I have the Loomis book and have watched literally dozens of UA-cam videos on drawing using the Loomis method, but this video is one of only two I've seen that caused something to "click" for me. Thank you SO MUCH for this clear, easy-to-understand presentation. I struggle with spatial awareness and perspective, so seeing everything spelled out so clearly is incredibly helpful.
I agree! Everything the above comment says!! I too feel like something clicked 😊 Your video helped me a lot!
Totally agree!
1000% agree
What was the second?
I love how you've continued to excel no matter what kind of environment you're in.. you went from a small area in the attic to a big desk. regardless of the space your in you've been able to do the work. I think this is helpful to people who don't have extravagant spaces. you can still work with what you have no matter how small or cramped and still make progress. There is no real need for fancy tools or spaces to learn to draw. use what you got available to you and the rest will come with time. Dan has proved this to be true.
Thank you, I’ve been making these videos for nearly 5 years now!
Your growing channel is well deserved. A pencil drawing rock star.
Fantastic tutorial as usual thanks Dan
Another incredible video! Thank you for continuing to make these
Thanks. You showed me a lot of pointers I never noticed before.
My god man, what an excellent video, I'm currently reading Loomis' book and it had never occurred to me to use the side elipses as a guide for the measure/ nose line! Thank you so much!
Thank you for your excellent teaching
Thank you! Another very helpful video! I got a foam sphere from the Dollar Tree and used a pin and piece of thread for my lines!
I've always been comfortable with the cercle method and not the box one. Now I understand why I used to draw my heads like this without noticing woaw !
Thank you for this. Its an excellent supplement to other videos I have seen on this topic.
Brilliant thanks for the video
Good stuff, thank you for the video!
wow,very useful,nice
You are always helpful in your vedios
Thank you
Hi dan how are you? Your art is amazing ❤ i love your perspective series would love n appreciate more on the subject of perspective 🙂
Awesome
we studied loomis a lot in college.the tutor was obsessed with using loomis for drawing and nothing else would work...his way of drawing def helps, but they are other ways of drawing the form
I go to the youtube chsnnel for search the second part and almost die when i saw that it doesnt exist :( dude i see thousand videos like this but ur way to explain on this really really help me a lot more than just "draw a box"
Hi Dan am glad i found your channel this has to be one of the best lesson on loomis heads.Just one question when you slice the sides off does it matter how big. Thanks keep up the good work. Take care.
You're underrated ❤
I could swear you can read minds or something dan, because this is what I wanted right now.
I really like RockHe Kim’s method of drawing the head a little more than Loomis. He starts with a bread slice shape. Kim’s method especially good for tricky angles like when the head is looking up where the face plane is foreshortened. You can find his pdf posted online.
Bread shape? I thought it was a cube with face attached
@@ivopedro it’s pretty much a square but with a short arch protruding out the front, representing the brow line. But yes, it’s pretty much a cube with a slight modification
Hello, would you have any advice to give to have a less hesitant and more assured pencil line to be able to draw perfectly in perspective and in particular circles and ovals like the ones you draw?
7:56 do we have to consider the roundness of the sphere to make those proportion markings on the center line?
All loomis books are free online to view!
Can you do a video on how to draw a skull from any angle using loomis method please
I’m confuse on the thirds how do you establish that, do you use a ruler and look at the 1 inch 2 inch and 3 inch mark?
second circle gets me lost! im crying 😢😭

Bro ilove u 😂😂😂
The top right head is lacking perspective, inst it?
Is this beginner friendly?
Yes. Go back over Dan's introduction to perspective videos and it will all make sense.
There are playlists on his channel to help.
we can actually get andrew loomis books for free online
For the life of me I cannot figure out what the head would look like for the bottom right circle with ellipses at 6:35
Im sorry but I must be on the slow art train because this was far from simple to me.😢 Thanks for the instruction though as I do appreciate your time.
would be nice to be able to draw a fucking circle
Oh it’s just the loomis method again.
Fortunately, even a sarcastic comment helps the channel.
I give up. I can't do anything.
why are you whispering?
This didn't help me
