Seeing this kit and the excellent detail makes me wish Moebius would make late '60s GM trucks, Blazer/Jimmy, and Suburbans and '70s gm square body trucks, Blazer/Jimmy, and Suburbans. We really need newer, modern made versions of these vehicles.
Great review and build!!, i'm a canadian guy and look forward to this release!!, i would love to see Moebuis take their 64/65 Nova's and offer the Canadian version Acadian.
What I love is that I had a blue and white 68 Merc truck just like that, and my name is Ryan, and I'm an artist... like it was meant to be! What I really hope is they will make the other Mercury trucks, or conversion parts for them in the future, a 1946-47 Mercury truck would be amazing!
So many different variants of this truck now and they are all impressive. It would be great if Moebius could do the Dodges and Chevy/GMC trucks and their variants from this same era. That blue is really nice and I think it is one Tamiya has for its military aircraft kits, but it truly suits this truck with the two tone scheme. If the upcoming tow truck is a duallie that'd be really cool.
Chris - Paint chips are no longer included as some folks were eating them. And then complaining about the incorrect number of rivets! Thanks for the build ! While I was "Nammin' it" in '68 and got NO news - the Canadians managed to smuggle in pictures of their Mecury pick ups...
Hello, from Canada. I remember these trucks being sold by a Mercury Dealer in the small town where I grew up. So glad that Moebius has finally done a Mercury Truck. These kits, like their car models are so easy, and well detailed to build. And, they sold Mercury cars up here as well. Thanks, Chris. Lets hope they do some late model Chev trucks as well. Barry Kennedy, Ontario, Canada
I truly enjoy all of your videos and will only buy a new release after I see your build/review. I fully understand why you do quick builds and respect what you do. That being said, I would love to see you go "all out" just once and do a full detail build with some aftermarket goodies. You are a great modeler and would do a great show quality model.
Hey man, I just recently discovered your videos. Just want to say thank you very much. They’re absolutely awesome and I enjoy them and they’re very very helpful. John
Another home run from Mobius. And a very nice build up too. I'm so glad they finally decided to tool up some F-100 dog dish hub caps. Hopefully these will be included in future F-100 releases.
Chris you did a great job mate You tills the models video work Round mate ilove our work and still or great music to mate and the colour of the model shithot mate keep up with the great work mate I am a fan from down under Australia 🇦🇺 mate 🇦🇺 👍 😀 ❤
The first time I saw a mercury truck was on a old black and white tv show it as a 1953 to 56 body style different grill pretty cool, on the AMT 1957 Fairlane has a mercury gill option. I can't wait for Moebius to bring out the 1968 Chevy C10 that's going to be so cool, I hope the roomer is true
Great video! A fun little fact about these trucks though, is that they produced these Mercury versions since the "F Series" trucks started in 1948. The originals were F-1 for the half ton and F-(insert ascending number here) for the weight change. In Canada, however, these same trucks from 1948-52, were known as F-47's , M-47 for Mercury trucks (or higher numbers based on size), which reflected the weight of the truck. In 1953 and on, they went to F-100 or M-100. I personally own a 1950 F-47 so I'm a bit of a buff.
We had a 68 M100, solid blue with the white bumper and grill. I'm not sure it had one option, no radio, per strg and brakes, 6 cylinder 3 on the tree. 1968 was the last year for Mercury pickups in Canada. I'll be building this for sure
No music?? Still a great build! I’ve got an old Möbius race hauler in my stash that I got to get around to building. This video was an inspiration, to get my butt in gear! Thanks
From Wikipedia: "In 1946, Ford of Canada split its Ford and Lincoln/Mercury divisions into separate sales networks. Alongside the creation of the Monarch and Meteor sub-brands, Ford of Canada introduced trucks to the Mercury division. At the time, few rural communities offered both the Ford and Lincoln-Mercury dealership networks, miniminizing model overlap and allowing for greater coverage for potential truck buyers. To differentiate Ford and Mercury trucks, Mercury added a brand-specific grille and slightly different exterior and interior trim." 1968 was the final year for Mercury trucks. They were discontinued after the signing of the U.S.-Canada Auto Pact, which allowed for tariff-free movement of vehicles produced on both sides of the border.
Bill Goldbergs wife has one of those, the real thing, he showed it on some show that he was on, but it was about the same color as that box art, if I remember right. Anyhow I think he said it was his wife's Uncle or something and she ended up with it, that was the first time I ever saw a Mercury truck, or rather a F100 with Mercury badging on it. Cool
Great video! I apologize if this is a dumb question, but what glue are you using? You seem to attach the parts first and then apply glue, instead of the other way around.
I was given a 76 f150 that was ordered by a gentleman from Indiana. He only ever owned Mercury cars, and when he ordered the truck, he expressly requested the truck be made in Canada ('C' vin code for Ontario Canada plant) We think he was trying to get a Mercury truck but it wasn't to be
My uncle owned one of these Mercury M100 Pickups, it had a red roof.. and the body was all white. Here in Canada there were everywhere until I believe 1970-73 I think? My Uncle gave it to my cousin who destroyed it..D'oh!...
I wonder if the AMT cast iron headers and the intake manifolds from the 1960 Starliner kit will work with the Moebius 390 FE motor and the chassis for this kit????.....🤔😁🤔🥸🧐
I believe a '68 chevy pickup is in the works.
Come on Moebius let’s get those ‘65 Dodges out!
Great review and build!!, i'm a canadian guy and look forward to this release!!, i would love to see Moebuis take their 64/65 Nova's and offer the Canadian version Acadian.
They could go a step further and offer a Canadian Beaumont (Chevelle)!
@@martyoberman2108 or even if someone offered the parts in 3d to make the conversion would be fine.
@@martyoberman2108fr a Beaumont would be awesome, really wish 3rd party sites like Harts Parts Resin would make a conversion kit

Great kit and review. I did not know that they made a Mercury truck in Canada. Learn something new every day.
Looking forward to building one of these up, great job!
Awesome build! Love the colors!

I see these on the auction block every once in a while. Gorgeous truck & nice job on it. I really want one of these.
Outstanding! I just pre-ordered one of these kits from Model Roundup and look forward to building it.
I'm definitely getting one of these. I love the color combo you chose!
Thank You for using that blue. I’ve been curious what it would look like on a car or truck,
Love your channel! That’s proper Ford FE detail and great detail in general!
I must try and get one of these kits , the box art alone is fantastic and be great as a picture hanging up on in a man cave .

The AMT 1957 Ford Fairlane has the Canadian 1957 Meteor grille as an alternative.

Nice Job but after you came back from painting the music is missing till you start talking about your work greetings from Germany.
I wish they would make the 1960 to 1966 Chevy factory four wheel drive model.
Never understood how people can complain about such little flash
Oh man, they will complain about anything and everything. From a creased manual to a box with a slightly smushed edge.
Hpiguy should send the finished Model to Bill Goldberg He owns a Mercury truck.
Yes

Why doesn’t Mobius make shiver your Dodge trucks?
I know. No trucks prior to 1972… 😢
Great video! I apologize if this is a dumb question, but what glue are you using? You seem to attach the parts first and then apply glue, instead of the other way around.
I'm definitely in the boomer category and today is the first time I knew Mercury made trucks lol .

We think he was trying to get a Mercury truck but it wasn't to be
WOULD LIKE TO SEE A F100, F250 OR F350 DUALLY FACTORY STAKE BED MODEL KIT.
Around minute 45 the sounds stops. What's the name of the masking tape you use? Thanks
Did Mercury make pickup trucks too? I like American cars, but I didn't know about this.
Canadian market only
68 Mercury pick up? Hmm
Clark David Anderson Eric Taylor Amy
