also the relationship of the neck and jaw maybe🙏🙏🙏
My issue is not so much drawing heads at different angles but drawing the same head at different angles. Maintaining likeness can be a challange and often requires loads of erasing and redrawing before it looks passable. If you have any tips for that I'd appreciate it.
Hey Terrance thats a great question! Look the video of Etahn Becker, called: "Avatar breakdown i 3 steps...", basically what you need to do is maintain the proportions, the size of the forehead for example, and trace tangents to place the eyes at the same spot, and to keep the wide of nose, mouth, etc... The video explain that so much better, my english is not the best... Good luck with that!
@@christopherparedes8707 I've actually improved a lot at this in the time since I wrote this comment. Some angles are still tricky but things are coming along little by little. I saw some of that video you mentioned a few weeks ago. Never got around to watching the whole thing. Thanks for the advice.
@@terrancevanliew1814 Have you improved even more now? Im interested haha

Amazing tutorial this helped me alot
Thanks so much There is something who was unlock in my mind thanks to this amazing this tutorial. Everything is clear for me 😬😬🤩
This is super helpful, I'm just getting into drawing and it's very helpful. Thank you very much
So this is pretty much Loomis technique with an interesting Bobba Fett addition. Thanks for this tutorial. I am practicing daily hoping to be good enough for your course someday. This is going to help a lot. I have been working on faces and hands lately, but I need to work on legs and feet. I have a reasonably well working beginners concept of the torso.
This tutorial is much better than your new one. The steps for the head construction are way more comprehensive and beginner-friendly imo
Thanks a lot. Very helpful.
