hope you're having a nice weekend playing Tears of the Kingdom, but save some time for art too! 🤓 also don' t hesitate to come back a week after you start and report on your progress! Would love to hear! 😘
you got me You have to get the level two upgrade for Link's aerodynamic suit 🦉🦇
That will save you a lot of trouble when falling from a great height in The Leyend Of Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom.
Not yet, I'll probably have to soon though
how did you know
🤦♂️why don't you have english subtitles in your videos
A question in which day you include watching tutorials to learn information?
I'm so glad people like you exist. I'm too poor to afford paid courses, so every bit of help I could get for free is hugely appreciated. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, kind sir.
I know right!!
(nice yoimiya pic too lmao)
I didn't learn anything what?
So funny story. I'm on 6 months into the art program, focused mostly on character art.
I had someone so impressed with my character drawing progress they offered me a job with them to make architectural floor plans look nice. They design it, I make it look nice.
At first I was going "uhhh I show you characters but okay?" And in the "interview" he and his partner went "dude if you can draw all that. This is gonna be nothing."
Lolz. So far can confirm it feels so easy
Sounds cool, any place where I could check out your work?
@@noobatredstone3001 still got a lot of improvement to still make though!
@@shawncollins5127 What art program are you in? Marc's?
@@theRedNinja4444 yup! Looking at a few in coloso as well
@@shawncollins5127 Can we see it now? Now that you had a year of preparation.
if everybody treat this as weeks instead of days, it becomes really more realistic, it is possible to learn like that
The best art teacher on UA-cam so far!
You spelled EVER wrong.
@@JulioHernandez-ip8xy haha you’re funny. Yeah he really is the best artist ever on yt.
So far? U meant BY FAR 😂
Naoki saito and marc is an artist blessing
Yes! And " Like a sir"
Tbh Marc was on to something when he made this syllabus. The way it is structured, I am seeing huge results already and I’m now on day 5. I saw a supercharge in the way I draw arms between days 3-4. I think most of the improvement came after studying Marc’s figures for my artist studies. I learned how to simplify certain portions of the arms into simple lines, and I grew to appreciate how subtly he illustrated the muscles in the forearm. Marc, please do more 7 day challenges like these!! These feel more manageable and I’m less likely to abort these unlike the 1 year or 1 month challenges haha.😅
i feel like you can apply the logic of this video to pretty much whatever you want to learn to draw i think.
Example with Landscape:
Day 1: Draw 4-5 Landscape from memory/imagination
Day 2: Mini Sketches with references - 2-5 minutes/Sketches for 30mins/1hour
Day 3: Photo reference Tracing + Draw what you see
Day 4: Draw 10 Studies from pro artists
Day 5: Draw the main Elements of your landscapes in details (trees, rocks, mountains...)
Day 6: Draw 4-5 Landscape using references (in the style of choice)
Day 7: Redo Day 1 Exercise
I definitely agree with the 1year challenges, even 1 month is too much if you don't have a burning fire inside or (like me) burn yourself because you do too much and have shity high expectation as how good you should be
6:38 I’m on day 4 now and I’m definitely studying Marc’s arms. Idk a lot of other professional artists and furthermore, I really love how Marc simplified the muscles yet conveys them very well
5:19 I’m on day 3 and I really struggled with tracing the jacked models. It just felt like I was randomly placing the lines. Finding that free detailed 3d model on anatomy for sculpture’s website really helped a lot with at least familiarizing myself with the muscles, origin and placement before trying to apply that agin to the models
Can I ask what model you used? I’m on day 3 as well and feel a bit overwhelmed about trying to memorize all the muscles. I feel similar to you where what I’m drawing looks good, but I can’t recognize anything that I’m drawing other than the deltoid.
Also, can I ask how you went about learning the muscles and their placement on the arm? Did you learn about the arm bones at all? Any help is appreciated lol
@@Liper21 I learned the bones and insertion and origin points and such, mostly because I love learning about the muscles and bones and stuff. That made it easier to pinpoint when something is off.
@@swisdom9117 thank you! One more question, how did you study Marc’s figures? I’m trying to study arms atm and all his recent art is heavily clothed, and I would rather not scroll through instagram for hours instead of actually drawing.
I appreciate all you do, i also learned how to draw muscle anatomy from sun ken rock/ dr stone mangaka boichi .the cross hatching muscles he does is also super fun to do, time consuming but it just adds to your practice of making lines lol keep up the work guys
After 4 years of drawing I still can't draw from the mind any bodies it's depressive
I see you a berserk fan brotha !
lord im reading this at 12 am with nth but hopes and determination and your comment really inspired me to keep trying especially with boichis style
@@sael5084I know I’m late but even pros need to use reference sometimes. There’s no shame in it and if anything it just adds to your learning
I am literally just about to relearn anatomy again, as I was getting a bit rusty. This is INCREDIBLY helpful. I hope you realise how invaluable these videos, even for professional artists. Keep it going Marc.
Day 1: completed, I did about 11 arms sketching from references, simple angles
Day 2: I have extended this day for mutiple days I have traced over muscles and have used an arm diagram to help guide me in selecting and identifying what I am copying and sketching.
Day 3 in progress:
So I forgot about this 💀💀💀
But I kept repeating the same method
And I’ve spent more time on simplified shapes
I study bone and muscle and use ALOT AND ALOT of reference
I’ve realized and remembered every time I sketch something I need a reference
As an artist you need a reference if you aren’t sure in what you are sketching, NEVER EVER GUESS.
Learn and copy and then recall without reference and see what you’ve learnt
Update?!??
Blud died
bruh
Bro gave up
too quick man
I love this guy's sense of humour. It's so much more interesting when someone knows how to deliver material in an engaging way.
I personally found Michel Lauricella's "Morpho" books on anatomy a great companion to Marc's videos on anatomy. There's a big book that compiles a lot of content for a cheaper price, but I highly recommend buying the smaller books. They're barely 100 pages each, pretty cheap, and pocket-sized, but most importantly, they are binded so that almost every page can lay flat open on your desk without you having to hold it open. This leaves your hands free to copy the illustrations in the books, which is what you'd be buying these books to do.
To start off, I recommend just two of them: "Skeleton and bone reference points" and "Joint forms and muscular functions". These two books will cover just about everything you need to learn and practice basic anatomy. Learning how the bones connect and bend, as well as which bones are visible from the skin is great for helping you structure your character. Learning where the muscles connect to the bone, as well as how they change shape as they bend and twist will then give you the tools to shape your bodies accordingly.
There are other books on the series, including ones on muscular bodies, hands and feet, animal anatomy, clothing, etc., but those first two recommendations will give you an idea of whether you like learning this way.
I am going to go to my schools' library today to see if I can find them. Would you recommend I start with the skeleton and bone reference points book first? Novice to drawing anatomy here.
@@targetisstrong9180 - Exactly. I've picked up several books in the series and while a lot of them are helpful, those two are core to drawing human anatomy well. To practice with them, I recommend copying the sketches in the book (and reading the text that accompanies them). Try and picture the bones and muscles as a 3D model in your head, and don't forget that even though the books separate head & neck, torso, upper limbs, and lower limbs, the most crucial parts are where all of them connect. For instance, many of the mucles that make up the shoulder are also the same muscles that make up the chest pecs. You don't actually have to memorize the bone or muscle names as long as you know they're there.
One day I'm going to be really good at art and teach as well. It's my dream to give back and you're definitely one of my idols for this. Thanks for the class Marc!!
We believe in you !! what type of art do you want to do and teach if you dont me asking ?
@@oddysay thanks! not sure yet, I'm still in that getting my major skills up kinda stage, like figure drawing, head drawing, landscape, still life, animal drawing. Lots of work haha.
@@zanggittai4764 cant wait to see ! do you post your art anywhere ?
Godspeed zang, Godspeed!
I’ve been focusing this year on self improvement and character building. A hobby I love so much has become a means to just earn money, and though I still love it, viewing my art that way has turned me inspired and limited. I can’t wait to begin this! I have finals next week and then summer break begins for me, but I’m definitely going to use this as a planner
this is the best art channel i have seen your art just inspires me everytime your character designe and your rendering your detail well there is alot more i just wanted to say thank you for for everything you are putting alot of work on helping artists improve and you deserve much more!!
Love these exercises! Thank you so much for the effort! May you progress in this endeavor of yours by leaps and bounds!
Yessssssss an anatomy and schedule to follow too!!! Love all your schedules and home works teach! I'm already having fun doing term 1 exercises! Thanks so much!!!
These learn X in Y time videos are extremely helpful, please do more of these!
I love all your study plans in all your videos including this! Very detailed, informative and valuable💓
Thanks guy! You've helped me a lot and motivated me to don't give up learning to draw. You are the best teacher in the world!
I showed some sketches to my family yesterday and they were impressed, I'm really far to be done, but so far it's all thanks to you teach :) hopefully I'll be able to joing your art program soon
Very Useful Video, I LOVE it♥️♥️
Just in time, I'm on a art learning marathon rn so i need every little help i can get.
Just got your entire Art School course earlier thie week and i have two Coloso courses too.
I got a lot to cover and a lot to practice. :)
THANK YOU for this Marc!! I'm gonna focus on arms and legs following this schedule this week.
Marc - I cannot overstate how helpful this process is. I'm also taking your learn to draw in one year program. This would be incredibly helpful for the February and April portions, as well and I'd recommend adding the link to the one-year program. It seems like it's a very helpful process for learning how to draw any object or component. Thanks.
Thanks for summarizing all the processes to practice anatomy and learn it in 7 days! I am really lazy and this would be good for me to study and practice (later I will also try to beat my laziness and practice longer). Thank you for taking your time and always coming up with these videos and surprising and helping everyone in our learning!
I'm switching to digital then I'm signing up for the art school I've already learned so much from you. Best art teacher with the best music.
Thank you so much for posting this stuff, it's been a while since I last drawn. This should help me a lot!
I have been grinding gestures and doing draw a box program. Draw a box has improved my confidence like crazy 🤪😜
Thank you for posting things like this, its very helpful. Ive been only focasing on heads for probably the two years tha ive gotten into drawing characters because i was to afraid to start anatomy
It's the first time I tried a program like that... and it's surprisely good, thank you !
In only one week, I can now draw basic arms poses from mind. Before, I was totally lost without references.
Wow wow wow! Thank you so much Marc you're always strangely on time with my problems ❤
thanks you are definely the best teacher on UA-cam!!
Thank you so much sir.., i struggle with my schedule these past few days and dont know what to draw first..this helps me a lot sir🤗
Just what I needed! Thanks Marc!
Is a very concise and comprehensive plan. Very cool, much appreciated.
I have struggled with anatomy for the longest time but this has helped me so much. Thank you!
This guy really helps my journey.. tysm sir
Thank you for the clothing vid, I did a little self-promo drawing with my character with her leg slightly forward, and because of your clothing video i think i got it just right. when my day job isn't too demanding I will definitely do this 7-day challenge.
thank you so much for this. your videos help me a lot to improved my art.
Marc how the hell do you always know what i need, thank you so much sensei!
This is fantastic i have no anough words to thank you for providing This value for free
Thank you ,best art teacher
We are so lucky that you make these videos and put them out for free. Absolute legend
Thanks Marc you are a Gem!❤
Marc you are amazing!
I love these videos so much I'm so excited to buy the course in a few weeks
The timing with marc's tutorials can get much better, always there when I need them! (Edit: I meant can't get much better 😅) it's really good 😶👍
Especially as someone who's on the Spectrum and not in art school-- this structured approach to learning will be a big help. My drawing skills are roughly intermediate at this point (I've been drawing people/characters for 10 years now), but my scatterbrained approach to learning has held me back from being an advanced artist.
Marc is like a ball endless Knowledge To Teach you To improve in drawing :)
Best of the best!!!! He makes it so easy and fun but he KNOWS his stuff!!!!!!
I end up with so much confidence after watching these videos ❤
So? Week one: arms, week 2: torso, week: legs etc? So about 2 months and you can have head, hands, arms, legs, torso 😱 I might buy your course also, I want to make money as a artist in about a year’s time.
PERFECT TIMING, tysm
thank you so much! you always seem to know what i need!
I use your channel to learn to draw and practice my English, 2x1 thank you teacher.
im literally waiting for Christmas to join Marcs art program. It is the one thing I want and then one thing I need!
Thank u so much bro, i love the academy content and this videos also make a big difference on my questions
❤ Wow this is great! Now we just need to do it!
Thank you mark ı learned so much from you !😆
yessss finally thank you marc!!!!
Truly a Master... Thank you.
I love the hand holding series bc im slow and unorganized school has programmed me to need this kins of teaching
It's so easy to understand 💗 thank u.
ur drawings amaze me they are all so cool and hopefully one day ill be atleast close to as good as you!
my boyfriend recommended your channel as he's a huge fan of your work and style as an artist himself. I can see why! Very educational. I'm trying to learn art, especially figure/character drawing, and I'm frankly awful, but here's hoping to learn
Thank you for making this your videos really helpful
Let's goooooo! I need a refresher!
Loved this video thank you.
Fave teacher from another planet! 👽🛸☄️🪐
Very good video and schedule!!
Thanks for your lesson!
Yes please!
Another EXP+ on anatomy!
Thanks Sir!
Such glorious advice, such a beautiful accent.
You are too kind to us.
Thank you Marc man 👍🏻
Thank you!
Thank you so much❤
Love ya Marc
This really came in clutch just in time for school to start
i love the openings
I swear the hardest part for me to draw is the abs and hip area when it comes to body drawing. So having a process to help me practice is great! Thanks Marc!
check out michael Hamptons inventive figure drawing that book is extremely helpful and you can find it free as a pdf
the hip area is where i struggle with too! i know how to draw the chest but connecting the legs to the pelvis im like????
such helpful video!!
Great video. This seems like a more in depth version of the Shrimp method.
Dropping gems 🔥
Best anatomy Artist you are Sensei
Bro, the editing, chill
Thank you!!!
MHM, I"M JUST FINISHING YOUR 30-DAY CHALLENGE AND STARTED LOOKING FOR SOMETHING NEXT (though not the year challenge, it's too bold xd) AND THIS ONE JUST POPS RIGHT UP
Lovely Mark, what about making aaaa month challenge for an anatomy course? Orrr a season one? Aka a lil bit more expanded, please?
This can be really useful for me by the fact that im a self-taught artist and sometimes i can't decide how much time should i study certain thing and all i know is that i don't know nothing and art it's a really long journey
Thanks for the link to the reference poses.
I know this is a more digital focused channel but this works for my physical process as I wait for my job application to get approved
Today is gonna be day one for me so wish me luck on this journey and I will update this each day to document my progress! #learnanatomyin7days
Edit: I'm on Day 5 now and I've been studying the upper body for the five days and I definitely have improved a lot. Proportions have gotten easier and more accurate and I've been able to draw anatomy more frequently. I've nearly finished my first sketchbook drawing them. Sorry for long delay as I had exams, summer school and procrastination issues for a while. Wish me luck for the last two days.
Update?
@@Squishyobsidian he gave up 10minutes after that comment.
@@bloodcorez9344 Nah I had exams lol
Yes this is very helpful enuf for me, i think many people now know that they need to study anatomy but dont know how to start, or they do know but stuck on a certain level.
I've already studied all the muscles and how its connected to the bone and how it works and stuff but my only struggle is that the shape and form knowing how its shaped in different angles also the shape deforms when it moves. Not knowing the shape makes it harder to be able to shade and color it.
As a Vietnamese, I'm very happy to learn about art like this on UA-cam. It's hard to spend a lot of money and the videos are short so I have to try to watch and analyze them.
This seems like a good one to jump back into. I've been ill for the last few weeks, but I'm feeling better now. Need to work out the rust.
Also a piece of advice for anyone doing studies, remember the purpose of your study is to learn, not make beautiful art. Don't get discouraged if your studies aren't perfect or end up messy or look bad, mistakes or errors are good things in this context as they give you more things to check, more questions to ask etc. Your goal is to increase your understanding so you can improve your art. That isn't to say that studies can't look good, only that you shouldn't worry too much if it doesn't.
thanks 😢
precisely
Marc is just pure win
school year boutto end gonna grind art exp again 🔥
I did the 7 days, my focus was the legs, although improvement wasnt crazy, it did help me a lot to better understand anatomy. Thank you Marc!
Hey, Marc! I'm writing a graphic novel, so I've really been trying to beef up my skills in preparation for illustrating it. Your anatomy advice has been tremendously helpful! However, I've really been struggling with backgrounds and environments. Would you be able to make a study guide like this for backgrounds? :)
Im also up to it! A study schedule for backgrounds would be great
Saaaaame, yes please Marc Senpai!
Just bought your course, now I need a new Apple pencils and a used iPad 😂👍 can’t wait
Thanks so much! Officially, welcome to ART School!!
