I’m pretty sure the car was meant to look crashed 😂😂🤦🏽♂️🤡
amazing restoration. Happy birthday. Very good.
This is amazing! I’d love to restore one of my models. I’m wondering if you would accept a mail in? It’s a 1998 Mercedes S500. It needs paint and a wheel hub repair.
You think people are stupid you did this damage to this car.
The car looked cool before the restoration. Would be great in a junkyard diorama.
I thought the same thing.. I actually thought the thumbnail was the finished project at first!
It probably came out of a junkyard diorama...
I don’t understand restoring it especially if it was relic’d from the factory. Just buy an old plsyed with diecast and restore it.
All they need is a little Trump sign and some tiny cylinder blocks and welcome to Tennessee boy's!
Aside from the challenge of restoration I felt that the junkyard car had much more character. Felt almost like a sacrilege to watch that masterclass diorama car getting restored.
I'm blown away, first by the fantastic abandoned look, then by the awesome restoration. Must be a lot of fun doing this...
*Very sad fact: No one is on me* *p-o-d-p-i-sh-e-t-s-s-i 😢😢😭😭💔💔❤!* *I AM VERY TRYING* ! 💜❤🔥💜!!! Ps I apologize for the s-p-a-m (((, God bless everyone with health and good mood!!!!
I've been around muscle cars over 40 years. Mostly GM but I've restored some Mopars. Whoever built this, absolutley nailed how a Mopar uni body with torsion bars wheel looks on a hard hit to one corner. Bravo.
Bigblocklawyer blessed guy
Torsion bars have no affect on how the fender looks after a wreck
@@stuwest5862 Yeah. Google negative camber. Then work on cars for 40 years and figure out how different a mopar uni body torsion front suspension is from a GM upper and lower control arm front suspension. Then take a 2 week vacation. Then quit.

But everything is artificial rust and broke parts
I’ve never seen a model like this before 😍 amazing restoration
Super video👍👍
That is the COOLEST car model EVER!!!! Such craftsmanship and attention to detail...
for those playing @ home the plates on car PLUM 69. Plum is color, Plum Crazy Purple. and of course 69' is year of car. good job bro, peace.
Man I would have kept it the way it was! It was perfect lol
No annoying intro, no talking, plenty of info, beautiful shots, masterful work.
there is something about looking at a written off model car and its totally destroyed and then watching it being restored to its formal glory, I'm hooked on these videos man, well done man these restorations are fantastic to watch, keep them coming the before and after of these cars are catching
It’s cool the way it is, it looks real! When you restore these model cars they look unreal, like toys!!
Well, that's because they're fuckin' toys.
The start up at 23:32 is sick, I remember the days of Mopar 340's, 383's, 440's and 426 Hemi's. Sweet sounding for sure. That was a great restoration, thanks for the memories.
Fantastic restoration. That sound at the end though sounded less like an American V8 and more like a 1960s tractor!
Take a lot of skill doing what he's doing thanks a lot for keeping our diecast cars alive
These models look so good. The Burago cars I grow up with (in the EU) are not ugly, or lacking of details ,but still... And I had both 1/18 and 1/24 scales as well.
That's like a real life crash
Awesome restoration. So glad he kept it plum crazy. I would love to have that car on my shelf.
agreed. That only complaint I would have is I'm pretty sure the block is the wrong color.
I love how I went from wrecked in a high-speed chase to straight showroom floor 💓💓💓
The quality of that model is far above anything I ever had as a child!
Respect.👍
Beautiful restoration, looks awesome!👊
The car is so cool and the amount of detail is astonishing
I’ve been restoring and collecting model cars for years but this one right here is a very fine restoration
You did a fantastic restoration job on this 1968 Dodge Dart! 🤓👍 I never saw a kit car like this. It looks like you could get into it and go Saturday night cruising. I love these old cars and this bought back some sweet memories of my childhood seeing them on the road, and the way you restored it I would have never even thought of doing. A+ workmanship.
it is not a kit, its an 1/18 scale diecast modelcar...Highway 61 is the company, 2003 release year or newer maybe
I got a auto shop Ad before this. 😁
I would have put the wrecked version on the shelf. It looked like it was in a real wreck and parked.
Subscribed. As a kid I had roughly 200 model cars, trucks, boats, ships sitting on shelves in my bedroom. Several of them I carefully disassembled to give them new life. This channel totally reminds me of those days of fun. Thank you for sharing.
Sensacional amigo 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷 parabéns 👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼 lindo carro
I just wanted to see the actual collision happen that gave it so much character and realism
Congratulations on doing this restoration on this Dodge Dart , This one was a real challenge, but looks great now 👏 👌 👍 nice job
The weathering you've undone here would make a thousand army painters roll in their miniature graves 🤣 looked amazing before AND after!! Great stuff
Increíble!! Excelente trabajo 👏 👏👏👍

Very nice restoration. You brought this car back to life. I love the color that you chose. Its beautiful. You really are a great Craftsman/Artist. I really enjoy watching your videos. Thanks for sharing 😀
Awesome Restoration 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Very Beautiful...
Congratulations !!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😎
Nice work. Looks like my 74 Dodge Dart Swinger. Loved this car. Red with black vinyl roof.
Wow! The before pics are exactly how I think of an old Dodge Dart! Old, busted, and sitting in someone's back yard!
It looks great and you did a wonderful job restoring it as well!!!!
Enjoyed your video so I gave it a Thumbs Up as a support
Beautiful paint! Very cool!
I'd have left it as it was for a cool car crash diarama......
Same here look like real barn find
Wonder how he bent the front end
It not metal
Awesome looking good like the color plum crazy purple throw back to the 70s bringing all those colored back again
Hello Restore DIY
Hi Restore DIY
Great work..looks cool..
I love the gorgeous colour with the undertones of pink within the purple. Beautifully done.
(The colour reminds me of Penelope Pitstop for some reason, but that just adds to the appeal imo.)
Actress Meg O Ryan?
I've never seen a model car that detailed
I actually restored this exact year and model....loved that car.thats for sharing..
This is brilliant, thanks! It's funny how before the restoration it seemed like the model car was in a real accident, and then left to rust.
Wow, most people would look at that and not bother. You transformed it. Beautiful work!
Plum crazy purple stole my heart man this thing turned out beautiful
Wow! Great model and great job! I was especially happy to see that you didn't paint the engine bay black! I don't know what the original model was, but the radiators were black and the transmissions unpainted. BTW what did you gap the spark plugs to?
Yeesh!!! I’m not sure I want to know what happened to this car!!! Awesome job!!!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Nice job. You are truly talented at that. Very impressive.
I've never seen a model like that ! Really cool and so well detailed ! And idk , I think it looks cool wrecked , haha
It’s a $200 acme model limited production
😂😂😮😀
I had a real 76' dart swinger for a decade. Best car i ever had.
That model is cool. Lots of detail.
I really enjoy the old 60's and 70's muscle car resto's. 💗💗👍👍👍👍👍👍🏁🏁🏁🏁
Ficou simplesmente lindo 👏👏👍👍😁😁🇧🇷🇧🇷
Restauração excelente !

idk why I just sat and watched this thing but im glad I did.
Love that plumb crazy color!!💜💜💜
This is next level, man. The attention for detail, you've brought it to an absurd level. Absolutely amazing! Extremely well done
Seeing this video of a 1968 Dodge Dart die-cast model restoration, l now have a heads up on what is in store for me when l start working on my real 1967 Dodge Dart ! 😳
You have the 'Patience of Job'. Amazing👏👏👏🙏👌
Now this is real restoration. well done bro
Excellent work! But, to be honest, I liked it much more BEFORE the restoration. That was a work of art, also. They're both GREAT!
Such talent! Beautiful work! Wish I knew all the stuff you use like the molding solution and metal bondo. It may be common to some people but not a novice like me.You are a craftsman & artist.
excellent job of aging and restoration!
Fantastico…..BRAVO, Obrigado……
This has got to be the most detailed model I’ve ever seen, that engine block looks awesome, I love the fact that all the hoses and everything literally makes it look like someone took a shrink ray to this car
I mean, that’s the point of models right? To look realistic while being small
@@borbleborb4586 yes but that is really detailed its not every scale cars that the engine and transmission are all seperate pieces from the body.
I've never seen a diecast car kit put together with screws before either
I love your videos but ask, how did these cars end up so damaged? Nobody treats models to such an extent and that leads me to imagine the cars are damaged on purpose in order to be fixed later 😂
I was thinking the same thing. It"s wrecked too perfectly, like a well placed hammer blow.....🤔
probably was, as naturally damaged toy cars lose parts when it happens
@@vmlelectronics I very seriously doubt this type of damage has occurred by leaving it alone😂More than likely, it is done deliberately in order to restore it later and demonstrate the skill of "fixing something I broke intentionally" type of entertainment...kind of like signing a peace treaty after going to war intentionally...
@@myleghurts3546 😂😂
Even this breaks my heart... Then u fixed her up and I'm HAPPY again
That's some pretty liiiiiit 🔥 restorarion in hereeee 👏🏻👏🏻❤ ! Good job
Yah know, the thumbnail pic looks amazing! Looks like a car was picked up at someone's garage or yard been there for decades. 🤔 😳
My dad has a 63 impala he had painted plum crazy purple. It’s an awesome color. Also I love the restoration videos but please stop covering all the projects in the same dirt and mud. It makes it look like you’re trying to make the project look worse than it is. I only say this because EVERYTHING you restore has the exact same grime on it. I personally think the great skills you have fixing the actual damage is already enough to keep people interested. You’re a brilliant toy restorer and you shouldn’t make things up.
Agreed there is enough fake crap already.
I liked the wreck better.
Took somebody a lot of work to distress that model to make it look the way it did in the beginning.
A bit of a set up.
Excellent job very good and that guy was right about the crazy purple plum next time you come across something like that paint it yellow with the black stripes across the trunk excellent job
Very smart and clean restoration .
Bravo ! 👏👏Magnifique restauration 😁! Propreté et minutie très bien !👏👏
You guys make this look so easy.cuz you've done so many rest's.wish I could do this.i'd have these on display on my dresser and stands.
One more thing. I don’t know who cut that car to cause fake damage but they shouldn’t have. Like I said you are a great restorer and even if there’s minimal damage I still like real things and would enjoy just a refreshing of the toys.
May have been used in a movie scene. With the right angles and camera perspective it looks convincing.
Ummm yeah the who is him. He distresses the vehicle then restores it. No great mystery there.
What was so odd about this is that the way it was found looked somewhat how someone would find a real car that had been crashed then abandoned.
Clearly, you don't frequent yard sales, Goodwill, antique shops, and large flea markets!
@@craigcaldwell9181 I do frequent antique stores... What does that have to do with this?
I was saying the damage looks kinda like a real car crash and abandonment. But it's a diecast car.
Very cool sandblasting! Nice car!
Hey i got this limited edition car when it came out in 2021 (last year) too. Shame you didn't look after it very well that it needed restoring so quickly :/ ...
Nobody will mistreat these Highway 61 cars this way. These models are worth too much. Unless that person really WANTED his model to be this way. But anyway, I like to see the tricks on how to restore these. I would have used BareMetal foil (before installing the glass) for the chrome trim instead of the Molotow pen, as BareMetal is more durable. Nice job, thanks for the molding tips and body straightening tutorial! What paint do you use for the body?
It’s a GMP model not Highway 61. And it wasn’t mistreated. Someone went to great lengths to create a wrecked version of the car for a diorama or something. It would have been better to just buy another perfect example and put them side by side as a before and after in your collection. A lot of hard work was erased here with a lot more hard work.
given how near brand new those screws look like they are, despite how both before and after are cool. i feel like this car was deliberately destroyed to be "restored". because how the front is solid metal and even snapped off says either it was thrown off a building or hit with a hammer.
Yeah, some model vehicle restoration videos look fake, deliberately broken and dirt rubbed in. I'm not sure about this one.
@@2degucitasEven if they are deliberately broken to be restored for the video, it still shows you it could be done even if the old item you find is a bit banged up.
I thought the same thing. Likely out of a diorama as some others have previously stated.
Wow really really really beautiful 🚗 and great 👍 👍 video
Nice old toy car, my friendly worker ❤️
You pre-bent the chassis yourself, this is clearly visible after the sandblasting. The 2 cuts, one in front and one on the side, look too clean and are done on purpose, so you could bend the chassis afterwards. You, sir, are not fooling anyone.
You are probably right but I think the purpose here is to serve as a tutorial to demonstrate different techniques for restoring these types of models.
Good thing you pointed that out…..I thought he just kept slamming it into a wall over and over until the desired effect was achieved
@@maidenrulz73 he slammed it to a wall it break the whole car heat the front
End get shape he want
